Buffalo Bills set to face another backup Week 12

#Bills set to face another backup Week 12

The New Orleans Saints have lost starting quarterback Jameis Winston for the season with a torn ACL suffered during Sunday’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Bills are set to play the Saints in Week 12 at the Superdome in New Orleans. It will be Buffalo’s Thanksgiving Day game.

It’s the second time the Bills will face a backup this season after an injury forced Tyrod Taylor to miss Houston’s Week 4 game the Bills won, 40-0.

Jacoby Brissett stepped in for an injured Tua Tagovailoa early in Week 2 as well. The Bills shut the Dolphins out, 35-0.

Replacing Winston will be either Trevor Siemian or Taysom Hill. Hill has played in just five games this season. He’s attempted four passes, completing three, the lone incompletion was an interception.

Siemian stepped in for Winston completing 16-of-29 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown last week. It was his first appearance this year.

Hill went 3-1 in four starts at quarterback last season.

Siemian was last a full-time starter in 2017 for the Broncos, he started one game for the Jets in 2019 attempting just six passes before injury.

Hill was battling a concussion last week, that’s why he was not the one to replace Winston. As of Thursday, Hill has been cleared to play in their Week 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

It has not yet been announced who will start that game. The Bills will be taking notes.
