2023 Lakers draft prospect profile: Adam Seiko

A look at Adam Seiko, a guard from San Diego State University.

It seems virtually impossible that Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell, Dennis Schroder and Lonnie Walker IV will return to the Los Angeles Lakers next season. All four guards are about to become free agents, and the Lakers likely will not have enough salary cap flexibility to keep all four.

Luckily, the team will have the No. 17 and No. 47 picks in the 2023 NBA draft, which could yield one or even two viable backcourt players. In addition, the annual crop of undrafted free agents might provide another diamond in the rough.

One guard the Lakers recently worked out is Adam Seiko of San Diego State University.

Brothers Adam Seiko and Arthur Kaluma shared a sweet hug after San Diego State topped Creighton in the Elite Eight

San Diego State’s Adam Seiko and Creighton’s Arthur Kaluma shared a sweet hug after the Elite Eight game.

San Diego State senior guard Adam Seiko and Creighton sophomore guard Arthur Kaluma shared a hug after a hard-fought Elite Eight game between their two teams.

The two siblings have now faced off in two March Madness games, but Seiko’s team defeating Kaluma’s team this year didn’t stop a really sweet moment of brotherly love after the contest.

Seiko’s San Diego State topped Kaluma’s Creighton, 57-56, on Sunday with a trip to the Final Four on the line.

It’s the first time in SDSU history that the school has made the prestigious final ranking of men’s NCAA tournament teams.

However, family always comes first, as Seiko and Kaluma didn’t miss out an opportunity to support each other after the final horn.

That’s a really cool moment between two siblings and excellent college basketball players who found themselves in quite a moment.

After Kaluma’s Creighton got to advance past Seiko’s SDSU last year in the tournament’s first round, it’s now Seiko’s turn to have Kaluma cheering him on in the stands.

Brothers Arthur Kaluma and Adam Seiko will face off again in a second straight March Madness clash

The Elite Eight’s Sunday clash between Creighton and San Diego State will feature a sibling rivalry.

Creighton sophomore forward Arthur Kaluma and San Diego State senior guard Adam Seiko will put their sibling rivalry to the test one again in the 2023 men’s NCAA tournament.

After facing each other in the first round of the 2022 men’s NCAA tournament, the two will square off in the Elite Eight on Sunday for a chance at the Final Four.

No. 6 Creighton and No. 5 San Diego State will try to settle who wins the South Region and gets to compete for a national title.

Last year, Kaluma and Creighton topped Seiko and San Diego State in overtime, 72-69, to advance past the tournament’s first round. This year, Seiko’s San Diego State will try to return the favor.

The elder Seiko recently praised Kaluma’s growth and talked about the potential for Sunday’s family clash with the Final Four on the line.

“You know, it’ll just be a surreal feeling,” Seiko told Hurrdat Sports about a possible Elite Eight matchup with Kaluma. “You know, something I can’t even put into words, really.”

The two brothers offered each other some social media support ahead of their Sweet 16 victories.

Creighton head coach Greg McDermott very much has a bias as to which sibling he wants to continue to play for the title.
