2026 California tight end gets MSU football offer

MSU has extended an offer to a 2026 tight end with multiple connections to the school

Michigan State football has extended an offer to a prospect in the 2026 recruiting class. The Spartans have yet to gain a commitment in the class.

Luke Sorensen was the player to receive an offer from Michigan State.

The 6’4″, 230 pound tight end is a native of Anaheim, California, where he played high school football at Servite, the same high school 2025 QB signee Leo Hannan played. Another connection to MSU for the prospect is that his sister currently attends the university as a member of the rowing team.

Sorensen has received additional offers from Boston College, Cal, Florida and Wisconsin. Surely, the Spartans will be in the mix given all of his connections to the school.

Oklahoma Sooners earn commitment from 3-Star offensive lineman

The Oklahoma Sooners picked up their third commitment for the 2026 recruiting class in three-star offensive lineman Will Conroy.

The Oklahoma Sooners picked up their third commitment of the [autotag]2026 recruiting class[/autotag] on Monday afternoon, earning a pledge from three-star interior offensive lineman Will Conroy.

Conroy hails from Cleveland, Ohio and is the No. 14 interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. The Sooners beat out Michigan, Miami, Arizona State, and Florida in the recruiting battle.

Earlier Monday, Steve Wiltfong of On3 issued a prediction favoring the Sooners, and it didn’t take long for Conroy to make it official, committing to the Sooners later in the day.

“I love the culture at Oklahoma,” Conroy told On3. One thing about Oklahoma is they know who they are. They stand on that, and they don’t change for anyone. It is a storied program with a lot of history, and you feel that as soon as you walk into the building.”

In the On3 piece, Conroy shared more thoughts on Oklahoma as a program and offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh’s ability to develop.

The Sooners are just getting started in the 2026 recruiting class. Conroy joins four-star quarterback [autotag]Jaden O’Neal[/autotag] and three-star tight end [autotag]Ryder Mix[/autotag].

Oklahoma Sooners projected to land highly coveted 2026 offensive lineman

On3’s Steve Wiltfong predicts the Oklahoma Sooners to land interior offensive lineman with 20 Power Four offers in the 2026 recruiting class.

The Oklahoma Sooners have turned the page on the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag], signing 18 players in the class, including four offensive linemen. As the transfer portal begins to heat up, the Sooners continue to lay the groundwork for the [autotag]2026 recruiting class[/autotag]. One that currently features four-star quarterback [autotag]Jaden O’Neal[/autotag] and tight end [autotag]Ryder Mix[/autotag].

The Sooners now appear to be the leader for three-star interior offensive lineman Will Conroy. Steve Wiltfong of On3 predicted Conroy to land with the Oklahoma Sooners. Out of Cleveland, Ohio, Conroy holds 20 Power Four offers, including offers from 12 Big Ten and SEC schools.

He’s considered the No. 14 interior offensive lineman in the class by On3. Back in July, Conroy listed a top five that included Oklahoma, Michigan, Miami, Arizona State, and Florida.

Conroy plays with good physicality and continues moving his feet after contact. He does a good job of sealing players in the run game and shows really good awareness in pass protection.

He’s a player that will need some time to develop to add size to his frame in order to play along the interior in the SEC. But he’s technically sound and has a good base to work from.

FIW Exclusive: Interview with 2026 Notre Dame commit Sullivan Garvin

We got the inside scoop on the Irish’s latest commit.

Notre Dame now has five commits in its 2026 recruiting class. The newest is three-star interior offensive lineman [autotag]Sullivan Garvin[/autotag] from Allegan, Michigan, which is little more than an hour and a half’s drive from South Bend. Garvin made his announcement one day after National Signing Day for the 2025 class.

Although Garvin received offers from other programs after the Irish presented him with theirs Sept. 28, there was no doubt in his mind about where he wanted to go. So [autotag]Joe Rudolph[/autotag] has his first commit in this particular recruiting class.

Being the Irish’s latest commit, Garvin made the interview rounds in the hours after announcing his decision. Fighting Irish Wire was lucky to be one of the outlets to be granted an interview with him. This was made possible after communication with Tracy Garvin, his mother who took notice of us on social media when we reported on his offer from the Irish.

Here’s what Garvin had to tell us:

Our thanks to the Garvins for their time and effort with this, and we hope the younger Garvin has a fruitful career with the Irish.

2026 4-Star Running Back decommits from Oklahoma Sooners

The No. 3 running back in the 2026 recruiting class decommited from the Oklahoma Sooners Monday night.

The Oklahoma Sooners are in the process of trying to lock up their [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag], with the [autotag]early signing period[/autotag] set to begin. However, it’s the the [autotag]2026 recruiting class[/autotag] that’s taken a hit as late Monday evening, running back [autotag]Jonathan Hatton[/autotag] Jr. decommitted from the Oklahoma Sooners.

Hatton posted to X, “First, I give all glory to God! I would like to express my appreciation to Coach (Brent Venables), Coach (DeMarco) Murray and the entire staff at OU for all of the love and encouragement during this process. I wish them nothing but the best. I want to thank the fans of OU for their continued support since I announced my commitment. It was not an easy decision to decommit but I have to make sure I put myself in the best possible position to be successful on and off the field.”

Hatton was the first commitment the Sooners received in the 2026 cycle, pledging to OU back in October of 2023. With more than a year until the 2026 early signing period, Hatton will be one of the more highly-sought after backs in the class.

Hatton is a four-star prospect in the cycle and ranks as the No. 3 running back in the 247Sports composite rankings. He currently holds offers from 19 Power Four programs.

2026 Recruiting Class

  • Jaden O’Neal, No. 12 QB, No 187 player overall per 247Sports
  • Ryder Mix, No. 26 TE

Oklahoma Sooners near offensive coordinator decision

Oklahoma Sooners closing in on their next offensive coordinator.

The Oklahoma Sooners regular season came to a close in their 37-17 loss to the LSU Tigers. What has been the biggest question since the midseason offensive coordinator change will have an answer soon, according to Brent Venables via The Oklahoman.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Venables said they’d announce their offensive coordinator hire “in the next few days or so.”

It’s been an ongoing search for Oklahoma since they made the move from Seth Littrell to Joe Jon Finley.

“In the last couple of months, (we’ve) been working on finding the right fit for us from a coaching standpoint,” Venables said. “And (we) feel that we’re in a great position.”

Despite the offense’s struggles in 2024, it’s still an attractive job. Oklahoma has a couple of young quarterbacks who have shown flashes and have a commitment in the [autotag]2026 recruiting class[/autotag] from a talented four-star prospect in [autotag]Jaden O’Neal[/autotag].

The Sooners have been so synonymous with offense over the last 25 years that seasons like what OU’s offense has been through in 2024 are more of an aberration than the reality.

With a decision imminent, the Sooners will begin to turn the page on what’s been a disappointing season in 2024.

Nebraska adds three-star athlete CJ Bronaugh to 2026 recruiting class

Nebraska picked up their third commitment in the 2026 recruiting cycle earlier in the week.

Earlier this week, the Nebraska Cornhuskers added a new commitment to their 2026 recruiting class. Holding a pair of commitments from quarterback Dayton Raiola and wide receiver Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte, the Huskers added a commitment from Florida athlete CJ Bronaugh.

Bronaugh is a census three-star prospect across the recruiting industry and projects to be a defensive back at the next level. He’s been clocked at 4.3 in the 40-yard dash and 10.33 in the 100-meter dash.

In addition to the Huskers’ offer, Bronaugh also received offers from Arkansas, Florida State, Indiana, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Penn State, Syracuse, Tennessee, UCF, Wake Forest, and Wisconsin.

Detroit Catholic Central ATH to visit Michigan State football

MSU to host a key 2026 prospect from Detroit Catholic Central on a visit this weekend

Michigan State football is going to be hosting a key in state prospect this weekend for the team’s season finale against Rutgers.

Samson Gash, a Novi native attending Detroit Catholic Central, will be in attendance when the Spartans play for their bowl lives, taking an unofficial visit.

Gash, listed as a high 3-star athlete, is most likely to project to be a wide receiver in college. He is listed at 6’0″ and 180 pounds.

Gash has yet to receive a power conference offer, but many believe that those are on the way. He most recently has taken a visit to Penn State.

Four-star running back Shahn Alston places Auburn among top schools

The 5-foot-9, 205-pound two-way player is a consensus top 12 running back in the 2026 class

2026 four-star running back Shahn Alston narrowed down his preferred list of schools to eight on Friday. Auburn, along with Michigan State, Penn State, USC, Nebraska, Missouri, Florida, Wisconsin, and Nebraska, were the programs that made the final cut on his list.

The 5-foot-9, 205-pound two-way player is a consensus top 12 running back in the 2026 class. Alston, who plays his high school football in Painesville, OH, is currently the No.5 prospect at his position from the ‘Buckeye State’. He finished with a team-high 1,124 yards from scrimmage and 16 touchdowns (15 rushing) during his sophomore season for Harvey High School. The four-star recruit has improved on those numbers drastically during his junior season, as he is currently at 1,104 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns through just 8 games this season.

With Jarquez Hunter set to graduate after this season and current backup Damari Alston likely to finish his Auburn career after 2025, Shahn Alston could help create another two-headed monster backfield on the Plains with 2025 four-star recruit Alvin Henderson as soon as 2026. Until then, the high school junior will take plenty of time weighing his options before he either commits to a program, or cuts his list of schools further as we approach next season.
