Cardinals at 49ers picks and predictions

Prediction

49ers 30, Cardinals 20

Moneyline

The Cardinals have led at halftime in every game this season and scored on all 5 first-half possessions last week. They have not turned the ball over in their last 2 weeks and rushed for 222 yards against Dallas.

However, the 49ers are a better-coached team than Dallas and their defense has allowed only 53 rushing yards per game.

The 49ers defense and rushing attack will ultimately wear down Arizona’s defense and offense, but there is no money to be made on the moneyline.

PASS.

Against the spread

The Cardinals are 3-0 ATS this season with a better-than-expected defense that has 12 sacks and 23 passes defended. They are not turning the ball over, and they play with effort and intensity.

But RB Christian McCaffrey leads the NFL in rushing yards and has scored a touchdown in 12 straight games.

While the 49ers have not been great in the red zone, the Cardinals can’t expect them to go 1-for-5 in the red zone with an interception and turnover on downs like the Cowboys last week.

Arizona can, though, get pressure on 49ers QB Brock Purdy and has picked off a pass every game.

Arizona will not win but should threaten throughout.

BET CARDINALS +14 (-110).

Over/Under

The Over is 2-1 in the Cardinals’ last 2 games, and they have scored 28 points in those games.

The 49ers have scored 30 points in every game this season.

BET OVER 43.5 (-110).

Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Arizona Cardinals (4-12) wrap up their season on the road in Week 18 against the NFC West champion San Francisco 49ers (12-4). Sunday’s kickoff at Levis Stadium is at 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Cardinals vs. 49ers odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Cardinals have lost 6 straight games and 8 of their last 9. They lost 20-19 last week to the Atlanta Falcons on the final play of the game, but did cover  the 7-point spread as road underdogs. After starting 4 different QBs in 4 games, David Blough will make his 2nd consecutive start.

The 49ers head to the postseason with a shot at the No. 1 seed in the NFC. They have won 9 consecutive games and the last 4 with 7th-round rookie QB Brock Purdy starting in place of the injured Jimmy Garoppolo. They picked up a 37-34 overtime win over the Las Vegas Raiders last week, but failed to cover the 10-point spread as road favorites.

Cardinals at 49ers picks and predictions

Prediction

49ers 31, Cardinals 13

Moneyline

The Cardinals have a 4th-string QB starting without many of their starters. Their season is over.

The 49ers are trying to play for the No. 1 seed. They have won 9 straight.

The Cardinals have no incentive to win, but there is no reason to bet the 49ers on the moneyline.

PASS.

Against the spread

The 49ers are 10-6 ATS and, before failing to cover the spread in their win over the Raiders last week, they had covered the spread in 6 straight.

They beat the Cardinals by 28 in Week 11 in Mexico City (38-10).

The Cardinals have covered the spread the last 2 weeks, but were going against a bad defense in Atlanta and a bad offense against Tampa Bay. The Cardinals will not be able to do much this week.

BET 49ERS -14 (-112).

Over/Under

The 49ers have the league’s No. 1 defense. Outside of allowing 34 points last week, in the previous 8 games they allowed 12.1 points per game.

The Cardinals have failed to score 20 points in 5 of their last 6 while the Niners have scored over 30 in 5 of their last 7 games.

BET OVER 39.5 (-111).
