Alabama lands in top 9 for 2025 TE Eli Owens

2025 tight end Eli Owens revealed his list of finalists and Alabama was one of nine programs that made the cut.

There are seven commitments in Alabama’s 2025 recruiting class. A player that Alabama is currently targeting to join that class is 2025 tight end Eli Owens. Owens recently released his top schools list. Among those listed was the Crimson Tide.

Owens plays for Alcoa High School in Alcoa, Tennessee. During his junior season, Owens hauled in 33 receptions for 385 yards and five touchdowns.

He can run block and catch passes at the tight end position. At the next level, he will likely be used as an in-line tight end. Ultimately, he would likely be used similarly to Alabama tight end CJ Dippre.

Owens has taken one unofficial visit to Alabama at this point in time. It will be interesting to see if he makes it to campus for a game this season or decides to wait until the spring to visit.

2025 5-Star DL Armando Blount includes Oklahoma in top 5

Top 5 defensive lineman in the 2025 class, Armondo Blount included the Oklahoma Sooners in his top five.

The Oklahoma Sooners are off to a great start to the season and in their [autotag]2025 recruiting cycle[/autotag]. With five commitments in the class, the Sooners are ahead of schedule compared to the 2023 and 2024 cycles.

They continue to gain momentum in 2025, earning a spot in the top five of top five prospect [autotag]Armondo Blount[/autotag].

The Sooners made the cut alongside the Miami Hurricanes, Florida State Seminoles, Ohio State Buckeyes, and USC Trojans.

Out of Miami, Fla., the Hurricanes and Seminoles have taken advantage of their proximity to the elite defensive line prospect, hosting Blount on campus for multiple unofficial visits.

But based on Oklahoma’s recruiting success since Brent Venables and his staff’s arrival to Norman, you can’t count the Sooners out until the prospect signs.

Blount is an incredible athlete who’s able to cause havoc off the edge with speed and power.

It may be a tough ask for the Sooners to earn a commitment from Blount, but they’ve had their share of wins and close calls in defensive line recruiting over the last year and a half. Don’t count out the Sooners.

One thing that Alabama head coach Nate Oats loves to have is positionless basketball players. Bundalo fits that profile to a tee.
