Oklahoma makes top 6 for 2024 four-star RB Anthony Carrie

Oklahoma makes the top 6 for a talented four-star runner out of Tampa, Florida in Anthony Carrie.

[autotag]DeMarco Murray[/autotag]’s impact on the running back recruiting world cannot go unnoticed. Murray cast a wide net for 2024, and it’s paid massive dividends. Oklahoma has multiple options at the position this cycle.

[autotag]Caden Durham[/autotag], [autotag]Tovani Mizell[/autotag], [autotag]Jeremy Payne[/autotag], and [autotag]Xavier Robinson[/autotag] all have some projection that favors Oklahoma.

The Sooners will not be taking four running backs, so ultimately, the spaces will be a numbers game.

Added into that mix is another 2024 running back. Anthony Carrie joins the running backs tied to the crimson and cream as he listed Oklahoma in his top six via a post on his social media pages.

Carrie, a 247Sports composite four-star running back out of Tampa, Florida, is a versatile runner willing to lower his pads and fight for the tough yards. He’s not overly imposing in size, but he runs with real purpose and doesn’t shy away from running thru arm tackles.

At 6-feet and clocking in around 185 pounds, Carrie should be able to add more mass once part of a collegiate weightlifting program.

Outside of Oklahoma, North Carolina, South Carolina, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Ole Miss rounded out his top six. As it stands right now, it’s more than likely he doesn’t end up a Sooner.

Projections favor Oklahoma going in other directions at the position, but to be included in the top six for another four-star running back is a statement of the job that DeMarco Murray’s done on the recruiting trail.

Florida 4-Star running back has Notre Dame in his final six

The Irish could land one of Florida’s best

If there is one position for [autotag]Notre Dame football[/autotag] that there are absolutely not questions about the 2-deep in spring practice, it’s the running backs. [autotag]Audric Estime[/autotag] and [autotag]Logan Diggs[/autotag] return as one of the best tandems in the nation.

The future of the position is a bit different, but not without talent. [autotag]Jadarian Price[/autotag] is looking to get into the rotation and [autotag]Jeremiyah Love[/autotag] is on his way.

There is always a need for depth to be rebuilt and the 2024 class will most likely add another back with [autotag]Aneyas Williams[/autotag]. Florida’s [autotag]Anthony Carrie[/autotag] could be that player as he released his final six schools with Notre Dame still in the mix.

Carrie stands 6-feet and weighs 185 pounds while being rated as the 14th best running back and 192nd overall player in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Top 2024 RB prospect strongly considering Florida, talks January visit

A great impression made on his most recent visit to the Swamp has RB Anthony Carrie strongly considering the Gators.

One of the top running back prospects in the 2024 recruiting class reportedly has the Gators under “heavy consideration” to land his services.

Tampa native [autotag]Anthony Carrie[/autotag] is a four-star prospect and the No. 23 player in the state of Florida, according to the 247Sports composite. The Carrollwood Day running back recently visited Gainesville during the first week of January’s “contact period”.

Carrie had been on campus before but, according to 247Sports, was with a much smaller group this time around. This provided much more one-on-one time with the coaches and staff, which Carrie cites as being what he took away from this latest visit.

Running backs coach [autotag]Jabbar Juluke[/autotag] is spearheading Carrie’s recruitment and has been in constant contact with Carrie, even re-offering him last season after being initially offered a scholarship from the previous staff. The on-campus visit came the day after head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] was at Carrollwood Day on a recruiting trip, where Napier was able to get some facetime with the 6-foot, 185-pound standout.

Carrie currently has 12 schools on his list heading into his junior season. While a long list, Florida is confident that they are towards the top of the list given their relationship with Carrie and its proximity to home. Carrie even noted he wants to bring his family to Gainesville so that they may get a feel for the campus as well.

Carrie will make a visit to Penn State this weekend but did not disclose any other further visit plans to 247Sports.

Gators to get visit from this 4-star RB this weekend

This blue-chip running back is among the three recruiting visits the Gators have this weekend.

The recruiting dead period comes to an end on Friday, opening the gates for Florida football to get back to full steam on the recruiting front. The first order of business is to open up the Swamp to visitors as the limitations on contact expire, with the Gators hosting three top prep prospects this weekend.

One of the names dropping in to pay [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and his staff a visit is four-star running back [autotag]Anthony Carrie[/autotag] out of Tampa (Florida) Carrollwood Day in the 2024 recruiting class, who makes his first appearance in Gainesville since last September. The 5-foot-11-inch, 186-pound back is currently being courted by Florida’s running backs coach [autotag]Jabbar Juluke[/autotag] and defensive analyst [autotag]Jamar Cheney[/autotag] – both of whom have maintained regular contact with him.

After his prior visit, the high school junior offered the following to Swamp247.

“It was good. I got to see them use the freshman running back [Trevor] Etienne. That was good. That was the main thing I picked up from the game is that they aren’t afraid to use a back early. If you can play, you will play. That was the main thing I saw. The backs played really well and they are being coached up really well. I wasn’t really worried about too much else. Florida is really lacking at the wide receiver position right now, and of course AR missed a couple of guys high. I felt like the backs played well and did their thing. They played a freshman and rotated their backs throughout each drive. That was cool.”

Along with the Gators, the Georgia Bulldogs, South Carolina Gamecocks, LSU Tigers and Michigan State Spartans — among others — are in contention for the young athlete’s talents.

Carrier is ranked No. 144 overall and No. 13 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 consensus has him at Nos. 127 and 10, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Georgia out front for the Tampa native with a 34.1% chance, while Florida is right behind them in second with a 22.6% chance of landing him.
