#Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes reveals Texas Tech’s new partnership with Adidas | @EdEastonJr

Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes’s offseason work isn’t over. He recently helped deliver a special announcement from his alma mater. Texas Tech is starting a new 10-year partnership with Adidas, making the brand the university’s official footwear, uniform, apparel, and accessory provider.

Mahomes took to social media to help reveal the news of Texas Tech joining the Adidas brand by continuing the theme of “ripping off the tape” to celebrate the start of the new partnership. In 2019, he had previously worn a shirt with tape covering the former team brand partner Under Armor during a visit to watch the basketball team.

Mahomes has been part of the Addisas family since joining the NFL and is prominently featured in the campaign to reveal the long-term partnership. The reigning Super Bowl MVP’s logo is also on display, adding another signature touch to the collaboration.

During his college career at Texas Tech, Mahomes accumulated 11,252 passing yards and 115 total touchdowns in three seasons. He was selected tenth overall in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Chiefs and has consistently supported the Red Raiders program.

Mahomes was inducted into Texas Tech University’s Ring of Honor in 2022, enshrined with the greatest players in school history.

The Anthony Edwards-Michael Jordan comparisons live on through this vicious sneaker commercial from Adidas

“[Expletive] buddy.” WHAT.

Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves might have been knocked out of the playoffs by the Mavericks in the most embarrassing way possible, but let me tell you something — I don’t care about any of that today.

Why? Because Edwards made me completely forget about it with his latest “Face of the League” ad with Adidas for his signature AE 1 shoe.

The campaign for these shoes has generally just been great. Edwards has been roasting rival brands and their athletes from the beginning while flaunting the AE 1, which is undoubtedly the best signature shoe in the NBA right now.

But, yo. This latest commercial? I don’t know how to describe it other than visceral.

In it, Edwards has a “receipts” machine that basically brings up old tweets and quotes from people. He goes at Carmelo Anthony hard in this one. He says “[expletive] buddy” after hearing a criticism from Cam’ron. He laughs at the rest of his haters.

It’s so incredibly petty and so incredibly perfect. I love it so much.

I know it’s en vogue to compare Anthony Edwards to Michael Jordan. Sure, you can see some similarities in their games.

But tell me y’all can’t see this being a Jordan sneaker commercial back in the day? I definitely get MJ vibes from this. It’s easily one of the best sneaker commercials I’ve seen in years.

It’s so perfect because it’s so Ant. This is legitimately how he seems to be. It doesn’t change when he’s on the court or when he’s in a press conference or when he’s doing a commercial. He’s always giving us his thoughts, unfiltered and uncensored. It’s great.

Keep it coming, Ant Man. More AE 1 madness, please.

Even though he came up short of his first NBA Finals, Anthony Edwards took a big step forward to let people know that he is one of the faces of the league. Ant signed with adidas back in 2020, and in September of 2023, adidas elevated Edwards as a signature athlete, where he would get the opportunity to release his first own signature shoe, the AE1.

Check out the shoes Edwards sported this season below.

Browns TE David Njoku stars in new Adidas commercial with Patrick Mahomes and other NFL stars

The Chief is surrounded by elite company.

The Cleveland Browns bet on the development of their super-athlete at tight end, David Njoku, and have won big. Now, fresh from his breakout season and first Pro Bowl appearance, Njoku gets featured in an Adidas commercial with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, and Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Njoku is starting to gain notoriety as one of the best tight ends in the NFL after racking up 882 yards and six touchdowns, leading all tight ends in yards after the catch in 2023. That contract extension looks like a bargain now, and don’t sleep on Njoku getting yet another new deal done next offseason if he continues in his dominant ways.

You can see the full commercial below, posted on Adidas’s Instagram page:
