Broncos made 5 roster moves ahead of 2023 season finale

Broncos placed Mike McGlinchey and Delarrin Turner-Yell on IR, activated Alex Palczewski from IR, promoted Art Green and elevated Devon Key.

The Denver Broncos made five roster moves this week ahead of Sunday’s season finale against the Las Vegas Raiders.

First, the Broncos placed safety Delarrin Turner-Yell on injured reserve after he tore his ACL against the Los Angeles Chargers. To provide more depth at safety after losing Turner-Yell, Denver elevated defensive back Devon Key from the practice squad to the game-day roster on Saturday afternoon.

Additionally, the Broncos placed right tackle Mike McGlinchey (ribs) on injured reserve. McGlinchey was ruled out on Friday. Denver is now set to start Cam Fleming at right tackle in Week 18.

To fill the two spots on the 53-man roster from Turner-Yell and McGlinchey going on IR, the Broncos promoted cornerback Art Green from the practice squad and elevated offensive tackle Alex Palczewski from injured reserve.

Key was a game-day roster elevation — Green and Palczewski were fully promoted to the 53-man roster. See the team’s roster moves below.

With spots to be won at cornerback, Art Green could be a sleeper to watch during Broncos training camp.

The Denver Broncos signed Art Green as a college free agent following the NFL draft in April and given the team’s depth at cornerback, he should have a decent shot to make the 53-man roster in 2023.

Green’s college highlights from his time at Houston can be seen in the above video. Green will aim to impress during training camp and preseason this summer while competing for a rotational role in the secondary.

Broncos announce undrafted free agent signings: Meet the 15 players

Learn more about the 15 undrafted free agents the Broncos signed following the 2023 NFL draft.

After selecting five players in the 2023 NFL draft (and adding a sixth player through a draft-day trade), the Denver Broncos have filled their 90-man offseason roster by signing undrafted free agents.

The Broncos signed 15 UDFAs after the draft, including two running backs and two defensive linemen. Those are two notable positions given that Denver did not select a running back or a defensive lineman during the draft.

The Broncos also brought in tight ends, wide receivers, offensive linemen, linebackers and defensive backs. Undrafted players often face long odds to make the 53-man roster, but Denver has a strong history of uncovering UDFA gems.

Here’s a look at the 15 UDFA signings the Broncos made in 2023.

10 potential undrafted free agents the Eagles could target after the 2023 NFL draft

We’re looking at ten potential undrafted free agents the Philadelphia Eagles could target after the 2023 NFL draft

The 2023 NFL draft is almost complete, and the Eagles are just getting started with filling their 90-man roster for this summer’s intense training camp sessions.

Howie Roseman has been open about previous undrafted free agent classes, with several big-named stars holding second-day draft grades.

One week after the 2022 NFL draft, the team announced the signings of 12 undrafted rookies ahead of the minicamp.

Four eventually found their way onto the 53-man roster at some point.

We reported last week that Philadelphia led all teams with $1.8 million spent in the previous year in post-draft contracts, and Howie Roseman annually is known as one being the biggest spenders after the draft.

Recent undrafted free agents who’ve had game action with Philadelphia include Reed Blankenship, Britain Covey, Josh Jobe, Corey Clement, Sua Opeta, Nate Herbig, Kayode Awosika, Joe Ostman, Jack Stoll, Brett Toth, Greg Ward, Marvin Wilson, T.J. Edwards, and future Hall of Famer Jason Peters, who originally signed with the Bills.

We’re previewing ten prospects Philadelphia could target at the draft’s completion.

10 potential UDFAs Broncos could target after the NFL draft

Here’s a quick list of 10 potential undrafted free agents the Broncos could consider after the NFL draft.

The Denver Broncos only have five picks to use in the NFL draft this year, so barring any trades that add more picks, Denver will have room to sign 13 undrafted free agents following the draft next weekend.

The Broncos have a great history of landing UDFA gems, including wide receiver Rod Smith and cornerback Chris Harris. Last year, Denver signed 13 UDFAs, including wide receivers Jalen Virgil and Brandon Johnson.

It’s impossible to know for sure which prospects will go undrafted this year, but we have put together a list of 10 potential UDFAs that the Broncos could consider late in the draft or potentially immediately after the draft.

Here’s a quick list of 10 names to watch for as potential UDFA targets.

Broncos host CB Art Green on pre-draft visit

The Broncos brought in Houston cornerback Art Green for a pre-draft visit last week.

The Denver Broncos hosted Houston cornerback Art Green on a pre-draft visit last week. After previous reports that he was set to visit the team, Green confirmed his presence at the club’s UCHealth Training Center on his Instagram story last Wednesday.

Green (6-1, 198 pounds) was clocked running a 40-yard dash in 4.34 seconds at Houston’s pro day, the kind of speed that gets the attention of NFL teams. He spent two years at Hutchinson Community College before transferring to Houston ahead of the 2020 season.

As a fifth-year senior, Green totaled 49 tackles (three behind the line), eight pass breakups and two interceptions 12 games with the Cougars last fall. He was named the Defensive MVP of the Independence Bowl in December after earning second-team All-American Athletic Conference recognition for the 2022 season.

Green is now considered a late-round prospect or undrafted free agent candidate. Unless the Broncos trade down, their latest pick in the draft is set to be No. 195 in the sixth round. Denver seems more likely to target Green as a UDFA than in the sixth round of the draft.

The 2023 NFL draft will be held in Kansas City from April 27-29.

Colts to host CB Art Green for top-30 visit

The fifth-year senior led the Cougars with 10 passes defended in 2022.

The Indianapolis Colts will host Houston cornerback Art Green for a top-30 visit ahead of the 2023 NFL draft.

It has been a theme throughout the offseason for the Colts to show interest in adding to the cornerback position, and the subject of their official draft visits has focused mostly on the prospects projected in the later rounds.

According to Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston, Green has visits with the Colts and Denver Broncos.

Though Green was not invited to the NFL combine, he put on a show at Houston’s pro day. He measured in at 6-foot-1 and 198 pounds with 30 7/8-inch arms. He posted a 4.36 in the 40-yard dash while adding a 36-inch vertical and a 10-foot-2-inch broad jump.

A fifth-year senior, Green spent his first two seasons of college at Hutchinson Community College before transferring to Houston ahead of the 2020 season. He was a two-year starter for the final two seasons of his career with the Cougars.

In 2022, he appeared in 12 games (11 starts) while recording two interceptions, 10 passes defended and three tackles for loss.

Green is currently projected to be a late Day 3 selection or priority free agent signing following the draft so it’s likely we should keep an eye out for him when the Colts begin adding undrafted rookies.

We’ll be tracking the Colts’ reported interest in the 2023 draft class so be sure to keep up with latest updates via our tracker.
