Huskers making push for 2026 dual-sport athlete

Nebraska is continuing to recruit the state of Florida.

Nebraska extended an offer to class of 2026 interior offensive lineman Ryan Miret this week, as the program continues to try to make a push in the state of Florida.

Miret is the 49th overall interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class and the 80th overall player in his class from the state of Florida per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Right now, he has a Crystal Ball prediction for Miami.

He currently has seven offers on the table, a number that’s expected to increase. He is also a two-sport standout, having last lost to a wrestling match in December 2023. Since then, he has won 30 straight matches, according to a report from Husker247’s Mike Schaefer.

The Huskers are going to have their work cut out for them in this recruitment. If there is one advantage Nebraska does have in this recruitment, it’s that Miret has known outside linebackers coach Phil Simpson for quite a while. This will be an uphill battle given that Miami is making a strong push. However, the Huskers have done well in Florida as of late.

Huskers offer coveted defensive back

The Huskers were busy on the recruiting trail on Thursday.

Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule made a stop in Georgia earlier this week to visit four-star corner Dorian Barney. Rhule visited on Thursday afternoon.

Barney is the 10th ranked cornerback in the 2026 class and the 10th overall player in his class from the state of Georgia per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is a highly-touted prospect.

Barney has offers from the likes of Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Texas, among others.

He played in 11 games this season, recording an interception. He was able to burst onto the scene his freshman year, when he recorded eight interceptions in eight games, six deflections, and a fumble recovery, according to statistics from MaxPreps.com.

Rhule and this Huskers coaching staff have made a point to recruit down south over the last couple of classes. They are going after some of the bigger fish on the recruiting trail, and Huskers fans hope it pays dividends.

Huskers making push for four-star tight end

The Huskers are making a push for a top tight end target.

Nebraska football made an in-home visit to see four-star tight end Lincoln Watkins on Wednesday. Tight ends coach Marcus Satterfield went to the visit, as Watkins posted on social media.

Watkins has a growing offer sheet that includes the likes of Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Oregon, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Some of the out-of-conference offers include Miami, North Carolina State, and Notre Dame.

The Port Huron Northern (MI) tight end is planning to visit Nebraska on February 1 for their Junior Day, as noted in a report from HuskerMax’s Caleb Sisk. It seems like the program is making a strong push for the tight end.

Watkins recorded 17 catches for 272 yards and one touchdown in four games, according to statistics from Maxpreps.com.

The Huskers’ tight end room is strong for the future, headlined by Carter Nelson. Nevertheless, the tight end position looks to be important in a Dana Holgorsen offense, and Watkins has the potential to be a big-time playmaker.

The Nebraska Cornhusker football team has offered Florida EDGE rush Kamron Wilson a scholarship for the class of 2026.

The Huskers extended another offer to a 2026 candidate who is coming off a massive 2024 season.

Edge rusher Kamron Wilson currently holds no player rating following his junior year at Southridge High School in Miami, Florida. But the 6-foot-5, 215-pounder finished the year with 118 tackles, 32 for loss, and 17 sacks.

Wilson also finished five games in 2024 with double-digit tackles and six games with multiple sacks. His two best games came during Southridge’s 34-0 win over Hialeah in mid-September and its 40-8 win over Edison in early October.

In the win over Hialeah, Wilson finished with 10 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, and three sacks. In the win over Edison, he totaled 11 tackles, three tackles-for-loss, and two sacks.

In the state championship game, he racked up nine tackles, two tackles for loss, and two sacks.

Huskers to host four-star linebacker for Junior Day

Jordan Campbell will be coming to Lincoln.

Class of 2026 four-star linebacker Jordan Campbell plans to visit Nebraska on February 1 for their Junior Day. Rivals.com Tim Verghese reported this on Tuesday.

Campbell has been committed to the Miami Hurricanes since November 2023. He is the fourth overall linebacker in the 2026 class and the 10th overall linebacker in his class from the state of Florida, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The linebacker was busy last summer. In June, he visited a Florida State Seminoles camp, and in July, he received an offer from the Michigan Wolverines.

Campbell participated in the 2025 All-American Bowl and has been engaged with the Huskers and Oregon Ducks. He will also revisit Lincoln later this year.

The linebacker would be a tremendous addition to a Huskers linebacking group with a ton of promise. He had 70 tackles and six sacks in 2024, according to statistics from Maxpreps.com.

Nebraska football has a solid group of young linebacker talent, led by Christian Jones and Dawson Merritt. Adding Campbell would make for a lethal trio.

Huskers offer 2026 Navy All-American

The Huskers continue to search for defensive lineman

Nebraska football for 2026 defensive lineman Valdin Sone on Thursday. Sone made the announcement on X

Sone is the 45th overall defensive lineman in the 2026 class, and the 10th overall player in the class from the state of Virginia per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He has zero crystal ball predictions at this time. However, his offer sheet is extensive. He has 11 offers in total, including from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, and Georgia.

Sone was a 2025 Navy all-American honoree and was able to make an impact during the game. He recorded a quarterback pressure in the contest.

Nebraska football has made it a point to recruit the defensive line position over the last few classes. Sone is a talented player and his stock continues to rise. It will be interesting to follow the rest of his recruitment, as the Huskers try to make their mark.

Huskers offer five-star wide receiver

Nebraska continues to go after big-time playmakers.

Nebraska Football has extended an offer to 2026 five-star athlete Tristen Keys. He made the announcement on X.

He is the fourth overall player in the 2026 class, the top receiver in this class, and the top player in his class from the state of Mississippi per the 247Sports rankings. He has received one Crystal Ball prediction from the Tennessee Volunteers. He has 19 offers in total, including from top SEC schools such as Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, LSU Tigers, and Tennessee.

Keys was a dynamic playmaker as a junior in 2024. He recorded 1,275 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on only 58 receptions.

Nebraska currently has three commitments in the 2026 class. The class is off to a decent start, ranking 28th overall in the country per the 247 Sports rankings. Adding Keys would give them yet another dynamic playmaker.

The Huskers will have stiff competition for him on the recruiting trail. Nevertheless, they have made it clear that they are going to compete with the top schools for premier talent.
