NBA fans are upset at Draymond Green for saying Charles Barkley ‘can’t sit at this table’

This is what real beef looks like, y’all.

The beef between Draymond Green and Charles Barkley goes back a long, long way and, let me tell you, it ain’t ending anytime soon.

Barkley has been making fun of the Warriors all season long. And, honestly, can you blame him? They’re pretty awful.

But Barkley’s energy for Green has been pretty relentless over the last few years. Earlier this season he made fun of Green for averaging what he called a “triple single.”

Last week he kept the joke going during the Lakers game after Green got ejected, and brought up Green’s non-stop trash talk when the Warriors were at their peak and he was surrounded by All-Stars.

“He talks all that stuff when he’s got them other boys with him, now he’s out there [and has to] fight for himself he just don’t want to play. Give me a break. Y’all better quit telling me who can play and who can’t play. I know who can play.”

Green finally got a chance to respond today and, hoo boy, did he ever. After today’s practice, Green was asked about he and the Warriors’ critics — particularly Barkley. He then proceeded to let the shots fly.

Green said Barkley wasn’t good enough at broadcasting or basketball to talk about his game.

“He should stop before I take his job. If he keep talking, I’ll take it soon — sooner than he thinks. He probably should be quiet. He also can’t talk basketball with me, either. Not smart enough, not qualified. No rings, can’t sit at this table.”

And, BOY, did that last part get the internet in a frenzy. This went from beef to a referendum on RINGZZZ culture real quick.

Here’s the thing, though. We’re all looking at this the wrong way. This isn’t the time for some astute analysis on either Barkley or Green as NBA players in the zeitgeist. That’s way to complicated and complex for what this is.

Nah, y’all. This is beef. Like, legit beef — not “I’m going to subtweet you to death” beef. All of that stuff kind of goes out the window.

Does Green know that Charles Barkley was a great player? Of course he does. It doesn’t matter, though. Why? Because Barkley told a nationally televised audience that he wanted to punch Green in the face two years ago. In all honesty, calling Barkley ringless is probably a more measured response from Green.

They legitimately don’t like each other. That’s just what it is. We shouldn’t think of it as more than that.

Charles Oakley wants the NBA to ‘take a look’ at the Knicks

Oak has spoken.

If there’s anyone who knows what Spike Lee is going through right now, it’s Charles Oakley.

Oakley was removed from Madison Square Garden in handcuffs by security in 2017 after getting into an argument with team owner James Dolan. He was given a lifetime ban from the arena after the altercation and hasn’t been back since.

Fast forward three years later and Spike Lee is getting into arguments with ownership himself and saying he won’t watch games from MSG for the rest of the season. He’s not on the same lifetime ban tip as Oakley is, but it doesn’t feel like he’s too far away.

And, apparently, Oakley has had enough. He’s so fed up with the team that he wants the NBA to step in, he told the Associated Press.

“It’s got to be stopped in some kind of way. The NBA has got to take a look at this. You can’t keep closing your eyes to this. This is like, turn your head if you see someone beat somebody up and you just keep walking. It just keeps happening in New York. People are not going to come here because it’s the same thing over and over and over. They got a new president and all everyone is talking about what happened between Spike Lee and the Garden.”

I mean, he’s not wrong. Nobody even remembered that the Knicks won their game against the Rockets on the day they officially hired Leon Rose. It wasn’t even an afterthought — all people talked about was Spike Lee and the Knicks beef.

It’s hard to see the NBA stepping in and doing anything, really. We’ve only seen that on a few occasions, such as the Donald Sterling incident, and, uh, that ain’t this.

But the Knicks are definitely a mess and will continue to be one until someone cleans them up.

Could this be the moment where the Giannis vs. Harden beef started?

The internet cracked the case again.

The Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden beef may have come to a head today, but it’s been a long time coming. All the signs were there and they were pretty obvious — it’s surprising we didn’t catch on sooner.

Before the All-Star game comments, before Harden got mad Giannis stole an MVP from him, before Giannis hilariously pulled off the most aggressive off-the-heezy move in the history of mankind on Harden’s head, there was this incident in 2014.

At the end of a Bucks vs. Rockets game where the Rockets were winning pretty handily, Antetokounmpo and Harden got tangled up and Harden was called for an offensive foul.

Giannis had some words for him and, uh, they didn’t look too kind. Plus he smacked the ball out of Harden’s hands like a six year old.

It looked like Harden was ready to go right then and there. Until Larry Sanders stepped in anyway.

Is this when the two future MVPs realized they just don’t like each other? Before all the MVP’s and All-Star appearances and everything else, there was this.

And we know James Harden is a member of “GIANNIS DON’T HAVE NO BAG” Twitter. We should’ve seen this coming, y’all. We should’ve known.

Andre Iguodala had nothing bad to say about Ja Morant and the young Grizzlies

Andre Iguodala is a fan of the young Grizzlies.

We always love a good beef story, right? That’s why when Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant called Andre Iguodala out for not wanting to play with them because, well, he’s old and unwilling to play for a non-contender, we got excited.

Last week, Brooks and Morant called out Iguodala for sitting the season out until he got traded. Brooks said he wished they’d hurry up and trade him so the Grizzlies could whoop him and Morant retweeted Brooks.

Turns out the beef was over before it even began.

Iguodala had absolutely nothing bad to say about the young Grizzlies when he spoke to the media after joining the Heat. In fact, he praised them!

“I love all those guys, I’ve been watching them play. Dillon has been playing really well this year. And Ja is Rookie of the Year. Been watching him. Phenomenal talent. I think I saw a poll say, ‘Who would you start a team, a franchise with if you had to pick a point guard?’ And I would’ve voted for him as well.”

Well, there you have it folks. Nothing to see here. No beef from Iguodala’s side of things. He’s apparently a fan…although, if he was a real fan, it brings up the question about why he wouldn’t want to play with them?

But whatever! Let bygones be bygones. The two sides have gone their separate ways and will be all the better for it.
