Texas Football Recruiting: 2022 class commitment tracker

Steve Sarkisian’s first recruiting class will be one that shapes his tenure. Here is the recruiting tracker for Texas’ pivotal 2022 class.

One of the primary reasons that Texas chose to part ways with Tom Herman was due to the drop off in recruiting. The 2021 group finished as the No. 17 class in the country and second in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma.

Now that head coach Steve Sarkisian has taken over, recruiting has instantly been revitalized. The momentum began just one day after Sarkisian’s national championship win with Alabama, when four-star wide receiver Armani Winfield announced his commitment on Jan. 12.

In his first month on the Forty Acres, Sarkisian has landed a total of five commitments to the 2022 class and it’s currently rated the No. 7 class in the country according to 247Sports.

The coaching staff recently released the cycle’s motto as #22EFFECT. Sarkisian is aware that this recruiting class will have a lasting effect on the foundation that he is building with the Longhorns.
