UFC on ESPN+ 51 Ige vs. Tucker: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Ige 14-3 | Tucker 13-1

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

IGE (-155) is a strong play straight up on the 2-way line against the Canadian Tucker (+130). Ige checks in with a five-inch reach advantage that he will look to use for keeping Tucker at a distance. The southpaw Tucker has a 4.40-to-3.96 significant strikes landed per minute advantage, although Ige is a little more accurate at 46.63-to-45.03 percentage in accuracy.

Ige is looking to bounce back after a unanimous-decision loss to Calvin Kattar in the main event July 15, 2020, snapping a six-bout win streak. The southpaw Tucker is on a three-bout win streak with a pair of finishes against Justin Jaynes and Seungwoo Choi, and he had a unanimous-decision victory over Billy Quarantillo at UFC 256 in his most recent showing Dec. 12, 2020. A match with Ige, though, is a big step up in competition.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

Tucker has seen two of his past three finish inside the distance, while Ige has seen each of his past four go the distance. Ige’s recent fight history is driving the line, as YES (-225) ON ‘WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE?’ will cost you. I like it, though, as I think he will control the tempo of this fight and look to wow the judges with his technical ability.

As such, I also like IGE ON POINTS (+135) for the round betting.

UFC on ESPN+ 51 Cirkunov vs. Spann: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Cirkunov 15-5 | Spann 18-6

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

SPANN (+105) is a nice value as a short ‘dog in this one. He is looking for redemption after walking into a KO/TKO in Round 1 against Johnny Walker last time out on the Covington-Woodley card Sept. 19, 2020. That snapped an eight-bout win streak dating back to LFA 27 Nov. 10, 2017. Since arriving at the UFC level he has recorded decision wins, a submission and a KO/TKO, so he has shown versatility.

Cirkunov (-125) is also versatile, posting 4.18 significant strikes landed per minute while he has a ridiculous 65.42 significant strikes accuracy percentage. He also has a nice 4.42 takedown average and 57.89 takedown accuracy percentage with 2.41 submission average. This is going to be a war, and is a good bet for the fight of the night.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

All nine of Cirkunov’s fights since arriving at the UFC level have finished inside the distance, while Spann has finishes in three of his past four. It’s too expensive to take No (-375) on ‘will the fight go the distance?’, but you might want to take a chance on UNDER 1.5 ROUNDS (-150) as both of these fighters look to fire out of the chute and get the quick finish. There won’t be a lot of standing around and inactivity with these two.

SPANN BY KO/TKO, DQ OR SUBMISSION (+170) on the 5-way line is also worth a look, as “Superman” can help you almost double up if he can get the early finish.

UFC on ESPN+ 51: Manel Kape vs. Matheus Nicolau odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN+ 51 fight between Manel Kape and Matheus Nicolau, with MMA odds, picks, tips and predictions.

In a flyweight bout on Saturday’s main card, Manel Kape and Matheus Nicolau meet at UFC on ESPN+ 51 – also known as UFC Fight Night 187 or UFC Vegas 21 – at the UFC’s APEX Facility in Las Vegas. • Fight result (2-way line): Kape -135 (bet $135 to win $100) | Nicolau +110 (bet $100 to win $110)
  • Over/Under: 2.5 rounds (Over -140 | Under +115)

UFC on ESPN+ 51 Kape vs. Nicolau: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Kape 15-5 | Nicolau 15-3-1

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

The Portuguese native KAPE (-135) lost a unanimous decision to Alexandre Pantoja in his UFC debut on Feb. 6, 2021, on the Overeem-Volkov card. Kape had registered three KO/TKO victories prior to arriving at the UFC level.

Nicolau will be making his second try at the UFC after going 3-1 in his first go-around, including a unanimous-decision win over Louis Smolka at UFC 219 on Dec. 30, 2017.

Kape is a powerful puncher and a well-rounded fighter who can also get it done on the ground. That versatility will serve him well against the black belt Nicolau, who will be looking to damage Kape with kicks to the calves. If Kape can limit the damage to his legs, he’ll win this one going away.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

Both of these young fighters are looking to stick around the UFC level for a while, and Kape is looking for his first-ever win with the company.

There will be nerves, as he tries for win No. 1, and Nicolau tries to get it right in his second go-around.

The books consider the distance bet a coin flip, but I think YES (-105) ‘WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE?’ is a tremendous play given the inexperience on both sides.

They will be careful, they will not do things to put themselves in danger, and I believe KAPE ON POINTS (+300) is worth a look, too.

UFC on ESPN+ 51: Jonathan Martinez vs. Davey Grant odds, picks and prediction

  • Fight result (2-way line): Martinez -350 (bet $350 to win $100) | Grant +260 (bet $100 to win $260)
  • Over/Under: 1.5 rounds (Over -300 | Under +240)

UFC on ESPN+ 51 Martinez vs. Grant: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Martinez 13-3 | Grant 12-4

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

The southpaw Martinez (-350) will cost you three-and-a-half times your potential return against the Briton Grant (+260). The American holds a slight one-inch reach advantage, and he has a 4.34-to-3.67 significant strikes landed per minute led. If Grant holds an advantage, he is better on the takedowns, although he has had issues on the canvas with three submission losses in his past six pro bouts.

Martinez picked up a unanimous-decision win over Thomas Almeida last time out, and he has won four of the past five with two stoppages, both by KO/TKO. Grant posted a KO/TKO over Martin Day at UFC 251 July 11, 2020, last time out. The best play here might be to roll with MARTINEZ BY KO/TKO, DQ OR SUBMISSION (+200) on the 5-way line for a chance to double up.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

Both men have had plenty of stoppages recently with four of Grant’s past six fights finishing inside the distance and two of four for Martinez ending early. As such, look to NO (+125) ON ‘WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE?’ for a good value.

In addition, a lot of people do not like playing it conservative. But if you were to bet MARTINEZ TO WIN IN ROUND 1 (+450), MARTINEZ TO WIN IN ROUND 2 (+700) and MARTINEZ TO WIN IN ROUND 3 (+1100), you will lose two ends of this bet, but still be ahead as long as Martinez doesn’t win on points, or, of course, if Grant doesn’t pull the upset. I think this is guaranteed plus-money. If I were to leave one end off, I’d just bet Rounds 2 and 3 for a bigger value.

UFC on ESPN+ 51 Edwards vs. Muhammad: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Edwards 18-3 | Muhammad 18-3

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

We get a battle of 18-3 fighters, although Edwards (-250) is a rather decisive favorite. He enters on an eight-bout win streak, last losing to Kamaru Usman Dec. 19, 2015, via unanimous decision.

Edwards has ended up going the distance in eight of his past 10 fights, and he continues to wow the judges with his technical ability. While he is a little too expensive to bet straight up on the 2-way line, EDWARDS ON POINTS (+100) is even money and a much better play.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

Based on the recent fight history of Edwards and Muhammad, play YES (-185) ON ‘WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE?’.

We told you about Edwards above, but Muhammad has also had just one finish across his past nine bouts. OVER 4.5 ROUNDS (-200) is worth a look if you want a little bit of wiggle room or insurance, just in case of an unexpected Round 5 finish.

UFC on ESPN+ 51 Anders vs. Stewart: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Anders 13-5 | Stewart 12-6

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

The underdog Anders (+150) is looking to bounce back after a unanimous-decision loss to Krzysztof Jotko last time out on May 16, 2020, and he is just 2-4 across the past six outings. Meanwhile, Stewart (-185) is looking to rebound from a split-decision loss to Kevin Holland on Sept. 19, 2020. Both fighters will be hungry and trying to avoid a two-bout losing skid.

Both fighters are pretty even in the significant strikes landed per minute category, with Stewart holding a slight 3.08-to-3.02 edge in that category, with the accuracy difference rather negligible. Both are also fairly even in the takedown average and accuracy departments, as well as submission average. As a result, “Ya Boi” ANDERS (+150) is the much better value here.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

Five of the past six pro fights for Stewart have ended up needing the judges to decide a winner, with two wins in those five decisions with one submission win along the way.

For Anders, he has had just one stoppage in the past five bouts. That’s why the odds are so skewed favor of the fight going the distance.

The best bet here, based upon both fighters going the distance so frequently lately, is playing YES (-190) ON ‘WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE?’.

For an added bonus, play ANDERS BY DECISION (+300) for a small-unit wager and good value.
