Wisconsin offers recent Minnesota PWO commit Zander Rockow

The Badgers offer a recent Minnesota PWO commit

Just 24 hours after Badger State native Zander Rockow committed to Minnesota as a preferred walk-on, Wisconsin came calling.

On Monday, the Badgers offered the 2023 athlete after Rockow spoke with Wisconsin special teams coordinator Chris Haering. The Regis High School star is an Eau Claire, Wis. native with an offer list including Illinois State, Northern Illinois, and Valparaiso.

On Sunday, Rockow announced his commitment to Minnesota as a preferred walk-on but the Badgers will still have a chance to flip the Wisconsin native. He has played on both sides of the ball in high school, primarily at running back and middle linebacker.

Rivals links Wisconsin football with former 4-star Clemson RB

In an article by Mike Farrell of Rivals, he links the Wisconsin Badgers with former Clemson running back and 247sports 4-star Chez Mellusi.

In an article released by Mike Farrell of Rivals, Farrell links the Wisconsin Badgers with former Clemson running back and 247Sports four-star recruit Chez Mellusi. Mellusi entered his name into the transfer portal yesterday after spending two years with the Tigers.

Mellusi signed to Clemson in 2019 and rushed for 427 yards in his career on 71 carries. The Naples, Florida, native rushed for only 151 yards in his second season on 27 carries, compared to 276 yards on 44 carries in his freshman season.

Farrell mentioned Purdue, Wisconsin, Liberty, UCF, Louisville and Vanderbilt are pursuing Mellusi, but “right now it is the Badgers that are the most aggressive, and they are certainly attractive to running backs.”

Mellusi would provide key depth alongside Jalen Berger to a Wisconsin backfield that lost Garret Groshek and Nakia Watson this offseason.

Friday night, 247sports insider Evan Flood covered the third game of four-star Wisconsin commit TJ Bollers in Ceder Rapids, Iowa.

Bollers played well in the highlights from Flood and showed great power in his game for Clear Creek Amana. The four-star recruit has been able to play his senior season in his home state of Iowa, unlike many other Wisconsin commits in states like California. The Tiffin, Iowa native had offers from Alabama, UC-Berkeley, Florida, Iowa, Notre Dame, Penn State, and others before his verbal commitment to Wisconsin in June. In his conversation with Flood after the game, Bollers stated, “I feel like I found my home.”

It is great to see an incoming edge rusher for Wisconsin play with such physicality and gets me even more excited to see what the class of 2021 can do when they get to Madison.
