For a majority of the 2023 recruiting cycle, Michigan State fans expected that Bo Edmundson was going to be the quarterback of the recruiting class. Edmundson committed to MSU in early February, and stayed committed until November, when the two sides decided the fit wasn’t right and parted ways.

Since parting ways, Edmundson has reopened his recruitment and has now found a new home for his college career. After a visit to Las Vegas, Edmundson has officially committed to UNLV of the Mountain West.

Michigan State football and 2023 QB commit part ways

It appears Bo Edmundson is no longer be a part of Michigan State’s 2023 recruiting class:

Bo Edmunson had been the quarterback commit for the Michigan State Spartans in the 2023 recruiting class since early February. But the quarterback is no longer a member of the 2023 class for Michigan State.

It was reported by Michigan State’s 247Sports website, Spartan Tailgate, that it was a mutual parting of the ways between the Austin, Texas, native and the Spartans.

Unfortunately, the season is not off to the start they wanted. Quarterback and Michigan State football commit Bo Edmundson was held out of the game due to injury.

It is unknown the severity of the injury, but it is rumored to be a back injury.

Michigan State football has landed a commitment from the next QB in line to take over in its program’s history. 2023 Texas native Bo Edmundson made his commitment to Michigan State on Monday night, putting him next-in-line to take over the Spartans storied quarterback position.

Edmundson is the third quarterback, joining Hamp Fay and Katin Houser, to commit to Michigan State under Mel Tucker and offensive coordinator Jay Johnson’s regime in East Lansing.

Michigan State football lands commitment from 2023 QB Bo Edmundson

Michigan State has their QB for the 2023 recruiting class!

Michigan State football’s coaching staff is continuing its momentum with the 2023 recruiting class, this time landing its quarterback for the class. Bo Edmundson has made it official and will be a member and the quarterback of the Spartans 2023 recruiting class.

Edmundson, a native of Austin, Texas, attends and plays for Lake Travis High School. He is currently ranked as a 3-star recruit, the No. 433 overall player and No. 22 quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Michigan State beat out the likes of Colorado, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Utah and West Virginia for the QB’s commitment.

The Spartans are still expected to continue their hot-pursuit of 5-star Detroit QB Dante Moore, to put alongside Edmundson in this class.

Edmundson joins 4-star tight end Brennan Parachek, 4-star Kedrick Reescano, 3-star Johnathan Slack and 4-star Andrew Depaepe in Michigan State’s 2023 recruiting class.
