Notre Dame football singing ‘O Canada’ this weekend

Will he one day stand on guard for thee…Notre Dame?

On Friday, Notre Dame commitment [autotag]Sean Sevillano[/autotag] made his decision public.  As a result the Irish gained their 17th member of the 2024 recruiting class.  Sevillano plays his high school football in Clearwater, Florida now but is from Canada originally.

That wouldn’t be the only Canadian connection for the Irish over the weekend as they also made a scholarship offer to offensive tackle [autotag]Will Black[/autotag].  Black stands 6-7, 295-pounds and is in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Black is still filling into his body but comes with an impressive offer list entering his junior year of high school.  Notre Dame joins Michigan, Penn State, Miami (FL), Texas A&M, Nebraska, and several others who have already offered him.

Black is from Canada but attends high school at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut.

Recruiting Roundup: 5 recruits that Alabama fans need to keep a close eye on in July

here are a handful of targets that are set to announce their commitment this month, here’s who you should know.

Alabama is expected to pick up some steam on the recruiting trail in July. A number of 2024 and 2025 prospects are set to announce their decisions with the Crimson Tide being at the forefront in their recruitment.

Thus far, Alabama has 10 commits in the 2024 recruiting class and three commits in the 2025 recruiting class.

The 2024 prospects cannot take official visits until the end of July, so there will be a window of about three weeks where recruits choose to commit. Some will close down their recruitment while others will continue to take visits to see what other programs have to offer.

Ultimately, I expect July to be one of the biggest months in Alabama recruiting history. There are a number of recruits that have set commitment dates while others could decide to commit at any time. I really like Alabama’s chances of closing out the summer on a good note.

Roll Tide Wire lists five recruits that Alabama fans should keep a close eye on in the month of July.

Other key targets made their way back to Tuscaloosa for the June cookout that took place on Friday.

Typically, the summer months are the most important for the Crimson Tide. In recent years, Alabama has been able to gain multiple big-time commitments during that time frame.

Rodriguez is a native of Providence, Rhode Island, and attends Mount Pleasant High School. While not yet ranked, Rodriguez possess an impressive offer sheet and is one of the top prospects in the 2025 class at the wide receiver position.

Alabama MBB reaches out to 2025 prospects with contact period opening

The Alabama basketball coaching staff has been busy contacting 2025 prospects. See who they’ve reached out to.

The window for college basketball programs to contact 2025 recruits opened up on June 15 at midnight. Alabama is one of many schools that has taken advantage of the opportunity to reach out to some of the top prospects in the country.

The Alabama coaching staff has placed its priority on filling in the three remaining roster spots for the 2023 roster. Along with that, the coaching staff has also extended offers and shown interest in 2024 and 2025 prospects.

Needless to say, Alabama head coach Nate Oats and his staff are continuously on the recruiting trail.

Roll Tide Wire takes a look at which 2025 prospects the Alabama coaching staff has been in contact with over the past few days.

Oklahoma offers 2025 offensive lineman Jaylan Beckley

Oklahoma Sooners offer 2025 offensive lineman Jaylan Beckley.

Oklahoma has been casting a wide net on the recruiting trail, offering a host of prospects in recent weeks. 2025 offensive lineman Jaylan Beckley is just the one of the more recent offers to be handed out by the Sooners and offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh.

Beckley is 6-foot-5 and weighs 299 pounds. He’s from Addison, Texas, and plays high school ball at Trinity Christian Academy.

He currently has ten scholarship offers. Of those ten offers, nine are from Power Five schools. Beckley is currently unranked with On3 and 247Sports, but with an Oklahoma offer in hand, the two recruiting sites will have to reevaluate their North Texas prospect.

Beckley may only have 10 offers to date, but they include some of the who’s who of college football. Oklahoma, Texas A&M, LSU, Georgia, Clemson, and Texas are targeting the offensive line prospect and that number will continue to grow over the next year and a half.

The Oklahoma Sooners had a chance to see Jaylan Beckley up close and personal at last week’s Brent Venables football camp. His performance earned an offer from Bill Bedenbaugh.

Now the Sooners will continue to pursue the highly-coveted offensive line prospect. But with Bedenbaugh’s track record, they’ll have as good a shot as anyone on Beckley’s offer sheet.
