Fans react after No. 4 Tennessee falls apart vs Arkansas

No. 4 Tennessee football lost to unranked Arkansas, a loss that Georgia fans can enjoy as well.

Alabama wasn’t the only team to suffer a brutal upset loss this week. There were several high-profile upsets from this week, and the No. 4 Tennessee Volunteers became a victim of one of them, dropping to the unranked Arkansas Razorbacks 19-14.

Early on, it looked like Tennessee was going to cruise to an unimpressive win, leading 14-3 in the middle of the 3rd quarter. However, Tennessee punted on each of their next four drives, while Arkansas scored 16 unanswered, including the go-ahead touchdown with 1:17 left in the fourth. Tennessee made it all the way to Arkansas’ 20-yard line, before quarterback Nico Iamaleava ran out of bounds as time expired.

Nico Iamaleava was terrible in this game, totaling just 154 yards on 29 attempts for a QB rating of 39.5. The running game was the only source of points on offense, with two touchdowns and 174 yards on 36 total attempts.

Meanwhile, Arkansas’ Taylen Green was great, with 266 yards on 27 attempts, but he left the game with a lower-body injury, leaving backup Malachi Singleton to lead the Razorbacks to pay dirt. That’s exactly what he did, leading them on a 4-play, 59-yard drive, capped off by his own running touchdown.

This is the first week in college football history where two SEC teams ranked in the top five lost in the same week. Both the Alabama and Tennessee losses give Georgia a better chance to make the SEC championship.

Here are some of the top fan reactions on social media after the game:

Another 2025 Aggie commit will attend Texas A&M vs. Arkansas

2025 4-star RB commit Deondrae “Tiger” Riden will also attend Texas A&M vs. Arkansas

Texas A&M (3-1. 1-0 SEC) will face Arkansas (3-1, 1-0 SEC) on Saturday afternoon, as the Southwest Classic will resume inside AT&T Stadium for a final game in the venue after a decade-plus.

While the Aggie offense looks to keep improving, keeping the Razorback offense at bay will likely be the key to leaving Arlington, Texas, with a victory; the team that doesn’t turn the ball over will also have a stark advantage.

Outside of the fans and alumni attending the game, several of Texas A&M’s 2025 commits, including 4-star wide receiver Kelshaun Johnson, 4-star linebacker Noah Mikhail, 4-star OT Marcus Garcia, and now, 4-star running back Deondrae “Tiger” Riden, will also attend the game as head coach Mike Elko and his staff look to solidify their commitments ahead of early signing day.

Needing to add to the running back room due to future departures, Riden is one of the more dynamic athletes in the class, possessing the speed, vision, and second-level agility to become an early contributor in OC Collin Klein’s offense. So far this season, Riden has rushed for 416 yards and five touchdowns while averaging over 100 rushing yards per game.

Texas A&M will face Arkansas inside AT&T Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 2:30 p.m. CT. The game will air on ESPN.

Mike Elko explains Texas A&M WR Moose Muhammad’s lack of play time

Moose Muhammad is by far Texas A&M’s most explosive wide receiver option

Texas A&M will head to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Friday night ahead of the Aggies’ Saturday afternoon showdown vs. Arkansas in the annual Southwest Classic. This will be the final year that the game will take place, as a future venue has yet to be announced.

Ahead of the game, head coach Mike Elko spoke to the media on Monday afternoon in the usual fashion, answering any remaining questions regarding A&M’s competitive 26-20 win over Bowling Green on Saturday night.

But what caught all of our attention was when he was asked why senior wide receiver Moose Muhammad hasn’t received as many snaps compared to other receivers on the roster—credit to Elko, who kept it brief and concise.

“He has to be consistent. That’s what we’re looking for from him.”

In just two appearances this season, Muhammad has recorded three receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown and did not see the field against Bowling Green.

Throughout his Texas A&M career, Muhammad’s 1,151 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns tell the story of a player with all the talent in the world while, as Elko stated, lacks the consistency to do all the little things from blocking to running efficient routes, and most importantly, avoiding self-inflicted penalties.

So far this season, The Aggie receiving room has lacked explosiveness and the ability to separate in-route, something Muhammad has shown to be excellent at in years past. With redshirt freshman quarterback Marcel Reed slated to start his third game on Saturday, he’ll need a go-to receiver moving forward, placing the son of former NFL wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad back in the spotlight.

Texas A&M will face Arkansas inside AT&T Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 2:30 p.m. CT. The game will air on ESPN.

One of Texas A&M’s 2025 commits will watch the Aggies play next weekend

2025 4-star WR and Texas A&M commit Kelshaun Johnson will watch Texas A&M take on Arkansas next weekend

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class is filled with talent at every position, led by 5-star quarterback Husan Longstreet and 4-star defensive lineman DJ Sanders. Still, one name has continued to make headlines during his final year of high school football.

Needing to add more speed and downfield explosiveness to the wide receiver room, 4-star WR Kelshaun Johnson committed to the Aggies over the Texas Longhorns earlier this year and has continued to look like one of the top overall athletes in the cycle. While the Longhorns are certainly trying to flip him, Johnson is still firmly committed to the Aggies.

After scoring a late touchdown to take the lead in Hitchcock’s recent game, Johnson revealed that he will attend Texas A&M’s Week 5 matchup vs. Arkansas at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, which will be his first game this season.

With the Aggie offense finally looking better after defeating Florida 33-20 last Saturday, Johnson can visualize his place in the future lineup, possibly with quarterback Marcel Reed, who could start his second game of the season against Bowling Green on Saturday night.

https://twitter.com/jackson_dip/status/1837186367127724138?s=61&t=OlvmpLlfm5nwkqjMIBWaqg

According to 247Sports, Johnson is currently positioned as the 196th-ranked prospect, the 20th-ranked wide receiver prospect, and the 27th-ranked prospect in Texas.

Texas A&M will host Bowling Green on Saturday, Sept. 21. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.

Former Georgia wide receiver finds new NFL home

Former UGA, Arkansas football wide receiver lands with the New England Patriots after the Cleveland Browns released him

A former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver has found a new home in the NFL. The Cleveland Browns released Matt Landers on Aug. 19. Shortly after his release, the New England Patriots claimed the former Georgia pass catcher on waivers.

Landers played at Georgia from 2017-2020, recording 10 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown in 12 games during the 2019 season. His role decreased greatly in 2020, which prompted him to transfer to Toledo the following year.

In one season at Toledo, Landers recorded 20 catches for 514 yards and five touchdowns before spending his final year of eligibility at Arkansas. He led Arkansas in receiving that season, recording 47 catches for 901 yards and eight touchdowns.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver split time on the practice squads of the Seattle Seahawks and the Carolina Panthers in 2023. At the combine in 2023, he recorded a 4.37 40-yard dash. Landers also had a short stint in the UFL with the San Antonio Brahmas in 2024.

Now, he will try to gain some traction with the Patriots, who play their preseason finale against the Washington Commanders on Aug. 25.
