Two Wisconsin Badgers off the board in DraftWire’s latest NFL mock draft

Two Wisconsin Badgers off the board in DraftWire’s latest NFL mock draft

The 2023 NFL Draft is approaching and a number of Badgers are waiting to hear their name called when the event begins on April 27.

Our friends at DraftWire recently put together a two-round NFL mock draft that had a pair of Badgers off the board early.

Offensive lineman Joe Tippmann was first off the board for the Badgers, and was followed up by defensive lineman Keeanu Benton.

The No. 1 overall pick was Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson, who went to the Carolina Panthers. Three quarterbacks went off the board in the first three picks, with Richardson being followed up by Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud.

Here is a look at where the Badgers ended up:

A look at every Badger who has been signed as an undrafted free agent

The end of the 2022 NFL draft didn’t mark the end of rookie Wisconsin Badgers finding their place in the league.

With the end of the seventh round came the beginning of the undrafted free agent process, where a number of Badger hopefuls were quickly signed by teams. There is a chance that even more Wisconsin products will sign NFL deals in the coming days, but as it stands quite a few undrafted free agent Badgers have already been picked up.

Here is a look at undrafted free agent Badgers (and a former Badger) who signed undrafted free agent deals on Saturday:

Wisconsin LB Jack Sanborn joins Chicago Bears as undrafted free agent

The Badger linebacker is headed to Chicago

After many scouts saw him as a day 3 pick in the 2022 NFL draft, Wisconsin linebacker Jack Sanborn ultimately went undrafted on Saturday.

It didn’t take long, however, for the former Badger to find his NFL home. Sanborn is headed to the Chicago Bears after signing as an undrafted free agent on Saturday afternoon. The news was first reported by Courtney Cronin of ESPN.

Sanborn spent the past four seasons at Wisconsin, and totaled a career-high 89 tackles as a senior in 2021. He had 16 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, and a fumble recovery during his senior season.

Sanborn is a Deer Park, Illinois native, so he gets to begin his NFL journey close to home.

NFL Draft: Instant Twitter reaction to Tyler Biadasz landing with the Dallas Cowboys

A look at initial reactions to Tyler Biadasz being selected by the Dallas Cowboys

[lawrence-newsletter]A former Wisconsin center is off the board in round four. Tyler Biadasz is headed to the Dallas Cowboys, who selected the Badger lineman with the No. 146 overall pick.

The former Badger will now have the task of trying to replace another former Badger at center for the Cowboys.

Many had pegged Biadasz as a late day two guy, and the speculation was that the Rimington award winner fell because of medical questions.

There were no questions, however, about his production during his time in Madison.

The Cowboys are excited to bring in a high-upside center who will look to continue the Wisconsin tradition at that position in Dallas.
