Tracking which recruits visit the Swamp for Florida’s Week 3 matchup with USF

The guest list is a bit shorter for Florida’s Week 3 matchup against USF, but recruiting never stops in the Swamp.

The Florida Gators have hosted dozens of recruits over the first two weeks of the season, but UF’s Week 3 matchup with the USF Bulls features a smaller group of visitors.

Four-star UCF commit [autotag]John Walker[/autotag], who is visiting the Swamp for the third-straight weekend, headlines the group of expected visitors. Fellow four-star defensive lineman [autotag]Jordan Hall[/autotag] could join him, but only time will tell if he shows up.

The rest of the group is made up of underclassmen. With 20 recruits verbally committed to Billy Napier’s class of 2023, Florida can start focusing on the next crop of talent more closely. With well over a year until that signing period rolls around, the Gators are targeting some elite talent.

Four commits are expected in town: interior offensive lineman [autotag]Knijeah Harris[/autotag], defensive back [autotag]Ja’Keem Jackson[/autotag], linebacker [autotag]Jaden Robinson[/autotag] and defensive lineman Kamran James.

Gators Wire will continue to update this list as visitors confirm the arrivals throughout the day.

Update: Walker and Jackson are no longer expected to visit due to a lack of transportation.

LSU could be an option for this 2025 four-star legacy offensive lineman

After several trips during the spring and summer, Brett Bordelon could be the next to follow in his family’s footsteps and join the Tigers.

The Tigers are one of several SEC (or soon-to-be SEC) teams in the mix for one of the top underclassmen prospects from the state of Louisiana. But beyond the benefits of in-state recruiting, they have a leg up as 2025 New Orleans interior lineman [autotag]Brett Bordelon[/autotag] is an LSU legacy.

Bordelon took trips this summer to visit the Tigers in addition to Texas, Alabama and Georgia, per On3’s Sam Spiegelman.

His father, Ben, was a standout offensive lineman in Baton Rouge in the 1990s, and his brother, Bo, was a three-star signee in the 2023 class. Brett is entering his sophomore season at Isidore Newman School where he is teammates with No. 1 2023 prospect [autotag]Arch Manning[/autotag], and he has the potential to be an elite prospect.

Bordelon’s signing day is a long way off, and most recruiting sites haven’t released rankings for the 2025 class. On3, however, lists him as a four-star recruit. For what it’s worth, the Tigers, who offered him back in December after his freshman season, currently hold a 99.9% prediction for Bordelon’s services per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

LSU would seem like a logical choice, but Spiegelman reports that the younger Bordelon is expected “explore his options a bit more” than his brother — who pledged to the Tigers 12 days after receiving an offer last January. Still, Spiegelman likes LSU’s chances.

A lot could change between now and Bordelon’s graduation in 2025, but coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] seems to be in a good position to land a player who could see his stock rise quite a bit over the next couple of years.

Florida to host elite 2025 defensive back for third visit

After stopping by the Swamp twice over the summer, one of the top in-state recruits in the class of 2025 is planning a third trip to the University of Florida.

It’s still a bit early to be talking about the class of 2025, but one of the elite recruits out of the state of Florida is planning a third trip to the Swamp after visiting twice in the summer.

According to a report from Gators Online, Seminole (Sanford, Florida) safety [autotag]Ethan Pritchard[/autotag] picked up an offer from the Gators over the summer and is in the process of setting up a fall visit. He camped with UF back in June and was at the invite-only Grill at the Ville cookout event following Friday Night Lights at the end of July.

“I have been there a couple of times and the coaches are great,” Pritchard told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I like their style, the defense they run, and there is a great energy at Florida. Being there with the new coaching staff feels like home for me. I will be back for a game this season.”

The class of 2025 hasn’t received rankings yet from On3 or 247Sports, but Pritchard should wind up among the top recruits in the state of Florida. FSU, Miami and UCF have also offered him, and Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops is the primary recruiter for him.

On3’s recruiting prediction machine has the Gators listed as a current 57.7% favorite to land Pritchard, but that could change over the next three years. As a freshman, Pritchard collected 25 tackles (14 solo), one interception and a sack. If he builds on that as a sophomore, and beyond, Florida could see some fiercer competition for his services.

Top 2025 linebacker prospect sets another visit to Florida

A top 2025 LB prospect Jadon Perlotte will be visiting Florida for the 2nd time this upcoming fall planning on attending the LSU vs UF game.

Billy Napier is making it a priority to establish a relationship early on in the recruiting process. This mentality seems to be paying dividends with 2025 linebacker prospect [autotag]Jadon Perlotte[/autotag] set to make another visit to Gainesville this fall.

The 6-foot-3-inch, 200-pound rising sophomore is considered to be one of the top prospects in the 2025 class. The Buford (Georgia) High linebacker holds offers from over 25 programs including Ohio State, Georgia, Texas A&M, Texas, LSU, Oregon and Miami, as well as Florida.

The Gators are hoping to make another good impression when Perlotte makes his return to Gainesville on October 15 for the highly anticipated game against LSU. Napier not only will be looking to impress Perlotte and other recruits, but he may have a personal motive to prove to the Tigers that passing him up for the head coaching job, given his resume and accolades up the road at Louisiana, was a mistake.

Perlotte being in attendance is one way of showing LSU what they missed out on given the recruiting rules laid out for 2025 prospects. As of now, programs are not permitted to directly reach out that class, meaning that in order for the Gators staff to speak with Perlotte, Perlotte must be the one to initiate contact.

This is a good sign, given how early in the process Perlotte is in his recruiting. Napier is going to need to put work in to land the highly touted LB, with Perlotte telling Gators Online that Ohio State and Georgia are the schools he is keeping up with the most. He is planning on visiting both programs this upcoming season.

Let’s hope that Perlotte’s visit when the Tigers come to town is impactful enough to catapult the Gators towards the top of his list.

Heralded 2025 quarterback prospect high on Gators after recent offer

A 2025 QB prospect recently received an offer from the Florida Gators, sending them towards the top of the rising sophomore’s recruiting list.

Tavien St. Clair, a 6-foot-3-inch, 190-pound quarterback prospect out of Bellefontaine, Ohio, recently took a visit to Gainesville where he attended the Gators’ annual Friday Night Lights event. He walked out of town with an offer from the Florida Gators.

The rising sophomore has been garnering quite a bit of attention so far. In addition to Florida, St. Clair holds offers from the Tennessee Volunteers, Louisville Cardinals, Pittsburgh Panthers, Iowa State Cyclones, Toledo Rockets and Central Michigan Chippewas.

His offer from the Gators came after a camp session where St. Clair was able to get one-on-one work with head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and offensive analyst [autotag]Ryan O’Hara[/autotag], both of whom worked hands-on with Florida’s quarterback room.

St. Clair recently told Gators Online that Florida’s rich tradition, including its three Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks combined with the track record and energy that Napier and his staff have brought in, are playing a big part in why the Gators are nearing the top of his list.

A highly-regarded 2025 prospect, St. Clair intends to make the rounds this season to get a better idea of what he is looking for in a program. He will be attending multiple games this season including being on campus at Ohio State, Louisville, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee.

Florida is intent on making its way onto St. Clair’s itinerary. If the Gators are going to make noise in recruiting, they need to continue to make an early impact on players of St. Clair’s quality in the future.

Gators getting familiar with this QB in the class of 2025

After two stops by the Swamp in two months, quarterback Tramell Jones is looking to further his relationship with the Florida Gators.

The Florida Gators got a good look at quarterback [autotag]Tramell Jones[/autotag], a member of the class of 2025, at the team’s Friday Night Lights camp, according to Gators Online.

Jones first stopped by Gainesville in June and picked up an offer, but this was another chance for him to get on campus and with the coaching staff. It’s still very early in the recruiting process for him, but Jones already has offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland and Pittsburgh. Ohio State, Miami and USC are also showing interest.

Head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and offensive analyst [autotag]Ryan O’Hara[/autotag] spent plenty of time with him and made it clear that he was a priority target.

“That was the first time I’ve ever been on the field at The Swamp before, and it’s just amazing,” Jones said. “Plus, coach Napier is just a great guy outside of football and a great human being.”

Jones appears more than willing to help build that bridge with the Florida staff. He has a high interest in attending UF and is hoping to get back on campus for another visit; however, he doesn’t have any dates planned just yet.

The On3 consensus does not yet have rankings for the class of 2025, but he threw for 1,253 yards as a freshman with a 14:5 touchdown to interception ratio. He completed just over half of his 160 attempts and should build on that performance this season.

2025 defensive lineman recruit receives Florida offer, ponders return visit

Gators look to get this big 2025 prospect back on campus after extending an offer recently.

Florida football’s Friday Night Lights and team cookout recruiting events brought a plethora of prep prospects to the Swamp at the end of July, giving [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and his staff an opportunity to host some of the best that the high school ranks have to offer. While a good deal of attention was focused on the 2023 class, the program was also looking ahead to the years down the road as the new administration takes a longitudinal approach to rebuilding the Gators’ gridiron brand.

One coveted member of the 2025 cycle is defensive lineman [autotag]Armondo Blount[/autotag], an in-state recruit out of Dillard High in Fort Lauderdale who made a strong impression on the team with his superlative performance in the Swamp last Friday night. The rising sophomore is already a hefty 6-foot-3-inch, 230-pound trench warrior and Napier definitely saw something in him, personally extending an offer at the conclusion of the camp.

“After the camp I went in and talked with the head coach for a little bit,” he told Swamp 247Sports’ Blake Alderman. “After we talked, he told me that I had a chance to come to their school and that I had an offer. He said my pass rushing is much better than a normal player my age. He said he wants to get to know me and was asking me about myself. He said he is someone he really wants there.”

Co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach [autotag]Sean Spencer[/autotag] also made a strong impression on the young student-athlete. “He is a good coach,” Blount offered regarding Florida’s assistant. “He coaches with a lot of energy and excitement. He coaches like he wants to be out there.”

The Gators have a lot of competition for the recruit’s talents, and despite growing up in the Sunshine State, the Orange and Blue unfortunately has not been a focus for him during his formative years.

“I watched some of their games growing up, but I don’t know too much about them. I know back in the earlier part of the 2000’s they had some really great teams. That was when I was watching them. They were crazy.”

As far as getting the coveted recruit back on campus sometime soon, Blount has an idea of his itinerary for the coming fall and plans on swinging back through Gainesville for a game that has yet to be decided.

“I am going to try to get to Alabama and UM for some games,” he told Swamp247. “Maybe Ohio State for a game. I am going to come back up to Florida for a game, but I have to pick which one I want to go to. I think I am going to try to go to the LSU game.”

Blount is currently unrated and unranked by the major scouting organizations but both Rivals and On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine have the Miami Hurricanes as an early favorite for him, with the former offering a Fan Futurecast prediction of 83% in favor of the ‘Canes while the latter gives Miami 31.9% shot. The RPM also has the Ohio State Buckeyes second at 27.9% while the South Florida Bulls trail behind in third at 2.2%.

Gators offer 2025 QB after impressive Friday Night Lights showing

After a strong showing at Florida’s Friday Night Lights camp, Colin Hurley picked up an offer from the Gators and is considered one of UF’s top priorities in the class of 2025.

The Florida Gators are beginning to make contact with some of the top players in the class of 2025, and Trinity Christian (Jacksonville, Florida) quarterback [autotag]Colin Hurley[/autotag] is one of the first in the group to pick up an offer from [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag]’s staff.

Hurley, who plays with 2023 Florida commit [autotag]Treyaun Webb[/autotag], was previously offered by [autotag]Dan Mullen[/autotag]’s staff, but the Friday Night Lights camp at the end of July gave him a chance to interact with the new coaches in the Swamp. He shined on the field and quickly was re-offered by UF, according to Gators Online.

“Being offered by the new staff at Florida means a lot,” Hurley told Gators Online. “Obviously, I was the No. 1 target for the previous staff, so it was important to get in front of the new staff and meet them while showing them why I’m the top QB in the country. I feel I did that.”

The rising sophomore got to campus five hours early to spend some time in the film room with Florida coaches. They went over his tape and Napier even compared him to [autotag]Anthony Richardson[/autotag], who is also a bigger quarterback.

It shouldn’t be long until Hurley returns to Gainesville. He told Gators Online that he’s “definitely going to that Utah game,” and he knows it’s only 67 miles from his home to the Swamp.

Hurley has already won two state championships with the Conquerors and is primed to have even bigger years as he matures and becomes an upperclassman. As a freshman, he threw for completed 144 of 257 pass attempts for 2,146 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also played limited snaps as an eighth grader.

2025 QB recruit making return visit to the Swamp this weekend

Billy Napier and Co. could be looking ahead to the future in this highly-sought 2025 propsect.

Chalk up another name to the growing list of prep prospects planning on paying a visit to Gainesville this coming weekend for the annual Friday Night Lights and team cookout events. The next name on the docket is 2025 quarterback recruit [autotag]Colin Hurley[/autotag] out of Jacksonville (Florida) Trinity Christian, who told Gators Online that he plans on stopping by on Friday.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 213-pound rising sophomore will meet [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and his staff for the first time after being courted by [autotag]Dan Mullen[/autotag] and his team previously. A priority for the former staff, he had made his way to the Swamp in the past and even received an offer. However, his end-of-July visit represents his first with the new regime, from which he has yet to re-receive an offer as of yet.

Among the other schools vying for the young signal-caller’s talents are the Georgia Bulldogs, Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, LSU Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Ole Miss Rebels, all of whom have extended offers to the coveted prospect.

Hurley is currently unrated and unranked by both the 247Sports composite and On3 consensus, though On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has LSU with a lead in a tight race for his signature early on with a 26.6% chance while Ohio State is right behind at 23.3% and Florida trailing in third at 10.5%.

This 2025 linebacker recruit listed Florida as his top school

Mantrez Walker, a top 2025 LB recruit, lists the Florida Gators as his early favorite to secure his signature.

Billy Napier and company are seeing their recruiting efforts pay off with some good publicity for the 2025 class.

[autotag]Mantrez Walker[/autotag], the 6-foot-2-inch, 210-pound linebacker out of Buford, Georgia, told On3’s Jeremey Johnson that the Gators are “at the top” of his recruitment. Walker took a visit to Gainesville last month and left with an offer in hand. He was even spotted at a recent practice wearing Florida Gators gloves.

While speaking to Johnson about his recruitment, Walker stated that the Florida offer was one he was looking forward to for a long time, stating that he felt Napier was “bringing back that old Florida mentality,” when describing how he felt about the program.

The rising high school sophomore has not been given an official ranking, as the rankings for the 2025 recruiting class have yet to be released by any of the big-name services.

In addition to the Gators, Walker currently holds offers from Arkansas, Georgia Tech, UCF, Duke, and South Carolina. He is also scheduled to visit Virginia Tech next week. Walker intends to return to campus multiple times this season for a handful of Gators home games, with those dates yet to be revealed.

While the On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Arkansas as the leader in Walker’s recruitment, On3’s Corey Bender credits that to the Razorback’s early offer and Walker’s multiple visits to Fayetteville. It seems like the Gators are poised to build a strong 2025 class around Walker.
