The return of college football is quickly approaching, folks. After yet another national championship winning season, Nick Saban and company will be looking for a repeat performance in 2021.

Despite key losses, the Crimson Tide is well positioned to do just that.

The opening week matchup is against the Miami Hurricanes in Atlanta, Ga. set for Sept. 4. And with it now being July 6, we are now only 60 days away from the start of the season!

Alabama hasn’t had many players during the Saban era wear the No. 60, but there’s at least one worth talking about about. Of course, fans are already familiar with him, but it’s redshirt senior Kendall Randolph out of Madison, Ala.

Randolph has been with the program for over four years now after being rated as a high four-star recruit back in 2017. He was listed as an offensive tackle coming out of Bob Jones High School, but Randolph has played multiple positions for Alabama, including offensive guard and tight end.

For his final season in Crimson, it looks like he could be settling in exclusively along the offensive line, especially with Jahleel Billingsley and Cameron Latu ready to lock things down at tight end. But if Alabama needs an extra blocker on the perimeter at any point, Randolph will likely be the guy.

We also can’t rule out him starting somewhere either, as two spots along the offensive front are currently up for grabs.

Senior walk-on offensive lineman Jackson Roby is currently wearing the No. 62 for Alabama. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Huntsville, Ala. native has been with the Crimson Tide for several seasons now.

One of the most notable players to ever wear the number — at least during the Nick Saban era — was former nose tackle Terrence Cody, who was a key junior college transfer that helped transform Alabama’s defense into a juggernaut in 2008 and 2009.

Cody was eventually a second-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in 2010 NFL draft, but unfortunately didn’t last in the league very long after some off the field trouble.

No one is currently wearing the No. 63 for Alabama, but that could change in the future. There have been a few to wear the number in the past, however, including a few offensive linemen.

Former Tide reserve Kellen Williams was one of the first to wear it during the Nick Saban era, and J.C. Hassenauer rocked it soon after Williams.

Hassenauer went undrafted back in 2018, but he was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers. After bouncing between the Steelers, Birmingham Iron in the AAF for a brief period and then the Atlanta Falcons in 2018, he’s back with the Steelers and might have the opportunity to start this season.

True freshman offensive tackle JC Latham, a five-star out of IMG Academy in Florida, now wears the No. 65 for Alabama. At 6-foot-6, 325 pounds, Latham is a much different build than some of the other hogs who wore the number before him.

Deonte Brown, 6-4, 350 pound interior offensive lineman, wore it for the five previous seasons dating back to 2016. Before him, it was former first-round NFL draft pick Chance Warmack, who wore it from 2009-12.

Both of those guys wound up playing on the NFL, and many expect Latham to carry the torch and follow in their footsteps. In fact, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him have a better NFL career than either of those other two.

We are only 70 days away from ALABAMA FOOTBALL!

4. And with it now being June 26, we are now only 70 days away from the start of the season!

Former Alabama offensive tackle — and first-round pick by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2021 NFL draft — Alex Leatherwood wore the No. 70 for Alabama over the last three seasons.

Now that Leatherwood is off to the NFL, another talented big man is wearing the number, as rising sophomore Javion Cohen is switching to No. 70 from No. 57. After a developmental first season, the former four-star is positioning himself for a starting role in 2021.

Another notable player to rock in the number during the Saban era is former center Ryan Kelly, another first-round pick to the Indianapolis Colts back in 2016.

Alabama football countdown: 71 days until kickoff

We are 71 days away from Alabama football kicking off its season against the Miami Hurricanes at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

We have finally done it. We are officially under 100 days until the Alabama Crimson Tide are back on a football field. After another national championship winning season, Nick Saban and company are looking for a repeat performance in 2021.

The opening week matchup is against the Miami Hurricanes in Atlanta, Ga. on Sept. 4. With it now being June 25, we are now 71 days away from the start!

Junior offensive lineman Darrian Dalcourt will wear the No. 71 for the third straight season. And with the Crimson Tide losing three of its big men up front, the former four-star prospect will have an opportunity to earn a starting job in fall camp.

If he comes up short in that quest, Dalcourt will continue to make a valuable depth piece on the interior of Alabama’s offensive line. He’s been praised multiple times by the coaching staff through his first two seasons, so there is hope that he can take the next step in 2021.

In the past, other former standout offensive linemen have worn the No. 71, including Cyrus Kouandjio and Andre Smith. Both of which were selected early in their respective NFL drafts.

Five-star true freshman offensive tackle Tommy Brockermeyer will wear the No. 76 for Alabama. After the Texas native chose to sign with the Crimson Tide despite being a Longhorns legacy, the hope is that he can eventually become a force along the offensive front.

Other former Tide standouts have worn the No. 76, including the No. 11 in the 2013 NFL Draft, D.J. Fluker. After a successful career in Tuscaloosa, Fluker was taken by the San Diego Chargers. Since then, he’s started games with the New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens.

Earlier this offseason, Fluker was signed by the Miami Dolphins and will get a chance to protect former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa this upcoming season.

Fifth-year tight end Major Tennison has been wearing the No. 88 ever since he arrived on campus back in 2017. He’s seen action in a handful of games over the course of his career, bringing in a total of six catches for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Another former tight end, O.J. Howard, also wore the number during his four-year stint in Tuscaloosa.
