5 things to know about D’Andre Swift

Here are five things Detroit Lions fans need to know about second-round running back D’Andre Swift.

It’s the second round, and time to welcome some more players to the fold.

And now, lets find out 5 facts about the Lions newest running back D’Andre Swift from Georgia.

  1.  He’s pretty fashion-forward. He used to wear bright colored cleats in his high school days in Philadelphia. Speaking of those cleats, for a while, he played in soccer cleats. They don’t have spikes at the front of the cleat. So… they gave him an unfair advantage, and he had to take them off.
  2. During the combine, he was asked about his favorite cheesesteak.  Being from Philadelphia, he chose Dalessandro’s Steaks or Ishkabibble’s.
  3. His dad Darren Swift owns his own gym, Swift Fit Gym. He’s trained some of D’Andre’s teammates and other people in the Philadelphia area who wants to get fit. (Check out his IG @swiftfit215) But apparently, he cries at the end of the football season, because he’s so proud of D’Andre and the Bulldogs.
  4. He was recruited by many colleges including Michigan and Michigan State. He went with Georgia because of the trust he felt from Kirby Smart and the rest of the coaching staff.
  5. He may not have had the rushing yards that fellow running backs J.K. Dobbins or Jonathan Taylor had in college, but he was very fast and agile.

Welcome to the Motor City D’Andre.  Hopefully, you’ll love the coney dogs as much as the cheesesteaks!
