Undrafted Division III college player makes Titans 53-man roster

Undrafted Division III college player Anthony Kendall from Baldwin-Wallace makes the Tennessee Titans 53-man roster

In a lesson of never giving up on your dreams, newly minted Tennessee Titans rookie defensive back Anthony Kendall officially made the 53 man roster. Kendall was unranked as a high school recruit and received little interest from any schools at the Division I level. In lieu of his lack of offers, Kendall made the leap to Division III school Baldwin Wallace University where he played for five seasons.

What makes this story even more miraculous is the fact that Kendall did not play any any college all-star games, and was not even invited to the combine, so instead he took it upon himself to attend three different pro days during the draft process over a one week span. The numbers Kendall put up matched the best athletes at his position in the same draft class, and multiple teams took notice of his excellent athletic ability.

The Titans also had undrafted Caleb Murphy from D-II Ferris State make the initial 53-man roster.

Titans 2023 UDFA and CB Anthony Kendall has reportedly made the team’s initial 53-man roster.

We have our first 53-man roster surprise of the day, as Tennessee Titans 2023 UDFA and defensive back, Anthony Kendall, has reportedly made the cut.

According to Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston.com, Kendall will be on the initial 53-man roster. While not totally shocking considering he’s received praise from head coach Mike Vrabel on multiple occasions, it’s always at least somewhat surprising to see an undrafted rookie make the cut.

Kendall, who played his college ball for a Division III school in Baldwin Wallace College, managed to stand out during the offseason, but did so especially on special teams, which no doubt helped his cause greatly.

Over the course three preseason games, Kendall posted Pro Football Focus grades of 74.1 in run defense and 60.6 in coverage while tallying an overall mark of 64.9. He finished with three tackles, two run stops and a passer rating allowed of 58.8.

Browns stay close to home, invite Baldwin-Wallace standout to rookie minicamp

The Browns are inviting Berea’s own up the road for rookie minicamp

The football field that Division-III’s Baldwin-Wallace plays at is just right down the road from the headquarters of the Cleveland Browns in Berea, Ohio. And while he may have gone undrafted, one Yellow Jacket standout has earned an invitation down the street to attend rookie minicamp with the Browns. After a stellar pro day, Baldwin-Wallace cornerback Anthony Kendall has been asked to attend minicamp.

This is not the only minicamp he was asked to attend, however, as the New York Jets also invited Kendall in as well. We know the Browns love their cornerback depth, so Kendall has a shot at a training camp roster spot, but they have some competition as well.

Report: Rams showing interest in small-school DB Anthony Kendall

Baldwin Wallace University DB Anthony Kendall put together a strong showing at his pro day and is drawing interest from the Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are going to leave no stone unturned this offseason as they search for help in the secondary following the departures of Jalen Ramsey, Taylor Rapp, Nick Scott and David Long Jr. One player they’re reportedly showing interest in is defensive back Anthony Kendall, a prospect from Baldwin Wallace University in Ohio.

He’s a small-school prospect who put together an impressive showing in his workout, running a 4.44 with a 39.5-inch vertical and 11-feet, 1-inch broad jump. That would’ve been the fourth-best broad jump of any cornerback at the NFL combine, while his 4.35 short shuttle time would’ve been eighth-best at his position.

In 10 games played last season, Kendall had 56 tackles, one sack, three interceptions and a forced fumble.

The Rams are no strangers to finding talented cornerbacks at smaller schools, drafting Cobie Durant from South Carolina State and Robert Rochell from Central Arkansas in the last two years.
