Oklahoma Sooners land prediction for 4-star defensive lineman

The Oklahoma Sooners continue to trend in a positive direction for 2025 interior defensive lineman Kole Briehler.

The Oklahoma Sooners are off to a great start with the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. The Sooners have already landed 13 commitments, and we haven’t even hit summer yet.

This is expected to be the smallest class since [autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag] took over, which means there aren’t many spots left. But they’re still working to land several more blue-chip prospects. On Tuesday, Rivals national recruiting director and rankings analyst Adam Friedman issued a futurecast favoring the Sooners for [autotag]Kole Briehler[/autotag].

[autotag]Kole Briehler[/autotag] is the No. 18 defensive lineman in 2025, according to Rivals, and the No. 7 player in the state of New Jersey. The three main players in his recruitment are the Sooners, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Stanford Cardinals.

Now, that doesn’t mean other teams can’t make their way onto the field, but those three getting the most buzz. According to On3’s prediction machine, the Sooners hold a slight lead over the Buckeyes. Briehler also has notable offers from Miami, Virginia Tech, Duke, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, USC, West Virginia, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.

He has official visits set up with all three schools in June; the Sooners get the last crack on June 21, 2024. That would be his third visit to Norman since November.

If the Sooners can earn his pledge, Briehler would join [autotag]Ka’Mori Moore[/autotag] and [autotag]Trent Wilson[/autotag] for the Sooners interior defensive line. Two of them would be coming from the Northeast.

There’s still a lot of time between now and the December early signing period but this would be a big recruiting win if [autotag]Todd Bates[/autotag] and company are able to pull it off.

Marcus Wimberly raves about the Oklahoma culture after committing to the Sooners

4-Star safety Marcus Wimberly recently committed to the Oklahoma Sooners and he talks about why Oklahoma made the most sense.

The Oklahoma Sooners got a surprise commitment this past weekend from 4-Star safety [autotag]Marcus Wimberly[/autotag]. Wimberly hadn’t previously made a commitment date announcement or even really hinted one was coming but he ultimately decided Oklahoma was the place to be and announced his commitment on April 6, 2024.

Wimberly made it 11 commits for Oklahoma. It’s also a huge win for safeties coach [autotag]Brandon Hall[/autotag] once again. Wimberly is 6-foot-1 and 183 pounds. He’s also ranked as the No. 9 safety in the class according to Rivals. He was up this past weekend on an unofficial visit and that’s when he decided to commit to the Sooners.

The Sooners ultimately beat out the Michigan Wolverines and the Arkansas Razorbacks whom he was once committed. Wimberly did an exclusive interview with OUInsider’s Brandon Drumm and Parker Thune about his recruitment journey and how he ended up committing to Oklahoma.

“It kind of goes to a phrase that I live by, ‘don’t talk the talk but walk the walk,'” Wimberly said. “Coach Hall would tell me all of these great things about Oklahoma and the team and this great culture that they have there and the family feeling. A lot of universities will say all of these things, but really, when you get there, it’s the polar opposite. So, when I got there, he meant what he said, and it showed.”

Wimberly went on to say he got that feeling after watching the team practice. He mentioned how [autotag]Billy Bowman[/autotag] was helping coach the other guys, but everyone was holding each other accountable. He then ate with some of the players and got their take on the culture.

“They were like, ‘Dude it’s awesome, you have a brotherly bond with everybody that you wouldn’t think you’d have in college,'” Wimberly said. “That’s what really stuck out to me and the [autotag]SOUL Mission[/autotag] stuff. I’m super strong in my faith, and I want to use my platform to reach as many souls for God that I can. And with the SOUL Mission stuff, I think it’s great, and they do a great job at doing outreaches.”

Since Brent Venables took over at Oklahoma, one constant review of the program from families and prospects is just how great the culture is. It’s a big reason why prospects commit and sign with Oklahoma.

Oklahoma Sooners trending well for 4-star, top-125 2025 cornerback

The Sooners are hoping to keep their momentum for a 4-star cornerback from Texas

The Oklahoma Sooners and cornerback coach [autotag]Jay Valai[/autotag] have been putting in the work trying to build depth at the cornerback position with the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. The Sooners are expected to land four-star [autotag]Maliek Hawkins[/autotag] later on Wednesday but they are also right in the thick of it for another 4-Star cornerback.

[autotag]Cobey Sellers[/autotag] is from Pearland, TX, and is a top-125 recruit and a top-15 cornerback. The Sooners will have to fight off the Texas Longhorns and the Texas A&M Aggies to earn his commitment.

They seem to be well on their way to doing that, landing a crystal ball prediction from 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst, Mike Roach.

The Sooners currently hold a lead over both the Longhorns and Aggies, according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Sellers doesn’t have a commitment date set just yet but the Sooners have been all of the momentum.

Oklahoma Sooners land prediction for 2025 4-star cornerback Maliek Hawkins

The Sooners will soon find out their fate for a talented cornerback in the 2025 class.

This week could be a huge week for the Oklahoma Sooners and their 2025 recruiting efforts. Just a few days ago, the Sooners earned a commitment from Marcus Wimberly. Now Oklahoma’s hoping to land the commitment of two other highly-touted players on Wednesday.

Four-star cornerback [autotag]Maliek Hawkins[/autotag] is set to announce his commitment on Wednesday. Hawkins is the brother of current Oklahoma quarterback [autotag]Michael Hawkins[/autotag].

But just one day before announcing his commitment, the Sooners received a prediction in their favor for Hawkins from 247Sports National Analyst Mike Roach.

The Sooners hold a commanding lead for his services, according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine. They have a 99.1% chance of landing Hawkins, according to On3, with the Texas Longhorns in second place with a less than 1% chance.

Landing Hawkins would be huge for [autotag]Jay Valai[/autotag] and the staff. He has really good size at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds already. He also competes in track and field. He recorded a 23.96 200-meter dash and a hit 21-3.5 in the long jump earlier this year as a junior. He also had a long jump of 20-2.25 as a sophomore.

Hawkins has legit speed and athleticism to be a difference maker at the collegiate level at corner and he knows what it takes to be successful as well. His dad, Mike Hawkins, also played at Oklahoma and then had a five-year NFL career as a cornerback.

Oklahoma Sooners get prediction for 2025 4-star safety from Arkansas

Sooners continue their hot start on the recruiting trail as they land a prediction for a talented 2025 safety.

The Oklahoma Sooners have another top-10 recruiting class according to 247Sports. The [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] is No. 2 in the SEC after the commitment of four-star running back Tory Blaylock.

They Sooners hope to add to that class next week with decisions being made by [autotag]Trent Wilson[/autotag] and [autotag]Maliek Hawkins[/autotag]. However, it remains early in the recruiting process and much work needs to be done.

The best place to start is getting predictions for the guys you are pursuing. That’s what the Sooners have been doing all week. They landed another one, this time from OUInsider’s Parker Thune, who issued a Rivals futurecast favoring the Sooners for [autotag]Marcus Wimberly[/autotag].

Wimberly is a four-star safety from Arkansas who ranks ninth at his position. According to On3, the Sooners have a slight advantage over Michigan to land Wimberly, according to the On3 recruiting prediction machine.

This pursuit will not be an easy one for Oklahoma to win. It has to fend off the defending champs as well as the home state Arkansas Razorbacks. That’s never an easy battle, depending on whether the kid wants to leave home.

They also have a numbers battle on their hands. I’m not saying the Sooners wouldn’t take him because they are pushing for his commitment. But [autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag] has already said this will not be a big class. He said this will be the smallest class he’s had so far. Oklahoma’s in a good spot to land the commitment of five-star safety [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag]. How many safeties will Oklahoma take in this cycle?

But Wimberly can play and the Sooners now have to close.

Oklahoma Sooners land prediction for 2025 4-star defensive end from Oklahoma

The Sooners landed a prediction to keep a talent in-state defensive end home in 2025.

The Oklahoma Sooners are off to a much faster start on the trail for the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] than they were the last two cycles. They already have 10 commits and are the favorites for a couple of blue chip prospects announcing decisions next week.

This week the Sooners have received several predictions for [autotag]Trent Wilson[/autotag] and [autotag]Maliek Hawkins[/autotag]. On Thursday evening, Parker Thune of OUInsider and Rivals issued a futurecast predicting four-star defensive end [autotag]C.J. Nickson[/autotag] to land with the Sooners. Out of Weatherford, Okla., Nickson is ranked as a top 50 player in the country, according to 247Sports. He’s also ranked as the No. 5 EDGE in the country.

There is no question that would be a huge get for the Sooners in the class. Plus, it’s always good to keep talented in-state products home. But for Nickson, he’s a guy many think could be a dual sport athlete. He’s also a talented basketball player. He earned all-state honors and starred on the AAU circuit. He helped lead Weatherford to a 29-2 season and averaged over 21 points per game as a sophomore.

So, this could be beneficial to not just the football team but also [autotag]Porter Moser[/autotag] and the basketball team as well if he chooses to play both sports.

The Sooners have to keep building that defensive line depth as they head into the [autotag]SEC[/autotag]. The SEC won’t let teams get away with it if they don’t have the talent up front.

WATCH: Oklahoma Sooners pledge trolls Longhorns during commitment ceremony

Oklahoma picked up another commitment on Friday and the Sooners latest pledge made it very entertaining.

The Oklahoma Sooners added their 10th player to the 2025 recruiting class with a pledge from four-star running back Tory Blaylock on Friday.

During a ceremony with family and friends at Atascocita High School in Texas, Blaylock had the hats for Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, and Texas on the table.

After sharing some words, Blaylock perused the hats, first picking up a Buckeyes lid. He set down the scarlet, putting it down in favor of the burnt orange Longhorns, which he donned for a moment before switching to the crimson and cream interlocking OU, saying, “Oklahoma baby, Oklahoma.”

It was a moment reminiscent of [autotag]DeMarco Murray[/autotag]’s All-American Bowl commitment ceremony, where he first picked up the USC Trojans lid before swapping it out for Oklahoma. Like Murray, Blaylock also spurned a team that was closer to his hometown for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Blaylock’s hometown of Humble, Texas is just outside of Houston and just under three hours from Austin. Murray’s hometown of Las Vegas is just under four hours from Los Angeles.

In Blaylock, the Sooners get a running back with great speed and contact balance. He’s a big play waiting to happen and adds another dynamic athlete to the Oklahoma Sooners 2025 recruiting class.

Top 10 player and top 3 offensive tackle in 2025 sets official visit to Oklahoma

Oklahoma received some big news about one of the most prized offensive linemen in the 2025 class.

The Oklahoma Sooners continue to lay the groundwork for several of the nation’s top prospects along the offensive line. While I’m a big believer in last year’s offensive line class, closing on some of these high-profile recruits in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] would be huge.

2024’s offensive line class has a lot of potential but it doesn’t have the star power 2025 could have.

Like the 2023 class along defensive lineman, there weren’t many high-profile guys in Oklahoma’s normal recruiting area along the offensive line in 2024. That’s why 2024 was massive for the Sooners on the defensive line. Equally, that will be the case in 2025 with the offensive line.

That’s why it was good news to find out the No. 10 overall prospect and No. 3 offensive tackle, [autotag]Michael Fasusi[/autotag], has set his official visit to Norman. He will be coming in on June 14-16.

This won’t be his first time in Norman as he’s made several trips over the last year. This feels like it’s coming down to a [autotag]Red River[/autotag] battle for the five-star prospect. The Texas Longhorns currently lead according to On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. But some believe Oklahoma is the leader for his services.

Still, that month will tell us a lot about where his head is as the following week he will be in Austin. So, if the Sooners can knock that visit out of the park, maybe they can get Fasusi to cancel that trip and earn his commitment.

Until then, we wait.

5-Star Denton Ryan offensive tackle sets official visit

The Oklahoma Sooners are high on another 5-Star tackle’s list and have found out when his official visit will be.

[autotag]Bill Bedenbaugh[/autotag] is already working his magic as he hopes to land some of the top prospects along the offensive line in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag].

This year he’s in on several five-star offensive linemen and he’s already landed the commitment from [autotag]Ryan Fodje[/autotag], a four-star offensive tackle who ranks in the top 80 nationally in 2025.

One who many think Oklahoma is in the best position for is five-star Denton (Ryan), Texas offensive tackle, [autotag]Ty Haywood[/autotag]. According to On3’s consensus rankings, Haywood ranks as the No. 13 overall prospect and the No. 2 offensive tackle.

On Sunday he announced when his official visit will take place to the Sooners. That visit will take place June 14-16.

Right now Oklahoma holds a major lead for Haywood according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine. They hold a 92% chance of earning his commitment.

If the school sounds familiar, that’s where current Sooner Billy Bowman went to high school. So, there is at least some familiarity there that could be in Oklahoma’s favor in the long run.

Still, with any five-tar prospect, it’s going to be a long process before you are able to land their commitment. Then once you get their commitment, it’s about holding it all the way until Signing Day which can be just as challenging as getting it in the first place.

Needless to say, Oklahoma has a long way to go.

Oklahoma Sooners pick up prediction for 2025 4-Star safety

The Oklahoma Sooners got a prediction for a top 120 player in the 2025 class.

No matter what time of year it is, college football never stops. Teams have to constantly be recruiting and building those relationships.

That’s no different than at Oklahoma. The Sooners currently have a top-five class in the country in 2025. Now, it’s early so it’s hard to determine exactly where they will end up. [autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag] has said this will be his smallest class since becoming the head coach because he doesn’t expect as much turnover.

Still, some think this could be his best class and maybe the best in the history of the program. One thing that could help that out is adding top 120 recruits. That’s what they would get if their latest prediction for four-star safety [autotag]Omarion Robinson[/autotag] came true. The Sooners received a prediction from Oklahoma Recruiting Editor for On3 Josh McCuiston on Tuesday night.

Robinson is ranked as a top 15 safety in the country. He received his offer from Oklahoma back on Jan. 23, 2023. Since then, one of the better recruiters in the country, [autotag]Brandon Hall[/autotag], has been hard after him to get him in the Crimson and Cream.

Oklahoma currently has an 88.9% chance to land him according to On3’s recruiting prediction machine. But it won’t be easy as they’ll have to fight off several teams including his home state Arkansas Razorbacks. If they are able to do so, it’d be another huge win for Hall and the Sooners.
