The Crimson Tide lost an epic game at Texas A&M by a 41-38 count, failing outright as 18.5-point favorites. Alabama had won 100 straight against unranked teams, while head coach Nick Saban had won 24 in a row against former assistant coaches.

Alabama at Mississippi State odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Alabama 38, Mississippi State 17

Money line

Alabama (-800) will cost you eight times your potential return. While it’s a near certainty the Tide will win, as they just don’t lose consecutive games, there’s no value in a -800 wager.

AVOID and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

ALABAMA -17.5 (-108) is going to take out its frustration against Mississippi State after a disappointing loss in College Station.

Yes, the Bulldogs have had two weeks to prepare for the Tide, but they could have two months and it wouldn’t matter. Alabama is mad, and a mad Tide team is super dangerous.

Alabama is still 8-3 ATS across the past 11 SEC games despite its loss last week. The Tide are also 5-1 ATS in the past six meetings.

Bettors, enjoy the ride.

Over/Under

UNDER 58.5 (-112) is the lean here based on the series trends, which are rather overwhelming. The Under is 16-4-1 in the past 21 meetings in this series, including 9-1 in the past 10 meetings in Stark Vegas.

The Under is also 5-0 in the past five games for Bama following a straight-up loss. For Mississippi State, the Under is 7-1 in the past eight following a bye, while going 11-3 in the past 14 at home.
