Although most starters were held back and only played a bit, they are the known commodities. There were still plenty of take aways from the glorified scrimmage and here are some things that we learned after the spring practices.

Twitter Pens Notre Dame Football Valentines for Valentine’s Day

Here’s hoping your Valentine’s Day has been pleasant, whether you’re single or faithfully devoted to the one you love.

Here’s hoping your Valentine’s Day has been pleasant, whether you’re single or faithfully devoted to the one you love. Whatever your romantic situation is, we all love Notre Dame football here. In fact, some Irish fans have taken it upon themselves to write valentines with that theme using the hashtag #ndfbvalentines. Let’s see what our lovestruck poets came up with for this holiday:

This is not the first year in which Irish fans have written valentines for the holiday. A simple search of the hashtag traces it back to 2018. Of course, it’s nice to see some new ones to reflect everything that happened during the past season. After all, some of them are only as good as the season after which they are written.

As long as we’re on the subject, we’d like to remind you readers how much we love you and your support. We hope you enjoy reading our content as much as we enjoy writing it. Here’s to normalcy and hopefully a crowded Notre Dame Stadium this fall.

Notre Dame vs. Clemson: Third-Quarter Analysis

Well, we finally have the barn burner we were expecting in South Bend. Is it because Clemson is figuring out Notre Dame’s defense?

Well, we finally have the barn burner we were expecting in South Bend. Is it because Clemson is figuring out Notre Dame’s defense? Perhaps it’s the long time of possession the Tigers had in the third quarter. Whatever the reason, the final 15 minutes of regulation will begin with a 23-all game.

The Tigers took the ball to begin the second half and got far enough down field for B.T. Potter to kick a 46-yard field goal. The Irish promptly went three and out, Jay Bramblett had a short punt, and that began a Clemson possession that lasted nearly six-and-a-half minutes — longer than anyone in gold and blue would have liked. Led by D.J. Uiagalelei, the Tigers used every offensive weapon in their arsenal to pick up a third down, a fourth down and finally, a 10-yard touchdown caught by Davis Allen. The Tigers had scored 13 unanswered to knot it up.

The Irish appeared poised to take the lead right back. Ian Book opened the next drive with a 45-yard pass to Javon McKinley that required a replay review to confirm. Another review had to confirm a much shorter catch by Michael Mayer. Finally, Book was about to run for the touchdown from 7 yards out, only to lose the ball and have Baylon Spector recover it in the end zone for a touchback.

Notre Dame Cancels Spring Football Game

Notre Dame announced from their official football program Twitter account that the annual Blue-Gold spring game won’t take place

Earlier on Thursday the ACC Tournament and every other college basketball tournament was canceled. Brian Kelly also tweeted that the football program at Notre Dame had suspended operations for the foreseeable future in wake of Coronavirus.

It may have seemed inevitable after Michigan and Ohio State started the trend but moments ago Notre Dame announced from their official football program Twitter account that the annual Blue-Gold spring game won’t take place.

Again, hardly a surprise at this point but news nonetheless.
