Here is where Wisconsin stands in the latest Amway Poll

The latest coaches poll has Wisconsin in the middle of the pack

After another college football Saturday filled with surprising results, the new Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports is out. With an upset loss at Texas A&M, Florida were the big losers of the week falling from No. 3 down to No. 9. As a result of their upset win, Texas A&M climbed nine spots all the way up to No. 11 overall.

Ohio State led the way for the Big Ten at No. 5 just two weeks before the conference is set to begin their 2020 season. Wisconsin was the third Big Ten team listed, after Ohio State and Penn State (No. 8 overall), and the top Big Ten West squad at No. 15 overall.

Here is a look at the complete poll just two weeks away from the start of Big Ten football.

Predicting the Amway Coaches Poll Preseason Top 25

This list of top 25 teams will be based off of how programs did last season, talent returning, as well as the new signing class.

It’s really difficult to predict the college football preseason top 25 in any given year. But you throw in the coronavirus, the lack of spring and summer practices, and the fact that players all across the country are choosing to opt out of playing this season, and it becomes a near-impossible task.

It is still doable, however. In fact, it makes this year’s prediction of the top 25 that much more interesting.

This list of top 25 teams will be mostly based off how programs did last season, talent returning, as well as the new signing class and projecting how certain players develop.

Here’s how the first Amway Coaches Poll could look on Thursday:

1. Ohio State

2. Clemson

3. Alabama

4. LSU

5. Georgia

6. Oklahoma

7. Penn State

8. Oregon

9. Wisconsin

10. Notre Dame

11. Florida

12. Auburn

13. Texas

14. Michigan

15. USC

16. Texas A&M

17. Minnesota

18. North Carolina

19. Iowa

20. Virginia Tech

21. Utah

22. UCF

23. Tennessee

24. Arizona State

25. Memphis

Ohio State and Clemson could go either way considering both have a returning Heisman candidate quarterback as well as plenty of returning talent on both sides of the ball.

There’s so much this season that could quickly change the order of the top 25 including teams who choose not to play this season, as well as individual players who opt out this season.

The Amway Coaches poll will be announced Thursday, Aug. 6th.
