WATCH: Bizarre K’Waun Williams interception keeps Seahawks out of end zone

The #49ers’ got a bizarre INT from K’Waun Williams to hold the Seahawks out of the end zone.

The 49ers couldn’t have started the second half in Seattle worse than they did. Travis Benjamin fumbled the opening kickoff and the Seahawks recovered deep in 49ers territory. On a third-and-4 from the 5, Russell Wilson hit tight end Gerald Everett in the hands, but Everett tipped it in the air right to K’Waun Williams who snagged it for the 49ers’ second takeaway of the game.

WATCH: George Kittle makes arguably most impressive play of career

WATCH: #49ers TE George Kittle tightropes sideline for long TD vs. Seahawks.

There are a lot of impressive plays on George Kittle’s resumé. His 49-yard touchdown catch against the Seahawks on Sunday to put the 49ers up 23-14 late in the first half might’ve been the most impressive of them.

WATCH: Elijah Mitchell plows in for go-ahead TD vs. Seahawks

WATCH: #49ers rookie RB Elijah Mitchell crashes in for go-ahead TD vs. Seattle.

With WR Deebo Samuel out, the 49ers can turn to rookie RB Elijah Mitchell in the red zone. Mitchell after a big play from tight end George Kittle put the 49ers at the 8-yard-line needed only two carries to find the end zone for a 14-7 San Francisco lead. He’s up to five rushing TDs this season.

WATCH: Jimmy Garoppolo hits George Kittle for 24-yard TD vs. Seahawks

WATCH: Garoppolo. Kittle. 6. #49ers

No Deebo Samuel, no problem for the 49ers. After DL DJ Jones forced a fumble, the San Francisco offense took over at the Seattle 24-yard-line. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on first down fired a strike to tight end George Kittle for a touchdown over two defenders.

The throw was a good one from the QB and helped settle the 49ers down after a tumultuous start that involved a fake punt touchdown by Seattle and a three-and-out by San Francisco’s offense.

49ers vs. Seahawks preview, prediction and Seattle coffee shop recommendation

A preview of Sunday’s game with @TheSeahawksWire, and honestly it’s nice to see that team up there struggling for once. Plus: A Seattle coffee shop recommendation.

The 49ers need a win in Seattle on Sunday. While that’s always a scary proposition for San Francisco, this Seahawks team doesn’t quite have the teeth teams of yesteryear have had.

Zooming in on just this season though the two clubs have gone opposite directions since Week 4 when the Seahawks knocked off the 49ers 28-21 at Levi’s Stadium. Seattle has only one win since that game. San Francisco has rattled off four wins since then.

To try and get a grasp on what’s happening in the Pacific Northwest, we got in touch with our buddy Tim Weaver, the managing editor of the Seahawks Wire, to chat about a scuffling Seattle club ahead of Sunday’s showdown at Lumen Field:

49ers vs. Seahawks Week 13 game flexed out of Sunday Night Football

The #49ers and Seahawks matchup in Week 13 has been flexed out of Sunday Night Football.

The 49ers and Seahawks’ Week 13 showdown in Seattle has been taken out of the prime time Sunday Night Football slot per an announcement from the NFL. San Francisco vs. Seattle will move to Sunday afternoon at 1:25 pm Pacific Time. The Broncos-Chiefs matchup in Kansas City will take the vacant SNF opening.

It’s not a surprise to see the 49ers and Seahawks taken out of Sunday Night Football given where Seattle sits after Week 11. The 49ers will be at best 6-5 and worthy of a prime time slot, but the Seahawks are 3-7 with no real signs of life. There’s a real possibility it would’ve been a 5-6 49ers club fighting for a playoff spot against a 3-8 Seattle team just limping to the finish.

For the 49ers this eliminates a prime time contest, but they still have a Thursday night game left in Week 16 in Tennessee. San Francisco this season was 1-2 in prime time this season with losses to the Packers and Seahawks on Sunday Night Football and a win over the Rams on Monday Night Football.

Observations: Wheels come off in 49ers loss to Seahawks

The #49ers started hot, but fell apart as the game went on in a loss to the Seahawks.

The 49ers finally got out to a hot start with a touchdown on their first offensive series and three sacks in Seattle’s first five series. It wasn’t enough though in a 28-21 49ers loss to their NFC West rival.

Here is what we noticed in each quarter of San Francisco’s latest collapse:

WATCH: Dee Ford, Nick Bosa sack Russell Wilson

Watch Dee Ford record his second sack of the year with a strip sack against Russell Wilson. #49ers

The 49ers defense showed up in a big way their first two series against the Seahawks. They forced a three-and-out on the first series, then got Seattle in a third-and-long to start their second series. That allowed Dee Ford to pin his ears back and turn the corner on Seattle’s left tackle to drop Russell Wilson for a sack and a fumble. Wilson recovered the fumble just before Fred Warner could dive on it.

The sack was Ford’s second sack of the year and his first forced fumble.

Seattle’s third series saw them get in another third-and-long after a Jimmy Garoppolo interception set them up in 49ers territory. This time it was Nick Bosa getting the edge.

Bosa had a rough outing against the Packers, but getting to Wilson marked sack No. 4 for him this season.

49ers injury report: 2 key offensive weapons ‘questionable’ vs. Seahawks

George Kittle and Elijah Mitchell are both officially ‘questionable’ for the #49ers’ matchup against the Seahawks.

The 49ers’ injury problems didn’t subside much going into their Week 4 matchup against the Seahawks.

They’ve ruled one player out, another player is ‘doubtful,’ and three others are listed as ‘questionable’ in the Week 4 status report.

6 takeaways from 49ers’ Week 17 loss to Seahawks

The 49ers fought hard in Week 17, but couldn’t pull out a win over the Seahawks. There was quite a bit to take away from the defeat.

Sunday’s season finale was a roller coaster for the 49ers that provided one last gut punch in a season full of them. The 49ers were down 6-0, battled back to take a 16-6 lead in the fourth quarter, then fell 26-23 to finish their season with another loss.

Here are six takeaways from San Francisco’s final game of the year:
