Before the disappointing showing against the Horned Frogs, Texas controlled its own destiny to play in the conference title game. The Horns just needed to win its final three games to clinch its spot for the first time since 2018.

Texas needs to take care of tough matchups with Kansas and Baylor even to have a fighting chance to play for the Big 12 trophy. The Longhorns players know they still have something to play for down the stretch of the season.
