Bills-Titans meeting finally gets good news: No new COVID positives

Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans finally have good news for Week 5 as no new positive test results for COVID-19 come up on Monday.

For the first time in an entire week, the Tennessee Titans finally have gotten some good news in regard to the outbreak of COVID-19 in their clubhouse.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Titans, who are next scheduled to play the Buffalo Bills, recorded their first day of no new positive coronavirus test results since their issues with the virus began a week ago.

In Week 3, the Titans played the Vikings and in the ensuing days from there, things went from bad to worse. Minnesota never found any positive results via their post-Week 3 testing, but Tennessee continued to see the number of positive tests in their club increase all the way up to 18 people on Sunday.

Their Week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers was long canceled by then.

But finally, a day of no new positives results has arrived.

Still, the Bills and Titans are not in the clear in regard to playing again in Week 5. In order to get back into their team facility, NFL protocol dictates the Titans must have two-straight days of negative results.

If that happens again with their testing being conducted on Monday, the Titans could get in a “normal” work week ahead of their meeting with the Bills in Tennessee. Typically NFL teams begin their preparations for their next opponent on Wednesday.

Titans’ COVID positive tests increase again on Sunday

Titans see more coronavirus positive tests on Sunday ahead of Week 5 Buffalo Bills game.

If the Buffalo Bills’ Week 5 meeting with the Tennessee Titans wasn’t already in jeopardy… it’s now in… double jeopardy?

Whatever the case may be, the point is, things have continued to go from bad to worse for the Titans in terms of their COVID-19 test results this week. Sunday was no different than the prior few days.

According to various reports, the Titans now have 18 confirmed cases of coronavirus in their organization. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the recent outbreak saw another player and an additional member of the team, test positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

Since Sept. 28, the Titans have closed their team facilities. In order to return, NFL protocol states that anyone attempting to re-enter must have two days of negative test results.

Typically NFL teams begin their preparations for their next opponent on Wednesday. In order for the Titans to get in a normal week ahead of seeing the Bills in Week 5, they’d have to have their coronavirus outbreak stop immediately so the team can hope to have negative test results on Monday and Tuesday, so they can go back to work on Wednesday.

Considering it has been essentially a week straight of bad news for the Titans, most bets would be placed on that trend to continue.

ESPN also reported on Sunday that the NFL and NFLPA will investigate the Titans organization to see if they broke safety protocols leading to the outbreak.

Bills-Titans could be in question following more positive COVID tests

Titans-Bills Week 5 in question following more positive COVID-19 tests.

As of Saturday, the Tennessee Titans have yet to catch a break in their battle with COVID-19. The virus has found its way into their locker room and the team has had an outbreak.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, there are now eight Titans players and right other staff members that have tested positive for coronavirus. Each and every day with more positive tests puts the Buffalo Bills’ next game in Week 5 into question because the Bills and Titans are set to faceoff:

Earlier this week, Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White expressed concern about potentially playing the Titans next weekend if things don’t improve there.

“It raised a lot of antennas,” White said.

Bills Wire will continue to provide updates on the situation with the Titans over the weekend so be sure to check back.

Bills’ Week 5 opponent, the Titans, see further COVID positive tests

Buffalo Bills’ Week 5 opponents, the Tennessee Titans, are still testing positive for COVID-19 as of Friday.

The past week for the NFL and Tennessee Titans has continued to go from bad to worse.

Following their Week 3 game against the Minnesota Vikings, the Titans had multiple positive tests for COVID-19, the virus continuing to take the United States by storm. As the week has progressed, the issue came to a fever pitch on Thursday, as the league canceled the Titans’ next game in Week 4, against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The game will be moved to later this season, but as far as the Buffalo Bills are concerned? There’s potential reason to be concerned. With the Titans’ game originally scheduled for Sunday now off the field, their next game is in Week 5 when the Bills come to town.

That game, now just over a week away, is starting to become a bit of a questionable one. As of Friday, the bad news for the Titans still hasn’t ceased. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, two more players on Tennessee tested positive for coronavirus.

In total, the Titans are now up to seven players who have positive and six other members of the organization. While speculative, Schefter did later add in his report that if the Titans continue to test positive for COVID-19 over the weekend, the Bills could see their Week 5 meeting against the Titans canceled as well:

Throughout the past few days, Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott hasn’t made much comment on any COVID-19 related news in the NFL. That didn’t stop cornerback Tre’Davious White, though. White admitted this week while chatting to reporters that there’s concern in the Bills locker room about it, but they’re trusting the precautions in place still.

“It raised a lot of antennas,” White said.

Bills Wire will continue to provide updates on the situation with the Titans over the weekend so be sure to check back.

Titans game canceled due to COVID-19, will play Bills next

Buffalo Bills are now the next team the Tennessee Titans play next following COVID-19 outbreak in their lock room, Steelers canceled.

The Tennessee Titans’ COVID-19 outbreak in their clubhouse continued to grow on Thursday. Because of that, the NFL has canceled the Titans’ next game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, officially, after initially postponing it to Monday or Tuesday.

The game will be moved back to later this season at some point, but now the pressing news at-hand: The Titans’ next game will now be against the Buffalo Bills.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the NFL may move some bye weeks around to make the Titans’ schedule work in the end. Reportedly the Titans are up to five players and 11 total members of the organization who have tested positive for the virus. Defensive assistant coaches are included in that.

Report: NFL postpones Titans-Steelers Week 4 game with Bills on-deck

Latest news on the Titans and COVID-19. The Buffalo Bills and Titans play in Week 5.

After the Tennessee Titans had an outbreak of COVID-19 cases in their organization early this week, the NFL has reportedly made their first decision on what will happen next.

The Titans, scheduled to play the Pittsburgh Steelers next on Sunday, will have that Week 4 meeting postponed, according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini. The game could reportedly be pushed back just one night to Monday Night Football, or it could even be moved to Tuesday.

While seemingly having nothing to do with the Buffalo Bills, it does. The Bills face the Titans in Week 5, therefore, one way or another, the Titans appear to be en route for a shorter amount of time to prepare for the Bills in Week 5.

And of course, there are huge safety concerns the Bills will want sorted out before visiting the Titans.

In Week 3, the Titans played the Vikings. In response to the outbreak on the Titans, which has been upped to nine totals cases in the organization including four players, both teams closed their team faculties.

The Titans announced they’d be closed until Saturday while the Vikings said the precaution would be in place for 48 hours or until testing comes back negative for them. As of Wednesday, zero positive cases have been discovered on the Vikings.

NFL news: Titans, who Bills play soon, have COVID-19 outbreak on team

Tennessee Titans have coronavirus outbreak on team, who the Buffalo Bills play in 2 weeks.

The Tennessee Titans have become the Miami Marlins of the NFL on Tuesday. The MLB team was the first one in baseball to have an outbreak of COVID-19 cases on their team earlier this summer. The Titans are now the first football team to have it happen to them.

And the Bills play them in two weeks.

According to ESPN and other outlets, the Titans have closed their team faculties for this week as the club has had eight total confirmed outbreaks of coronavirus in their organization. Of those eight, three are players that have tested positive. Earlier this offseason, the Bills were part of a NFL issue where “false positive” test results were discovered. That has already reportedly been ruled out.

In Week 3, the Titans played the Vikings and Minnesota has also taken a safety precaution by also shutting their team facility down on Tuesday as well.

That contest between the Bills and Titans is technically scheduled for Oct. 11, which would be just under the typically mandated two weeks of quarantine required to help safety prevent further spread of the virus. But the NFL is using daily testing measures for COVID-19 which are not available to most.

The NFL will likely proceed with things day-by-day in terms of the Titans in regard to potentially cancelling their upcoming game on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. If the Titans do play, they’ll certainly be at a disadvantage, though. As mentioned, Tennessee is closing their team facilities, and they won’t be re-opened until Saturday. No practice before their game, if it’s even played.

How the NFL handles this situation is going to be heavily watched in the coming hours and days.

2020 Bills opponents: Ryan Tannehill back with Titans

When the Bills take a visit to Tennessee to face the Titans in 2020, Ryan Tannehill will likely be their quarterback for that game.

When the Bills take a visit to Tennessee to face the Titans in 2020, Ryan Tannehill will likely be their quarterback for that game.

Titans Wire writes that Tannehill’s contract is a four-year deal worth $118 million. Of that, $62 million is guaranteed. Tannehill, 31, led the Titans from a 2-4 start in 2019, which included a loss to the Bills, to a playoff berth and near trip to the Super Bowl.

Tannehill, the former first-round pick of the Miami Dolphins, was also named the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year. In total, Tannehill appeared in 12 games for the Titans last season, throwing for 2,742 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Also included in this Tannehill update is everyone’s favorite storyline: Tom Brady. With Tannehill back with the Titans, that’s one team that won’t be signing Brady, who’s slated to hit free agency next week. Brady going back to the Patriots appears to still be on the table, too.

2020 Bills opponents: Ryan Tannehill ‘not leaving’ Titans

According to reports, the Titans will not move on from QB Ryan Tannehill. They face the Titans next year.

Does the AFC go through Tennessee and the Titans in 2020?

One way or another, the Bills will. While Buffalo’s 2020 schedule has yet to be finalized, the Bills are slated to visit the Titans next year.

The Titans surprisingly advanced all the way to the AFC Championship Game this past season, falling to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Chiefs. Leading them there was quarterback Ryan Tannehill and their stout defense.

Despite that, there’s been some rumblings. Could the Titans be in the market for a new QB? Perhaps Tom Brady, even?

According to Titans Wire, the Bills should be facing Tannehill next season as reports surfaced earlier this week that the club will not look to replace him.

Tannehill made 10 starts for the Titans last season and picked up 2,742 passing yards, 22 touchdowns and only six interceptions. Tannehill also completed 70.3 percent of his passes. Those numbers helped him take home the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award.

The Bills did beat the Titans last season, however, that game will likely go down as Marcus Mariota’s final start with the club. Tannehill replaced him the following week.

Tannehill, 31, still has plenty of years left in the tank. But the Titans have to decide if he’ll be able to match that production because Tannehill has to be re-signed as he’s a pending free agent. Spotrac estimated that could cost the Titans a whopping $30.5 million in average annual salary.

But for what it’s worth, the Bills have a 7-4 overall record against the former first-round pick of the Dolphins.
