The Ravens announced inactives for their Week 3 matchup vs. the Patriots on Sunday

Most of the players listed were questionable to play on the team’s final injury report of the week on Friday and the Ravens have decided to rest some of that talent. It was announced on Saturday ahead of the inactives list release that offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley would miss Week 3. Stanley has not seen a snap since Week 1 of 2021. Other players who will not play on Sunday are wide receiver James Proche II, running back Kenyan Drake, cornerback Daryl Worley and defensive end Brent Urban.

The Patriots also released their inactives list, and well be missing a few key pieces.

Ravens announce inactives for Week 2 vs. Dolphins

The Ravens announced inactives for their Week 2 matchup with the Dolphins

Baltimore released their inactives list for their Week 2 matchup with Miami, featuring a host of big names. Most of the players listed had a “questionable” tag on the team’s final injury report of the week on Friday. The Ravens have opted to take the cautious with some of their talent.

After speaking with the media earlier in the week and looking like he may suit up, Baltimore has decided to rest running back J.K. Dobbbins. He suffered a season-ending ACL injury during the 2021 preseason. The team also announced that offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley, tight end Nick Boyle, wide receiver James Proche II, defensive tackle Travis Jones and cornerback Brandon Stephens will miss Week 2. The Baltimore Ravens enter Week 2 of the 2022 season at 1-0 as their home opener at M&T Bank Stadium against the Miami Dolphins quickly approaches. They’ll have their hands full with a talented Miami team, and could be without some of their key players while also getting others back.

Players featured on the team’s final report were relatively the same from Thursday aside from tight end Nick Boyle, who was removed from the list following a day of rest. Players listed as doubtful for Sunday were wide receiver James Proche II (groin) after not practicing the last two days, and offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) after being limited in practice on Wednesday and Friday.

Dobbins (knee), fullback Patrick Ricard (calf), cornerbacks Marcus Peters (knee) and Marlon Humphrey (groin), defensive tackle Travis Jones (knee) and defensive back Brandon Stephens (quad).

If Dobbins, Peters and Jones are a go for Sunday, they would be making their 2022 season debut in front of the home crowd at M&T Bank Stadium.

The Dolphins released their final injury report of the week, and will be without starting offensive tackle Austin Jackson while also potentially being with their other starting tackle in Terron Armstead .

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson discusses chemistry with WR Rashod Bateman

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson talked about his chemistry with wide receiver Rashod Bateman

The Baltimore Ravens begin their 2022 regular season on Sept. 11 against the New York Jets, and one of the questions asked by many leading up to it is how the team will look at the wide receiver position. Baltimore opted to not select a wide receiver after trading away wideout Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals in the 2022 draft, instead trusting their young players at the position such as Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay, James Proche II, Tylan Wallace and others.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson spoke to the media following a training camp practice. When asked about building chemistry with Bateman, Jackson said the two have been working with each other and Bateman looks ready to be a No. 1 receiver.

“Yes, he [Rashod Bateman] did [have a nice day today]. I feel it’s [the chemistry] is pretty good. Like I told you guys before, offseason, as soon as we got to working, he was looking pretty good then. And we had probably one hiccup day. When we were back out here, we had a little vet day, a mini-vet day, but other than that, he’s been looking pretty sharp. He’s been looking good – looking like a receiver [No.] 1, for sure.”

Bateman is entering his second season and is poised to have an increased role following the departure of Brown. Last season, Bateman had 46 receptions for 515 yards and one touchdown in 12 games played. He showed his ability to move the chains as well as his route running prowess, impressing during his time on the field.

Jackson and Bateman didn’t have a lot of time together on the field in 2021, but they’ve clearly established a connection heading into the 2022 season. If both are healthy, they could prove to be an extremely dangerous duo for opposing defenses.

Two notable Ravens players miss practice during 2022 training camp for first time

Two notable Ravens players missed practice for the first time during 2022 training camp

The Baltimore Ravens are looking to bounce back after a disappointing end to their 2021 season. The team finished with an 8-9 record after enduring a six-game losing streak to end the year, largely in part due to injuries.

Baltimore has experimented with many different things to try to reduce the number of injuries they have in 2022, including moving training camp practices from the morning to the afternoon. However, they have still seen some players pick up both minor and major ailments, and on Tuesday two new faces missed practice for the first time in wide receiver James Proche II and cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis.

Amour-Davis was limited in practice on Monday, so the team is likely being cautious with him and making sure something minor doesn’t turn into a more serious issue. It’s possible the same is being done with Proche, and it’s unclear whether either will play in Thursday’s preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.

Ravens WR named as team’s ‘best-kept secret’ by Bleacher Report

Bleacher Report named a Ravens’ wide receiver as the team’s “best-kept secret”

The Baltimore Ravens’ wide receiver group is one that doesn’t have the most NFL experience, but has plenty of potential. During the offseason, the team traded wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and a third-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals for the No. 23 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, as moving on from both Sammy Watkins and Miles Boykin. The team will now rely on players such as second-year pass-catcher Rashod Bateman, who is expected to be the team’s No. 1 wide receiver this season.

In an article posted by Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report, he named every NFL team’s best-kept secret for 2022. The article focused on players that many people may not know about, but could provide plenty of help to their teams this upcoming season. For Baltimore, Davenport listed wide receiver James Proche II as his choice for the team. When explaining why Proche was the Ravens’ best-kept secret, Davenport discussed Proche’s role with the team, as well as the fact that the third-year wideout has shined during organized team activities.

“…Per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, Proche has shined at OTAs, leading to speculation that his offensive role could increase significantly in 2022. If Proche does emerge as a viable option on third downs, the 5’11”, 193-pounder will smash new career bests across the board.”

While most of Proche’s playing time has come on special teams throughout his NFL career, he has shown flashes s at the wide receiver position. Through two seasons, he has 17 receptions for 216 yards, showing great hands as well as route-running skills with his ability to get open and pick up key first downs.
