‘The Match’ replica golf cart goes for big money in auction for Tiger Woods’ foundation

A replica golf cart from ‘The Match’ went for big money in an auction for Tiger Woods’ foundation this week.

Tiger Woods announced an auction of 21 items to benefit his TGR Foundation earlier this week and you won’t believe how much some items sold for.

For instance, the most expensive item, a Full Swing Pro Series Simulator, which went for a whopping $41,000.

Two of the next three most expensive items were predictably the golf trips to Diamante Cabo San Lucas and TGR Design’s Bluejack National in Texas, which sold for $17,000 and $14,000, respectively. Sandwiched right between the two trips was one of the most exclusive items you’ll see in a golf auction: a replica golf cart from last May’s The Match: Champions For Charity event at Medalist Golf Club that saw Woods and Peyton Manning take down Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson.

The Tiger-customized cart, an E-Z-GO Freedom RXV EliTE, sold for $16,500. In total, the 21 items sold for more than $130,000.

Woods has been a busy cat since missing the cut at the U.S. Open last month. The 15-time major champion recently unveiled his new course at Big Cedar Lodge by winning the inaugural Payne’s Valley Cup with teammate Justin Thomas, defeating Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose. He also confirmed he’ll defend his Zozo Championship title later this fall at one of his favorite courses, Sherwood Country Club.

Which Redskins will have an impact in fantasy football next season?

Fantasy football is a ways out, but it’s never too early to do some research and these are a few players in Washington to keep your eye on.

We don’t yet know when the 2020 NFL season will kick off, or what exactly it will look like whenever games do finally get underway, but one thing is for sure — when games start, fantasy football will be right alongside the action, step for step with the real contests.

The Washington Redskins may not be projected to win many games in 2020, but there are several players on the team who could end up making a difference on your fantasy team. Whether you play in a ‘Just For Fun’ league with your family or work colleagues, or you’re deep in the game with dynasty leagues and auction drafts, these are some names to keep in mind as you start to do draft prep for the coming season.

Redskins to Start With Confidence

Terry McLaurin

Derrius Guice

There really are only two players in Washington who you can have any amount of confidence when throwing into your starting lineup, and one of those players has dealt with a litany of injuries already in his young career, so it may be on a wing and a prayer that you entrust him with a RB2 or FLEX spot any given week. However, if either Terry McLaurin or Derrius Guice are healthy, you can definitely feel good about playing them.

McLaurin had an incredible rookie season, and he burst onto the scene in fantasy right off the bat, with over 60 yards and a touchdown in each of his first three games. As for Guice, he only played in five total games on the year, but he scored three touchdowns in that time, with 245 yards rushing, and seven receptions for 79 yards as well. Both are expected to get better this offseason, and both are projected to shoulder a major load in the Redskins’ offense going forward. Draft them, and start them without a second thought.

Russell Wilson and Ciara auction off double date for charity

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara are auctioning off a double date with them through Fanatics’ All In Challenge.

Seattle Seahawks star quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife, Grammy-award winning singer Ciara, are continuing to find innovative ways to help the Seattle community, many who are suffering thanks to the stay-at-home order in response to COVID-19.

After pledging meals to feed the needy, Wilson and Ciara are now taking part in the All In Challenge, an auction event sponsored by Fanatics that is donating 100% of the proceeds to Feeding America, Meals On Wheels, World Central Kitchen and No Kid Hungry.

The auction item up for bid is a double date with Wilson and Ciara, where they will agree to take the winner and one guest to dinner at one of their favorite restaurants. The winner will be flown out to the destination by Wilson and Ciara – via Wheels Up, another of Wilson’s charitable endeavors.

Wilson and Ciara announced the auction on Twitter, with Wilson extending the challenge to another pair of celebrity couples: former baseball star Alex Rodriguez and singer/actress Jennifer Lopez, as well as singer John Legend and model/actress Chrissy Teigen.

The bidding began at $10,000 dollars, and was already up over double that at the time of this writing.

Seahawks to participate in ‘My Cause My Cleats’ Week 14

In support of charities of their choosing, Seattle Seahawks players will be participating in the “My Cause My Cleats” campaign Week 14.

Throughout Week 14 of the regular season, the Seattle Seahawks and other teams around the league will participate in the NFL’s “My Cause My Cleats” campaign in support of hundreds of charitable efforts.

Seahawks players, coaches, staff and Legends will sport shoes and cleats representing causes of their choosing during the Sunday night matchup against the Rams in Los Angeles.

“Our players are passionate supporters of many charitable causes and serve as changemakers in their communities,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said via the league press release. “We are excited to build upon last year’s success and work with our players to expand this unique platform that enables them to raise awareness for causes they support.”

Following the week, the players will auction off their game-worn cleats, with 100% of the proceeds going to their individual causes.
