Kevin Zeitler and others return to practice on Monday, two leave early

The Baltimore Ravens kicked off another week of practice after defeating the New Orleans Saints 17-14 in Week 1 of the 2021 preseason. The team is gearing up to head down south for joint practices with the Carolina Panthers before playing Carolina on Saturday night.

During Monday’s practice, Baltimore got some positive news on the injury front, as Kevin Zeitler returned to the field along with a few others. However there were a few new absences, some which had to due with transactions that the team made on Monday.

Two players also left practice early in wide receiver Sammy Watkins and defensive back Brandon Stephens

Outside of injury news, it was a good practice on many fronts for the Ravens, as multiple players shined.

While quarterback Lamar Jackson threw a few interceptions, it wasn’t a horrible day for him. Safety Ar’Darius Washington built on his strong preseason performance, while it was also a big day for multiple tight ends on the roster.

It was also great news that tackle Ronnie Stanley had his most extensive practice of the offseason. Hopefully a few more players can return to practice over the coming days as the team looks to get healthy before the regular season begins.

The Baltimore Ravens will soon have a great chance to see how some of their practice standouts will perform in live game action. The team will face the New Orleans Saints on Saturday in their first preseason game of the 2021 season, which is another step to figuring out who will make Baltimore’s 53-man roster.

There will be plenty of players to keep an eye on over the course of the preseason, especially those who are on the roster bubble. Through a few weeks of training camp practices there have been those who have helped their stock and those who have hurt it.

TCU S Ar’Darius Washington declares for 2021 NFL draft

TCU safety prospect Ar’Darius Washington is leaving school early to enter the 2021 NFL draft

One of the nation’s top safety prospects has announced that he’s leaving school for the next level.

TCU’s Ar’Darius Washington announced via his social media Tuesday evening that he is declaring for the 2021 NFL draft.

Listed at 5-8, 178 pounds, the biggest knock on Washington will obviously be his size. Look beyond the measureables though and you’ll find a good football player. Washington has produced at a high level as a starting safety for the past two seasons.  He wrapped up his 2020 campaign with 37 tackles, including one tackle for loss, and five pass breakups. He’s an athletic playmaker with a nose for the ball.

Washington, a redshirt sophomore, had two years of eligibility remaining (possibly three years with the NCAA freezing eligibility this fall due to the pandemic).

Washington could come off the board on Day 2.
