The top images as the Alabama softball team advances to the Women’s College World Series!

The Alabama softball team advanced to yet another Women’s College World Series on Sunday afternoon after defeating the Northwestern Wildcats 3-2 from Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Once again the pitching duo of Jaala Torrence and Montana Fouts helped secure the victory for the Crimson Tide who is now advancing to its 14th WCWS in program history.

After a one-hour lightning delay at the bottom of the third, two singles and a walk quickly loaded the bases for Alabama senior catcher Ally Shipmen who would hit a two-run single to give Alabama the lead.

Jenna Johnson hit a solo home run in the fifth to extend the Tide lead to 3-1. A one-out solo home run from Maeve Nelson of Northwestern cut the lead to one but a groundout and strikeout sealed the victory to send the Tide to OKC.

Next up for Alabama is a matchup with SEC foe, Tennessee in OKC on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. CT.

Alabama Softball knocks off No. 12 seed Northwestern in Game 3 to advance to WCWS

The Alabama softball team defated No. 12 seed Northwestern 3-2 on Sunday evening. The Tide will advance to the College World Series for the 14th time in program history.

The Alabama softball team dropped the first game of Super Regionals against No. 12 seed Northwestern, but the Crimson Tide battled back to win games two and game three. In the deciding game, the Tide defeated the Wildcats 3-1. Alabama will advance to the College World Series for the fourteenth time in program history.

In the series finale, graduate senior Ally Shipman and senior Jenna Johnson came through offensively. The two combined to have three hits and three runs batted in.

On the mound,  Crimson Tide pitchers Jaala Torrence and Montana Fouts combined to allow just one run and seven hits while striking out four batters.

The Crimson Tide will travel to Oklahoma City to face the No. 4 seed Tennessee Volunteers. The game will be played on Thursday with the first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m. CST. Also, the game will be televised on ESPN.

Alabama Softball advances to Super Regionals with 1-0 win over Middle Tennessee State

The Alabama softball team won a nail-biter in Sunday’s Regional Finals. The Tide defeated Middle Tennessee State by a final score of 1-0.

After losing game one of the Regional Finals to Middle Tennessee State, the Crimson Tide found themselves in a win-or-go-home game against the Blue Raiders. The offense struggled to accumulate run support, but one run was enough for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama defeated Middle Tennessee State by a final score of 1-0. Meaning the Crimson Tide will advance to the Super Regionals to take on the No. 12 overall seed Northwestern Wildcats.

Graduate senior Ally Shipman came through in the seventh inning with a go-ahead home run to left field.

Junior Jaala Torrence shined on the mound and was able to put the Blue Raiders away in the bottom half of the seventh inning.

Altogether, Torrence threw seven scoreless innings while allowing just five hits and striking out eight batters.

Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy will be coaching in his sixth Super Regional next weekend. The Tide are hopeful that star pitcher Montana Fouts will be back in the circle after suffering a knee injury in the SEC Tournament.

Ally Shipman enters transfer portal

Ally Shipman enters transfer portal.

Tennessee junior catcher Ally Shipman announced she has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

“Lady Vol nation, first off, I’d like to thank both Ralph and Karen (Weekly) for the opportunity to be a Lady Vol,” Shipman said on Twitter. “This university, this program, and this fan base will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you to my teammates and support staff for the relationships we have developed over the past three years.

“After lots of thought and prayer, I have decided to enter the transfer portal. This has not been an easy decision for me, but I believe it is the right one. Love you all and always GBO.”

Shipman is from Valencia High School in Valencia, California.
