Bears 2022 schedule: Game-by-game with predictions

The Bears have released their 2022 schedule, and we’re taking an early look at predicting each game.

The NFL has released its 2022 schedule, and we’ve learned exactly when the Chicago Bears will face their 2022 opponents. Chicago will open the season against the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 11, which will feature Justin Fields vs. Trey Lance.

Aside from facing their NFC North rivals twice this season, the Bears will square off against the AFC East and NFC East, which includes home games against the Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins, as well as away games against the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots and New York Jets.

They’ll also face the same-place finisher from the NFC South (Atlanta Falcons) and NFC West (San Francisco 49ers). With the additional 17th regular-season game, the Bears will host the Houston Texans.

Below is Bears Wire’s early game-by-game predictions for the 2022 season:

How many more games will the Bears win in 2020?

The Bears have just four games remaining in what’s become a dreadful 2020 season. How many of those will they win?

We’ve reached the inevitable point of this Chicago Bears season where we’re looking past the remaining four games of the schedule and towards what’s shaping up to be a big offseason.

As of Monday night, the Bears have a top-15 draft selection, which you figure will be used to draft either a quarterback or offensive tackle of the future.

But it likely won’t be current general manager Ryan Pace calling the shots following what’s been a dumpster fire of a season, where head coach Matt Nagy and president Ted Phillips’ jobs are also on the line.

Ahead of what’s going to be a busy January, here’s a look at Chicago’s remaining schedule:

  • Week 14 – vs. Houston Texans
  • Week 15 – at Minnesota Vikings
  • Week 16 – vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Week 17 – vs. Green Bay Packers

At first glance, there are three winnable games left on the schedule for the Bears, including the Texans, Vikings and Jaguars. But, realistically, Chicago would be lucky to get one or two wins out of those remaining games. Maybe the one-win Jags will be the one to prevent a potential 10-game losing streak?

Depending on whether or not Green Bay will be playing for anything, that regular-season finale could once again get ugly for a Bears defense that hasn’t been the since that Week 12 game.

What say you, Bears fans? How many more games do you think the Bears will win to close out this dreadful 2020 season?

BW Staff Predictions: How many games will the Bears win in final stretch?

Here’s how our Bears Wire staff sees the Bears’ season shaking out in the final six games.

After an encouraging 5-1 start, the Chicago Bears have spiraled out of control in a four-game losing streak that has them sitting at 5-5 at the bye week.

While the Bears’ remaining schedule features just one winning team on the slate — the Green Bay Packers — this certainly won’t be a cakewalk for a team that needs to find a spark on offense.

So how many wins will Chicago pull out in the final stretch? Here’s how our Bears Wire staff sees the Bears’ season shaking out in the final six games.

The Bears have third best strength of victory through Week 6

Many have disrespected the Bears due to their weak schedule. But that argument isn’t valid anymore after two wins over winning teams.

[jwplayer cpboXlrv-ThvAeFxT]

The Chicago Bears have gained no respect with their impressive 5-1 start. Mostly because it’s been far from pretty, with the Bears being involved in a one-score game every week this season.

But one of the arguments against the Bears has been that they haven’t beaten any good teams. Which was a valid argument through the first four weeks, which included wins against the Detroit Lions, New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons, all teams that have losing records through six weeks.

Although that argument is hard to uphold with Chicago’s most recent wins against NFC South contenders the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers in back-to-back weeks. If anything those

The Bears actually have the third best strength of victory schedule through Week 6 at .458, which ranks only behind the Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints.

Funny enough their NFC North rivals, the Green Bay Packers, have been praised for their strong start. But they’ve also beaten some bad teams in the Lions, Falcons and Minnesota Vikings. Although their victories have been much more convincing than Chicago’s have been.

There’s not a lot of respect for the Bears through these first six weeks. But it doesn’t matter because they’re sitting pretty at 5-1 in first place in the NFC North and the second seed in the NFC.

But things will certainly get more challenging as they face the Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans over the next three weeks.

Say what? CBS Sports analysts believe Bears will finish last in NFC North in 2020

CBS Sports analysts came to an unanimous agreement that the Bears will finish in dead last in the NFC North in 2020.

It’s no secret that there aren’t many people that are confident in the Chicago Bears, outside of the organization, heading into this season. And they’re justified in their thinking, especially considering they had one of the worst offenses in the NFL last season.

But there’s a fine line between a lack of confidence and ignorance in regards to some of these season predictions. It seems some people just love to hate on the Bears, so obviously they’re piling on them ahead of their Week 1 opener against the Detroit Lions.

CBS Sports analysts came to an unanimous agreement that the Bears will finish dead last in the NFC North in 2020.

Seriously.

Honestly, considering how many things went wrong last season — an abysmal offense, a slew of injuries — the Bears still managed to finish 8-8. So with some improvements on both offense and defense, it’s hard to imagine Chicago doing worse than they did a year ago.

So if these CBS analysts all have the Bears finishing in last place — you’d expect no worse than 8-8 from an improved team — does that mean the NFC North will have four teams with at least eight wins?

Look, these pre-season record predictions don’t mean a darn thing. We saw how mostly everyone had the Bears pegged as either repeat division champions or runners up with around 10 wins. And we saw how that worked out.

At the very least, the Bears have some bulletin board material as they head into a season where they’re determined to prove that last year was a fluke rather than the expectation.

But this isn’t the first time analysts have severely underestimated the Bears — 2018 season, anyone? — and it certainly won’t be the last.

It’s a good thing the Bears seem to thrive in the underdog role.

Shocker: NFL analyst believes Bears will clinch NFC’s No. 1 seed in 2020

Many NFL analysts believe the Bears will be terrible in 2020, but Nick Wright believes the Bears will be one of the NFL’s best teams.

The Chicago Bears have taken the brunt of NFL analysts this offseason, where several of them have declared they’ll be among the worst teams in the league in 2020.

Following a disappointing 2019 season, it’s easy to understand where the doubt comes from. But you also have to factor in the fact that the Bears were still able to win eight games during a season where their offense floundered and their defense suffered significant losses with injuries to defensive tackle Akiem Hicks, Danny Trevathan and Roquan Smith.

While the Bears aren’t considered favorites to return to the playoffs, there’s no reason to believe they’ll regress to three wins in 2020. Especially considering the Bears made some offseason moves to bolster their team, including quarterback Nick Foles, tight ends Jimmy Graham and Cole Kmet, as well as pass rusher Robert Quinn and cornerback Jaylon Johnson.

But there is one NFL analyst that believes the Bears will be one of the best teams in the league next season. Nick Wright has been predicting the NFL’s 2020 schedule, and when he got to the NFC North, Wright had a shocking prediction.

Wright believes the Bears will win 12 games and clinch the division in Week 17 with a win over the hated Packers. According to the graphic, Wright also has Chicago as the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Wright’s reasoning for the Bears shocking the NFL has to do with their struggles in 2019 — and how they ultimately were able to eke out eight wins despite those fallacies. They added Foles, they’re getting back Hicks and Trevathan and Chicago’s defense should be able to force more takeaways than last season, where they were among the worst in the league.

Something that the Bears haven’t been associated with this offseason is optimism, so it’s a satisfying deviation from the norm. Wright believes that the Bears will be one of the last undefeated teams in the NFL in 2020, citing the favorable early stretch of their schedule as a reason why. He has their first loss coming on the road against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7 on Monday Night Football.

While it might seem a little extreme to believe the Bears could lock up the No. 1 seed in the NFC at this point, it’s not impossible to believe. If Chicago’s defense returns to its dominant form in 2020 and the offense operates effectively, there’s no reason to believe that the Bears won’t be in contention for the NFC North title and perhaps the top seed in the conference.
