UFC Fight Night 247 video: Tresean Gore submits Antonio Trocoli in 83 seconds

Tresean Gore made Antonio Trocoli frantically tap out with a standing choke early in the first round at UFC Vegas 100.

[autotag]Tresean Gore[/autotag] delivered the cleanest performance of his octagon tenure Saturday when he finished [autotag]Antonio Trocoli[/autotag] at UFC Fight Night 247.

Gore (5-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) needed just 83 seconds to latch on a standing guillotine choke that forced Trocoli (12-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC) to frantically tap out early in the opening round of the middleweight bout at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Check out the replay of the finish below (via X):

Gore, 30, was ecstatic after bringing his octagon record to .500 and becoming the first to submit Trocoli in MMA competition. He said he hopes the perception of him is changing after a rough start in the organization.

“I get black belts with that guillotine,” Gore said in his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping. “You’re all going to have to learn to respect me. One step at a time you’re going to see that I’m not just a prospect, I’m a contender.”

UFC on ABC 6 results: Shara Magomedov blitzes Antonio Trocoli for first UFC stoppage

Shara Magomedov picked up his first stoppage in the UFC, lighting up his short-notice opponent with a furious flurry at UFC on ABC 6.

[autotag]Shara Magomeodv[/autotag] lived up to his nickname “Bullet” by firing off a barrage of strikes to pick up his first stoppage in the UFC.

After a late opponent change, Magomedov (13-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) found himself sharing the cage with a debuting Antonio Trocoli on the main card of UFC on ABC 6 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Trocoli (12-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) provided some resistance early on, but Magomedov’s superior cardio and sharp striking led to a knockout stoppage at 2:27 of Round 3.

Magomedov circled on the outside and looked to set the tone with hard leg kicks, but after Trocoli connected with a few sharp punches, he repeatedly tried to bring the fight to the ground in the opening round. Magomedov prevented the attempts, but the clinch battles shut down his offense.

Early in Round 2, it was more fast, hard kicks from “Bullet” while Trocoli stalked forward and didn’t offer much in terms of striking. Trocoli’s takedown attempts were met with solid defense. However, Magomedov got away with a blatant fence grab to prevent going to the ground, which referee Marc Goddard scolded him for without repercussion.

To begin the final round, Magomedov offered an array of kicks, hitting Trocoli to the head, body and legs. As Trocoli’s movement became more labored, the fight simply became target practice for “Bullet.”

A hard knee followed by combinations of punches connected, wobbling Trocoli. The blitz was on, and a few seconds later, Trocoli hit the canvas.

In his second fight with the promotion, Magomedov picks up his first stoppage in the UFC. Originally slated to fight Joilton Lutterbach, who popped for an illegal substance and later admitted to it, Trocoli stepped up on short notice to make his debut.

Shara Magomedov vs. Antonio Trocoli prediction, pick, start time, odds for UFC on ABC 6

Highly-touted Shara Magomedov gets a short notice debuting opponent in Antonio Trocoli. Will “Bullet” keep his record unblemished?

[autotag]Shara Magomedov[/autotag] and [autotag]Antonio Trocoli[/autotag] meet Saturday on the main card of UFC on ABC 6 from Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom.

Shara Magomedov vs. Antonio Trocoli UFC on ABC 6 preview

Magomedov (12-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) enters his second UFC bout with a lot of hype behind him. In his promotional debut at UFC 294 in October, “Bullet” picked up a unanimous decision win over Bruno Silva. The 30-year-old Russian is undefeated in his pro career. … Trocoli (12-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has had quite the winding road to the UFC, but finally makes his debut with the promotion. Originally scheduled to fight Ikram Aliskerov at last week’s UFC on ESPN 58 event, Trocoli was left without an opponent when Aliskerov was replaced Khamzat Chimaev in the main event to face Robert Whittaker. Then Trocoli also found himself stepping up on short notice for a fight a week later, filling in for Joilton Lutterbach to face Magomedov.

Shara Magomedov vs. Antonio Trocoli UFC on ABC 6 expert pick, prediction

Filling out the main card in Saudi Arabia is an impromptu middleweight matchup between Magomedov and Trocoli.

Despite MMA casuals and degenerate bettors growing increasingly tumescent over the “Shara Bullet” hype currently being served to us, I’m not buying it.

Take away the James Bond villain gimmick and the masses who fetishize any fighter who remotely looks like they could be Khabib Nurmagomedov’s cousin, and what you’re left with is a flashy kicker who has largely come through against unproven competition (minus a Bruno Silva who is past it, of course).

Say what you will about Trocoli’s travel and inconsistent schedule before this bout, but the man is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu brown belt with a serviceable takedown game – which is enough to convince me to go contrarian here.

I’ll take the wildly unpopular pick and side with Trocoli to win by submission in Round 2.

Shara Magomedov vs. Antonio Trocoli UFC on ABC 6 odds

The oddsmakers and the public are heavily favoring the Russian fighter, listing Magomedov as a large -590 favorite and Trocoli as a sizable underdog at +440, via FanDuel.

Shara Magomedov vs. Antonio Trocoli UFC on ABC 6 start time, how to watch

As the second bout on the main card, Magomedov and Trocoli are expected to make their walks to the octagon at approximately 3:40 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts live on ABC and streams on ESPN+.

Shara Magomedov gets new opponent for Saturday’s UFC on ABC 6

Shara Magomedov has a new opponent for his return to the octagon at Saturday’s UFC on ABC 6 in Saudi Arabia.

Crisis adverted. [autotag]Shara Magomedov[/autotag] is staying on UFC on ABC 6.

The fan-favorite fighter lost his bout against Joilton Lutterbach at Saturday’s UFC debut event in Saudi Arabia, but has quickly found a replacement in Antonio Trocoli on just three days’ notice.

UFC CEO Dana White announced the news on his Instagram on Wednesday evening. Lutterbach later shared he was pulled from the fight by the anti-doping commission because of a substance found in his urine.

Magomedov (12-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is unbeaten in his professional MMA career and is looking to follow up on a successful UFC debut. “Bullet” debuted for the promotion in October, defeating veteran Bruno Silva in a unanimous decision. The Dagestan fighter has gone through three different matchups for UFC on ABC 6.

His opponent, Trocoli (12-3, 0-0 UFC), will finally make his UFC debut after a tumultuous history with the company. He earned a UFC contract through Contender Series in 2019, but was cut after a failed anti-doping test.

Trocoli then returned to the regional circuit, where he won a fight and was re-signed to the promotion in 2022. Since, he’s had three canceled bouts and has yet to set foot in the octagon. He was supposed to fight Ikram Aliskerov last Saturday, but Aliskerov was pulled to fight Robert Whittaker in the main event of UFC on ABC 6.

Newcomer steps into UFC Fight Night 241 on four days’ notice

A former Bellator and Road to UFC combatant has signed and will fight Oumar Sy on four days’ notice.

Four days out from UFC Fight Night 241, the lineup was tweaked.

Former Bellator and Road to UFC fighter [autotag]Tuco Tokkos[/autotag] has filled a void left by [autotag]Antonio Trocoli[/autotag] and will fight [autotag]Oumar Sy[/autotag], promotion officials confirmed Tuesday after an initial report by Al Zullino. The light heavyweight bout takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Tucos (10-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) originally entered the international spotlight in Bellator but was released after an 0-2 stint with the promotion. Since then, he’s gone 6-1 with his lone loss a brutal knockout against current UFC fighter Zhang Mingyang on Road to UFC in June 2022. He enters Saturday’s bout on a three-fight winning streak.

It’s unclear why Trocoli (12-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) withdrew. The 33-year-old Brazilian continues to have issues stepping in the UFC cage. He was signed off Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019, but then released after a drug test came back positive. He was signed again in 2022, but withdrew from a bout vs. Ovince Saint Preux. It’s unclear if he remained on the roster before his reappearance in the booking vs. Sy.

Sy (9-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is also a promotional debutant. He previously competed for KSW and ARES FC among other promotions and has seven finishes (four knockouts and three submissions) in seven pro wins. Once he debuts, Sy will register the fourth-longest reach in promotion history at 83.9″.

With the change, the UFC Fight Night 241 fight card includes:

MAIN CARD (ESPN+, 7 p.m. ET)

  • Edson Barboza vs. Lerone Murphy
  • Carlston Harris vs. Khaos Williams
  • Ramiz Brahimaj vs. Themba Gorimbo
  • Vinicius Salvador vs. Adrian Yanez
  • Angela Hill vs. Luana Pinheiro

PRELIMINARY CARD (ESPN+, 4 p.m. ET)

  • Victor Martinez vs. Tom Nolan
  • Oumar Sy vs. Tuco Tokkos
  • Melissa Gatto vs. Tamires Vidal
  • Warlley Alves vs. Abus Magomedov
  • Ariane Carnelossi vs. Piera Rodriguez
  • Heili Alateng vs. Kleydson Rodrigues
  • Vanessa Demopoulos vs. Emily Ducote

Ovince Saint Preux loses third UFC 282 opponent after Antonio Trocoli withdraws

Ovince Saint Preux and UFC 282 apparently just don’t mix well together.

[autotag]Ovince Saint Preux[/autotag] and UFC 282 apparently just don’t mix well together.

For the third time, Saint Preux has lost his opponent for Saturday’s event after Brazilian [autotag]Antonio Trocoli[/autotag] withdrew from their light heavyweight bout in Las Vegas due to visa issues. A replacement opponent on six five days’ notice is being sought.

A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the news to MMA Junkie on Monday following an initial report by MMA Fighting.

Saint Preux, 39, has experienced the worst luck trying to keep a fight together at UFC 282. He was originally supposed to meet former light heavyweight title challenger Alexander Gustafsson. However, Gustafsson withdrew for undisclosed reasons and was replaced by Philipe Lins.

Lins, however, withdrew Nov. 27 for undisclosed reasons. In his place stepped in promotional newcomer Trocoli, who is now out.

Across his most recent four bouts, Saint Preux (26-12 MMA, 16-12 UFC) is 2-2. He is one of the longest tenured members of the UFC roster as he nears his 10-year anniversary with the promotion.

The updated UFC 282 lineup includes:

  • Jan Blachowicz vs. Magomed Ankalaev – for vacant light heavyweight title
  • Jared Gordon vs. Paddy Pimblett
  • Santiago Ponzinibbio vs. opponent TBA
  • Dricus Du Plessis vs. Darren Till
  • Bryce Mitchell vs. Ilia Topuria
  • Chris Daukaus vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik
