4-star CB Adonyss Currie announces college commitment

4-star cornerback Adonyss Currie, the No. 5 CB in the 2025 class, announced his college commitment on Sunday.

One of the top available cornerbacks in the 2025 recruiting class announced his verbal commitment on Sunday.

Unfortunately, it didn’t go the way of the Oregon Ducks.

4-star CB Adonyss Currie announced in the afternoon that he would be committing to the Texas A&M Aggies, choosing them over the likes of Oregon, Miami, Texas, Nebraska, and Washington.

Currie is rated by 247Sports as the No. 42 player in the 2025 class, and the No. 5 CB in the nation.

Before his commitment, Currie said that he was going to take an official visit to Oregon during his recruitment, so we will see if that still stands.

After landing an elite defensive back haul in the 2024 class, the Ducks don’t currently have any cornerback or safeties committed in the class of 2025.

Four-star defensive back sets official visit date

A talented defensive back has locked in an official visit with the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

A talented defensive back has locked in an official visit with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Adonyss Currie will visit the Lincoln campus on April 27.

Nebraska is one of five programs that the four-star cornerback is visiting. He will also visit Texas A&M (April 13), Washington (June 1), Miami (June 8), and Utah (June 15).

The Lancaster, California native told 247Sports that defensive coordinator Tony White has played a big factor in his interest in Nebraska.

“I really like Tony White, the DC a lot. He’s a former DB coach and knows the position really well. He sees a lot of potential in me and feels I can come in and play early and be an impact guy.”

California 2025 athlete is offered a scholarship by Notre Dame

Another offer to an intriguing athlete

It may seem like the 2025 recruiting class is a ways off, but, in actuality, it isn’t and [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] is trying to get ahead of the ball.

Already with one commit in that class, Florida defensive lineman Davion Dixon, head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] is looking for more.

One of those players is California athlete [autotag]Adonyss Currie[/autotag], who was offered a scholarship by the Irish on Monday. The 6-foot, 3-inch and 170-pound two-way player also excels on the track.

The speed Currie possess plays for both sports and he could end up on either side of the ball at the next level. He is rated as the 26th overall cornerback and 233rd prospect in his class on the 247Sports composite. Currie’s speed would look good as a wide receiver also.
