Auburn 2025 signees earning accolades at Alabama-Mississippi All-Star practice

Five new Tigers earned themselves spots on the On3 ‘Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game Top Performers’ list this week.

Auburn finished 2025 National Signing Day with the No. 6 ranked recruiting class in the nation according to most outlets, and some of those top ranked recruits are already making themselves well known. Five in particular, edge rusher Jared Smith, quarterback Deuce Knight, linebacker Jakaleb Faulk, and defensive lineman Malik Autry and Antonio Coleman, earned themselves spots on the On3 ‘Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game Top Performers’ list this week.

The list, which was made by On3 analyst Charles Power, highlighted the top 10 high school prospects that have made an impact through the practices leading up to the All-Star game on December 14. Smith, who was widely considered as a top 3 edge rusher in the 2025 cycle, was the highest ranked Tiger on the list, ranking in the No. 2 spot behind only Colorado signee Carde Smith. Deuce Knight also ranked in the top five, taking the No. 5 spot. Faulk (6), Autry (7), and Coleman (10), rounded out the rankings, giving Auburn spots in half of the 10-man list.

While Hugh Freeze is likely to bring in a transfer portal quarterback to compete with the aforementioned Knight, it is a major possibility all five future Tigers on this list receive a heavy snap share once they touch down on the Plains next season. With plenty of spots opening on the roster and the sizable talent influx set to reinforce Auburn’s roster next year, the Tigers are likely to have a much different look next season.

Standout individual performances by top ranked recruits like these could help propel players like Smith, Autry, Knight, Coleman, and Faulk up the depth chart as next fall approaches.

Four-star defensive lineman Jourdin Crawford signs with Auburn

The Alabama native is widely considered to be one of the best interior defensive lineman prospects in the 2025 cycle.

Auburn’s fantastic 2025 signee class continues to get stronger. [autotag]Hugh Freeze [/autotag]and his staff inked another top-ranked recruit on Wednesday, as four-star defensive lineman [autotag]Jourdin Crawford[/autotag] officially signed his letter of intent to join the Tigers.

The Birmingham, Alabama native is widely considered one of the best interior defensive linemen prospects in the 2025 cycle. A consensus top-11 recruit from Alabama, Jourdin committed to the Tigers in the fall of 2023. The 6-1, 300-pound run-stuffer took two visits to Auburn in 2024, unofficially spending time on the Plains in March before officially visiting during the Tigers’ early-season victory against New Mexico.

Crawford’s official commitment adds another four-star rated athlete to what has become one of the best recruiting classes in Auburn football history. He is the fourth defensive lineman to sign his letter of intent today, joining five-star edge rusher [autotag]Jared Smith[/autotag], five-star interior lineman [autotag]Malik Autry[/autotag], and fellow four-star interior lineman [autotag]Antonio Coleman[/autotag] as pass rushers who will play their first collegiate snaps on the Plains next fall.

Auburn’s 2025 class is now officially up to 16 total athletes. Crawford is the seventh four-star recruit to join the class. At least nine other high schoolers are expected to sign letters of intent, with plenty of flip candidates still possible.

Auburn officially signs four-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman

Coleman is a top 20 defensive lineman in the 2025 cycle and a top 15 recruit from the state of Alabama.

Another domino in Auburn’s highly-touted recruiting class has officially fallen.

Four-star defensive line prospect [autotag]Antonio Coleman[/autotag] signed his letter of intent to join the Tigers on Wednesday, further bolstering an already impressive defensive line signee class that includes five-star recruits [autotag]Jared Smith[/autotag] and [autotag]Malik Autry[/autotag].

Standing at 6-2, 275-pounds, Coleman was ranked as a top 20 defensive lineman in the 2025 cycle and a top 15 recruit from Alabama. Originally committed to play his football across the state with Alabama, Coleman committed to the Tigers in July of this year before making it official on Wednesday.

Coleman, along with the aforementioned Smith, Autry, and likely Auburn signee [autotag]Jourdin Crawford[/autotag] should all make immediate impacts on the Plains when they begin their careers next fall. It’s a real possibility Coleman will receive a high snap-share as a freshman because of his size and skills.

The Saraland, Alabama native is the thirteenth high school prospect to sign his letter of intent with Auburn on National Signing Day. The Tigers have eleven “hard commits” that have yet to sign, along with a handful of “flip” hopefuls as well. No matter the case, [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag]’s 2025 class is trending towards finishing among the best in the country.

The most entertaining game for Auburn recruiting interest will be Friday’s 6A championship between Saraland and Parker. Five-star DL Justus Terry set to take official visit to Auburn

Auburn will make one final push this weekend to land one of the nation’s top defensive linemen in the 2025 cycle.

Auburn football will host Texas A&M on Saturday for what will be a critical game for a postseason bid. It will also be a crucial weekend for recruiting as one of the nation’s top defensive linemen will be on campus to take his official visit.

[autotag]Justus Terry[/autotag], a five-star defensive lineman from Manchester, Georgia, will take his official visit to Auburn as the beginning of the early signing period inches closer.

Terry’s recruitment has been a whirlwind to this point. He committed to his home state program, Georgia, in January 2023 before backing off in favor of flipping to USC in March. However, his commitment to the Trojans lasted three months as he announced his de-commitment from Lincoln Riley’s program on June 19.

Since then, Terry has officially visited Texas and Alabama according to 247Sports, with Auburn next on his docket. Before de-committing from USC, Terry took official visits to Florida State and Georgia.

Auburn wants to add to its impressive defensive line haul for 2025. The Tigers have already landed the commitments of four-star linemen [autotag]Nathaniel Marshall[/autotag], [autotag]Malik Autry[/autotag], [autotag]Antonio Coleman[/autotag], and [autotag]Jourdin Crawford[/autotag], and landing Terry would be the icing on the cake.

However, Auburn coaches must put on a near-perfect performance to sway Terry to the Plains. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Georgia a 95.8% chance to win back Terry’s commitment, while five 247Sports writers have logged “crystal ball predictions” for Georgia to land Terry.

Terry is a 6-4 275-pound defensive lineman who has earned five-star status from every major recruiting outlet. He is the nation’s No. 2 defensive lineman and ranks as high as the No. 2 overall recruit from Georgia for the 2025 cycle according to Rivals and 247Sports.

Recruiting expert expects Auburn to flip three-star WR from ACC program

Could Auburn flip another playmaker before signing day?

Auburn football has been on a roll lately by flipping talented playmakers such as [autotag]Derick Smith[/autotag] and [autotag]Antonio Coleman[/autotag] from rival Alabama.

[autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and his staff want to make the most of their luck by trying to flip another 2025 recruit, this time from an ACC program.

[autotag]Sam Turner[/autotag], a three-star wide receiver from Southwest DeKalb High School in Metro Atlanta, was a guest during Big Cat Weekend last weekend on Auburn’s campus. The Georgia Tech pledge had a great visit to the Plains, which is giving a recruiting expert the sense that Auburn may sign him to its 2025 haul. Cole Pinkston of Auburn Live has submitted a prediction in favor of Auburn landing Turner with 60% confidence.

Turner said that Auburn made a positive move during Big Cat Weekend, with the atmosphere of campus and the program sticking out. He is also a fan of the coaching staff’s priority of faith and their passing scheme.

“It’s a big deal,” Turner said in an interview with On3. “I like the faith part and they’re going to throw the ball. You’ve probably got five receiver guys as coaches from the OC (Derrick Nix) to the head coach, the head guy (Marcus Davis), the assistant receiver coach was the OC at Jackson State (Maurice Harris). There’s a lot of like-minded guys on the offensive staff.”

Following Pinkston’s prediction drop, Auburn now has an 87.5% chance to land Turner according to On3. He plans to announce his final decision on August 8.

2025 DL Antonio Coleman stands firm on Auburn commitment

Auburn has taken the four-star DL away from rival Alabama twice.

The recruitment of four-star defensive lineman [autotag]Antonio Coleman[/autotag] has been a roller coaster ride for Auburn and Alabama fans alike.

So it comes as no surprise that Auburn fans were skeptical of Coleman’s commitment announcement last week after he backed off his pledge to [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and the Tigers once before. He put those doubts to bed Tuesday during a High School media day event near his hometown of Saraland.

“I want to say, hey, War Eagle. I’m not going nowhere else,” Coleman said Tuesday. “You don’t have to worry about anything. This is home.”

Coleman committed to Alabama last September but changed his mind three months later following the retirement of Nick Saban and the hiring of Kalen DeBoer, which led to his commitment to Auburn. His original pledge to Auburn lasted until March, when he had a change of heart. He re-committed to Alabama and DeBoer, but ultimately went back to Auburn where he says he plans to stay.

As has been the case with several recruits that have originally committed to other programs over Auburn, Freeze and his staff never stopped recruiting Coleman. The persistence paid off as Coleman returned to Auburn’s 2025 haul.

“Well basically, I just want to first off say that I love Auburn, I love what they’ve got going on up there,” Coleman said. “I love to be a part of that. That came into me committing and flipping to Auburn.”

Auburn has added four members to its 2025 recruiting haul since Saturday, which has lifted their national ranking to No. 5 according to 247Sports. Coleman is the seventh top-10 recruit from Alabama to join Auburn’s 2025 class.

Auburn flips 2025 DL Antonio Coleman from rival Alabama

After backing off his pledge to Auburn in March, the Saraland product has returned to Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class.

College football recruiting is filled with drama, twists, and turns, making it one of our nation’s most popular reality television shows today. [autotag]Antonio Coleman[/autotag] proved that theory Saturday with his commitment to Auburn.

Coleman, a four-star defensive lineman from Saraland High School (Alabama), announced his commitment to Auburn for the second time during his recruitment. Coleman infamously backed off his Auburn pledge in March to join Kalen DeBoer’s debut signing class at Alabama. Before that, he changed his commitment to Auburn last December after originally committing to Nick Saban and Alabama three months prior.

During a visit to Auburn in June, Coleman told reporters that Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze never stopped recruiting him despite his decision to flip back to Alabama.

“Coach (Hugh) Freeze told me he’s not giving up even when I did commit (back to Alabama),” Coleman said. “That’s what I like about him. He’s determined, and that’s the type of people I would like to be around, but I’m still going through my recruitment.”

Coleman joined four-star cornerback Blake Woodby by committing to Auburn’s 2025 class Saturday. Auburn now owns the No. 11 recruiting class according to 247Sports’ 2025 recruiting rankings.

Alabama commit Derick Smith enjoys recent Auburn visit

Smith plans to return to the Plains for Big Cat Weekend in July.

Auburn football wrapped up another exciting recruiting weekend by hosting several commits and pledges to other programs.

Last weekend’s guest list included [autotag]Derick Smith[/autotag], a four-star athlete from Southside High School in Selma. He and fellow Alabama commit [autotag]Antonio Coleman[/autotag] flocked to the Plains, where they enjoyed their time on their arch-rivals’ campus.

Smith is projected to play wide receiver at Alabama but would have free range to choose his position at Auburn. This is why developing relationships with both wide receivers coach [autotag]Marcus Davis[/autotag] and safeties coach [autotag]Charles Kelly[/autotag] is important for Smith’s unique situation.

Smith says that Kelly’s success at Alabama from 2019-22 has piqued his interest in Auburn

“What (Kelly) did with defensive backs at Bama, he got 40-something DBs and safeties drafted,” Smith said in a recent interview with Auburn Live. “I feel like I could do the same. Coach Kelly is going to keep it real. He’s going to make sure I’m good.”

How high are Auburn’s chances of flipping Smith from Alabama? It all comes down to Auburn’s success on the field in 2024. If Auburn shows signs of improvement from its 6-7 campaign in 2023, Smith will have a tough decision to make in December.

Auburn will have another chance to sway Smith this summer, as he plans to attend Big Cat Weekend in July.

Alabama DL commit Antonio Coleman makes another visit to Auburn

In a back-and-forth recruiting battle, Alabama defensive line commit Antonio Coleman made a visit to the Plains last weekend

The recruiting process is a long road that can go back and forth weekly with different schools pushing for top prospects. Auburn is one of those schools that is constantly working its hardest, which is keeping them in the race for talented players.

One of those players is four-star defensive lineman [autotag]Antonio Coleman[/autotag], who is currently committed to the Tigers’ archrival, Alabama.

Coleman returned to the Plains for an official visit last weekend. It was his third visit to Auburn this year, and the second since he flipped to the Crimson Tide in March. He has flipped between the two schools twice in his recruiting process.

His visit was all about talking through what the program can do to make him the best player possible, which was largely led by defensive line coach [autotag]Vontrell King-Williams[/autotag].

“I spent a lot of time with Coach Vontrell,” Coleman said in an interview with Auburn Live. “We talked about the scheme that they run and things I could do to be a better player. We had a great time. He’s a great coach. He’s going to shoot it to you straight. If you have something going on that he feel like you can do to get better, he’s going to work his tail off to make sure you get to that level.”

The Saraland High School (Alabama) product is set to make a visit back to Tuscaloosa this weekend before returning to the Plains in late July for Big Cat Weekend.

Coleman is currently placed as the No. 129 player in the nation and the No. 11 defensive lineman according to the On3 industry ranking. He is also the No. 12 player in the state of Alabama.

Should he flip back to the Tigers, Coleman would be the third-highest rated player in their 2025 class, joining [autotag]Malik Autry[/autotag], [autotag]Jakaleb Faulk[/autotag] and [autotag]Jourdin Crawford[/autotag] on the defensive line.
