While Notre Dame football took care of business on the field this weekend against Purdue, the good times didn’t end there.
The Irish got back on the recruiting trail and made an offer to Florida 2026 defensive back [autotag]Ayden Pouncey[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 3-inch and 160-pound prospect is one of the best in the country, ranking as the No. 162 overall prospect and 12th ranked safety according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
The long-armed defender already had an impressive offer list that includes Georgia, Missouri, Oregon, Penn State and others. Football runs in the family, especially to the Florida Gators as both his brother Jordan and Ethan, both suited up for them.
Extremely grateful to receive an offer from The University of Notre Dame! @CoachMickens @DMAC_II @adamgorney @SWiltfong_ @JohnGarcia_Jr @Andrew_Ivins @ChadSimmons_ pic.twitter.com/00jSeC6j6K

It will be hard to break the family tradition of playing for the Gators, but Notre Dame has had recent success recruiting the state of Florida. Adding in the uncertainly with their head coach, and there’s an opportunity for another program to land the legacy. Hopefully, they continue that by landing Pouncey in the future.
