Former Steelers’ All-Pro RB and WR confirm Week 7 return

Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown are trying to correct their sour exits from the Steel City by confirming their attendance at Week 7’s game.

The formerly disgruntled pair of Steelers’ All-Pro players, RB Le’Veon Bell and WR Antonio Brown, made headlines last week as they attended Pittsburgh’s Week 6 contest in Las Vegas against the Raiders.  They not only supported their team, they also participated in the ‘Terrible Tailgate‘ with fans.

It appeared that the pair was not quite finished earning back the hearts of the ‘Steel City’ faithful, as Brown had posted on social media that this upcoming weekend he would be returning to Pittsburgh.  While speculation ran rampant as to whether he would attend the game or not, his former teammate Bell seemed to all but confirm the rumors.

Are you excited for the return of two-thirds of the ‘Killer Bs’?  The duo created a plethora of memories for the Pittsburgh Steelers and seem to be set on making new moments with fans.  Perhaps a potential reunion with Ben Roethlisberger is too much to ask for, but fans of the these elite players can only dream of such a day to arrive.

Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown reunite at Week 6’s Terrible Tailgate

Antonio Brown has started his reunion tour one week early, meeting up with his former teammate Le’Veon Bell at Week 6’s Terrible Tailgate.

Nostalgia is in the air for fans who loved the ‘Killer B’ era of Steelers history.  Two out of the three ‘Bs’, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown, visited Las Vegas this Sunday morning to party with the Terrible Tailgate.

While both former Steelers players have had their issues with the team in the past, it’s heartwarming to see the two talented playmakers, who created so many amazing memories for fans, reconcile their differences and enjoy the energy of Pittsburgh once again.

Antonio Brown recently made headlines when he indicated he would be returning to Pittsburgh next weekend.  Could Bell and Brown attend the Week 7 contest, where their former team hosts the New York Jets?

While it may be wishful thinking, fingers should be crossed for a possible reunion of all ‘Killer B’ members, including the legendary Steelers QB, Ben Roethlisberger.

Bell and Brown will be watching their former team attempt to stop their two-game losing streak against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6, on October 13th, at 4:05 PM EST.

93.7 The Fan host sparks wild Davante Adams trade conspiracy theory

The ‘Davante Adams’ fever has impacted Andrew Filliponi, host of 93.7 The Fan. Filliponi explains a possible conspiracy theory on Adams.

Host of the Pittsburgh-centered radio show 93.7 The Fan, Andrew Filliponi, has fallen under the same Davante Adams-esque spell that much of the ‘Steel City’ has experienced. Both former and current players, along with a large part of the Pittsburgh fan base, seem to be all in on the Raiders’ All-Pro wide receiver trade rumors. Steelers players like Antonio Brown and Cordarrelle Patterson have even attempted to sway the 31-year-old’s mind about joining the team.

With the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints undergoing severe roster and regime changes, sports commentator Filliponi believes that not only is the time right for Pittsburgh to acquire the Raiders’ WR, but also that Las Vegas is waiting until after their Week 6 contest vs. the Steelers to finalize the trade.

While this can clearly be broken down as speculation and wishful thinking, could Pittsburgh entertain the idea of Las Vegas delaying an additional week before shipping off their star receiver?

Regardless of the outcome of the Steelers’ Week 6 contest, if GM Omar Khan could pull off this blockbuster trade, fans will be singing his praises for seasons to come!

Former Steelers’ All-Pro WR returning to Pittsburgh

Former Steelers WR Antonio Brown has announced his return to Pittsburgh next weekend. Will Brown be in attendance for Jets versus Steelers?

The Pittsburgh Steelers, after losing two consecutive weeks, were in definite need of a shake-up. However, the return of disgruntled former All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown was not something many fans had on their bingo cards.

Brown left Pittsburgh after a falling out with the quarterback at the time, Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger.  AB felt his chance to win a Super Bowl had closed in the ‘Steel City’ and subsequently requested a trade. His departure from the Steelers to the Raiders marked a permanent hiatus from the team and Pittsburgh—until now.

His controversial past has made him a polarizing figure, but no one can take away his accomplishments on the field or his connection with inevitable first-ballot Hall of Famer Ben Roethlisberger.

Brown’s declaration of his return to Pittsburgh next weekend could coincide with the Steelers versus the New York Jets in Week 7, but fans can only continue to speculate until more information is released.

AB will be attending a Pittsburgh tradition with another formerly disgruntled Steeler, RB Le’Veon Bell, this weekend at the ‘Terrible Tailgate’ before the Steelers’ Week 6 game in Las Vegas.

Will Pickens’ immaturity lead to an eventual trade from Pittsburgh?

George Pickens’ immaturity is placing him on a path that similarly talented wide receivers from Pittsburgh followed: straight off the team.

A common rule of thumb in NFL locker rooms is that coaches would rather have receivers who demand the football than players who don’t mind being left out of the game plan for the week. The difference between the two is practically the definition of what Pittsburgh lacks: playmakers.

George Pickens is one such playmaker, with more highlight-reel catches over the past few seasons than most players have in their entire careers. However, the issue isn’t his ability on the football field; it’s his maturity off of it.

Pickens has consistently shown his true colors when faced with adversity—whether it’s a lack of effort on run plays last season, mishandling media responsibilities, unsportsmanlike conduct with Dallas defensive backs, or now the NFL’s investigation into the explicit language in his eye black from Week 5.

Receivers like Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Diontae Johnson have all been embroiled in off-the-field drama in one way or another. Pittsburgh handled this the best way they could: they traded them or let them hit free agency. Is Pickens the next one out the door?

Former Steelers’ All-Pro WR predicts Davante Adams to Pittsburgh

Former Steelers All-Pro WR Antonio Brown predicts that Davante Adams will soon be a Pittsburgh Steeler. Can Omar Khan make it a reality?

There have been plenty of former and current Steelers players lobbying for Davante Adams to come to the ‘Steel City.’ Rumors and speculation, such as Adams following George Pickens on social media, only deepen the rabbit hole of fantasy that we Steelers fans dive into.

However, one former Steelers receiver, five-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler Antonio Brown, seems to be making some accurate predictions on the Steelers’ player acquisitions and NFL moves. Brown correctly predicted the Steelers signing Russell Wilson well before it became public knowledge, and he did the same with the Bills-Texans trade for Stefon Diggs. Now, Brown has a new prediction, this time focused on a Pittsburgh trade:

Brown was one of the few speculating that Brandon Aiyuk would be traded to the Steelers, only for the deal to fall apart in the final hours.

Is the member of the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team onto something, or is this simply a former Steeler wishing his team luck? One thing remains for certain: if the Steelers are in win-now mode, Adams should be acquired.

‘Hungry’ Steelers WR Van Jefferson adopts Antonio Brown routine

Wide receiver Van Jefferson has taken up a routine of Pittsburgh Steelers great Antonio Brown.

Van Jefferson doesn’t want to disappoint himself, his Pittsburgh Steelers teammates or coaches as he did during a 2023 season that wasn’t up to par with expectations.

After five games that produced just 108 yards as a member of the Los Angeles Rams, Jefferson was traded to the Atlanta Falcons, where he managed less production (101 yards) in nearly three times the games.

For Jefferson, this season is all about returning to form — perhaps more along the lines of his 2021 season when he put up a career-high 802 yards and six touchdowns, helping his team get to and win the Super Bowl.

Jefferson hopes to achieve that in Pittsburgh. Throughout training camp, the former second-round pick was peppered with questions about Brandon Aiyuk and faced media and fan scrutiny over whether he was the right man for the No. 2 wide receiver job.

One routine Jefferson has adopted to help him return to form is something he learned indirectly from former Steelers great Antonio Brown — becoming one with the Jugs machine. Brown used to catch 300 balls a day, so Jefferson has made it part of his post-practice routine in an effort to improve his pass-catching skills.

“I’m definitely hungry,” Jefferson told Mike DeFabo of “The Athletic.” “Definitely chomping at the bit to get this going.”

Jefferson has experienced the highs of winning a Super Bowl during a career year and the lows of injuries that prevented more. Now all Jefferson has to do is prove doubters wrong.

Former Steelers star asks the question no one wants to hear

Could Antonio Brown be working on a comeback?

During his time as a player with the Pittsburgh Steelers, wide receiver Antonio Brown did things no other wide receiver has ever been able to accomplish. His stretch from 2013-2018 is unmatched in NFL history.

But once Brown left the Steelers in 2019, he’s become something of a meme with his outlandish behavior off the field as well as his struggles on the field. Brown hasn’t played in the league since 2021 and during that time he’s partaken in a variety of newsworthy activities but usually for the wrong reasons.

On Friday, Brown took to X, formerly Twitter and asked the question we all knew was coming but were just too scared to admit. Brown asked if he should come back to football.

There are really only two hangups in this hypothetical. First is if Brown is still able to play. His skills diminished in his three seasons after leaving the Steelers and he is 36 years old.

Second, and probably more important Brown isn’t good enough now to justify his buffoonery.

Former Steeler shares insider drama between Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown

Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown took very different approaches to practice and Brown didn’t like it.

The relationship between former Pittsburgh Steelers Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown has always been a soap opera. Despite putting up ridiculous numbers on the field, it always felt like their friendship was staged. This really showed itself when Brown went off the deep end and forced the team to trade him.

But where was the disconnect? Well, according to former Steelers long snapper Kam Canaday, it all centered around practice. Canaday talked about it on the “Keep Hammering Collective Podcast” where he shed some light on the issues with how both guys took very different approaches to practice.

“During camp, when guys were trying to work their absolute ass off to make the team, and he [Brown] still blowing everyone out of the water, still outworking them,” Kanaday said of Brown.

According to Canaday, Brown never let up when it came to his practice work and he had a problem with the fact that Roethlisberger tended to coast during practice and just show up big on Sundays.

“The guy had a motor, he didn’t slow down, and he was like that for 16 weeks, and I think that’s probably why him and Ben [Roethlisberger] probably got into it a little bit, because Ben had his two Super Bowls, and he got banged up, and Ben would sit out a little bit. He just liked to take it easy until Sunday.”

Canaday made it seem that Brown took it personally that he was not getting enough reps with Roethlisberger in practice and that would hurt Brown in games. Brown was incredibly talented but his focus was always more about his personal production as opposed to team success.

Who is the greatest WR in Steelers history?

Cast your vote for who the greatest receiver is in Steelers history.

The 33rd Team offered up their Top 10 wide receivers of all time and they included former Pittsburgh Steelers star Antonio Brown at No. 8 but he was the only former Steeler to make the cut.

This got us thinking about where Brown fits historically among the best receivers in franchise history. There are really four guys who can make an argument to be on top including Brown. As an old-school fan, I grew up watching John Stallworth and Lynn Swann and while their numbers weren’t great, both guys made their biggest plays in the biggest moments and you cannot diminish their impact on what is the greatest dynasty in NFL history.

Then there is Hines Ward. He’s quietly the statistical leader of the Steelers and one of only 14 players with 1,000 or more career receptions. Ward epitomizes everything it means to be a Steeler. He’s also been an impact player in the most meaningful of moments.

Then there is Brown. In terms of overall talent, Brown stands above the other three. And in terms of numbers, Brown had the greatest six-season stretch in NFL history. But you have to include Brown’s meltdown at the end of his time with Pittsburgh and the fact that for all his numbers, in one Super Bowl with the Steelers, a loss by the way, Brown caught one pass for one yard.

Cast your vote and let us know who you consider the greatest wide receiver in Steelers history.
