Former Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough selected by Birmingham Stallions in UFL Draft

On Monday, former Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough was selected in the seventh round of the UFL Super Draft by the Birmingham Stallions.

A reunion is in the works as former Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough was re-drafted by the Birmingham Stallions on Monday during the UFL Super Draft. Scarbrough was drafted in the seventh round by the Stallions.

In 2022, Scarbrough helped lead the Stallions to the USFL Championship game. He had 84 carries for 352 yards and a touchdown. In 2023, Scarbrough suffered an injury which caused him to miss the entire season. The Alabama native will look to continue his success from two seasons ago in Birmingham during the 2024 season.

Now, Scarbrough will have the opportunity to help lead the Stallions in the UFL (United Football League). The USFL and XFL merged during the offseason to form the new league. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how things go in 2024 under the merge.

Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Harvard, Shampklin started his professional career with the Cowboys. He then spent time on the Colts practice squad.

Report: Patriots signing two-time USFL champion running back

The Patriots have reportedly added a new running back to the roster.

Running back help is on the way, but it isn’t coming from Ezekiel Elliott, Dalvin Cook or Leonard Fournette. Late Friday night, KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson reported the Patriots had signed two-time USFL champion running back C.J. Marable to a deal.

Per Wilson, the Patriots had Marable in for a workout, and things went well enough for the team to move towards signing him.

After cutting James Robinson and Ty Montgomery going down with an injury, the running back room has looked increasingly thin for New England. Rhamondre Stevenson’s reps have obviously been reduced throughout training camp to limit the miles on his body before the start of the regular season.

Marable rushed for 525 yards and three touchdowns last season with the Birmingham Stallions. He also put up 235 receiving yards and two touchdowns to show off his versatility.

His arrival means the Patriots will have to make room for a roster spot. So a corresponding move should be announced soon.

The Birmingham Stallions are the USFL champions for a second straight year

Alex McGough was dazzling, throwing 4 touchdown passes on Saturday, as the Birmingham Stallions downed the Pittsburgh Maulers, 28-12, for the USFL Championship.

Holtz’ dad, former college and NFL coach Lou Holtz, was in attendance at Tom Benson Stadium in Canton, OH.

WATCH: Reuben Foster discusses playing against Birmingham Stallions in USFL championship

Reuben Foster, an Alabama native, will be playing against Birmingham’s USFL team in the league’s championship game. He talks about how he feels.

Reuben Foster is a native of Alabama and is a Crimson Tide legend after serving as the team’s standout linebacker from 2013-2016. Now, he’s playing for a USFL championship as a member of the Pittsburgh Maulers.

The Maulers are looking to take down the defending champions, the Birmingham Stallions, which has Foster feeling a mix of emotions.

Foster found himself in the USFL after a short NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Commanders franchise. He was drafted in 2017 and was out of the league in 2020 following a series of injuries and off-the-field issues.

In a video recently shared to Twitter by Johnny Congdon of ABC 33/40, Foster talks about his close ties to the state of Alabama and what it’s like having to face the team from Birmingham.

“It’s going to feel super weird because I’m a big Alabama guy,” says Foster, who goes on to talk about how he’ll still play hard against them. “It’s kind of weird to play them, but it’s also going to be competitive.”

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Foster as he continues to progress in his professional career.
