Boston’s Sam Hauser on his, uh, unforgettable moment in the Celtics’ duck boat parade

You never want to be trending on social media because you just lost your lunch at a very public event, except in one very specific context.

You never want to be the guy who is trending on social media because you just lost your lunch at a very public event in front of everyone. But there does seem to be an exception to this rule — namely, you need to win a title and puke at your own parade for such a moment to shift from a faux pas to a thing to remember fondly.

And such was the case for champion Boston Celtics small forward Sam Hauser, who recently opened up about that viral clip of his infamous loss of lunch in the City of Boston’s duck boat parade for the Celtics winning Banner 18. “I didn’t drink all playoffs, and I really didn’t drink much throughout the season,” said Hauser in a recent interview with Chris Long of the “Green Light” podcast C/O SI’s Bobby Krivitsky. “Everybody starts chucking drinks at you, and you just want to put them back for the people.”

“Then I hit a cigar, and that got me all spinny,” he added. “And then shortly after that, it was puke time.”

“I didn’t have my phone on me all day, so I think my mom pulled it up, and I don’t know how many times she watched it, probably a good 20 to 25 times,” said Hauser.

“I remember doing it, and in the moment, people were cheering. It was a quick rally after it, so I was impressed with myself.”

Kevin Garnett weighs in on the start of a potential Boston Celtics dynasty

“When I saw Jayson Tatum in the moment he did his ‘We Did It,’ he looked like he got it,” said Garnett.

There have been odd criticisms of what star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum did when the camera turned to him moments after the Celtics finally broke through to win Banner 18. But the man perhaps best known for any such post-title comments sees the situation very differently.

We are of course talking about Hall of Fame Boston big man Kevin Garnett, whose famous “ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!” scream has been burned in the league’s collective consciousness. Speaking on a recent episode of his Showtime Basketball “KG Certified” podcast, The Big Ticket gave his take on Tatum’s crowning achievement, and how he saw it.

“When I saw Jayson Tatum in the moment he did his ‘We Did It,’ he looked like he got it,” said Garnett. “It’s the culmination of all of the stuff to get there.”

“Real (expletive), when … Tatum did the ‘We did it’ moment that to me felt like it all clicked for him,” added KG. “It was a rush of visualizing all of the trials and tribulations over the years to get to this point.”

“The C’s ain’t no microwave made team, this was a team that has been built and molded for years now. This is the process it takes to build championship DNA lord, and they’re just getting started.”

Why wasn’t Kendrick Perkins invited to the Boston Celtics duck boat parade?

The comments he made on ESPN throughout the season may have played a role.

Why wasn’t Kendrick Perkins invited to the Boston Celtics duck boat parade? On the latest episode of the CLNS Media “Cedric Maxwell Podcast, the eponymous host Cedric, his cohost Josue Pavon, and guest Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe discussed the way Perkins is perceived in Boston after comments he made on ESPN throughout the season.

Notably, former Boston player and current NBC Sports Boston broadcaster Brian Scalabrine, who was Perkins’ teammate on the Celtics 2008 title team, said publically that Perk wasn’t invited to the parade. Scal was joined by former Celtics teammates Paul Piece, Sam Cassell, Eddie House, and Leon Powe on a float.

Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about why Big Perk got iced out.

Boston Hall of Famer Bob Cousy wants to attend the hanging of Banner 18

With a condition or two he has more than earned in our estimation.

When they say you are a Boston Celtic for life, few people can say it louder than 95-year-old Celtics Hall of Famer Bob Cousy. The original Houdini of the Hardwood made that even clearer when he set the conditions for attending the Celtics’ celebration for finally winning Banner 18 this fall on opening night.

“It’s something I would love to participate in, but I would have one condition,” said Cooz via Boston Dot Com’s Khari Thompson. “That I share it with my dear friend and the only remaining player left from the 50s and 60s, Satch Sanders, who doesn’t get enough attention. I would love to have him by my side.”

That is certainly not out of the question, though there is a good chance both guests he requested present will be there anyway. “And the other friend I would ask to join me is Governor Maura Healey who has become a good friend, and of course who has a basketball background,’ He added.

“She always references the Celtics and how they’re doing, so we’d talk ball and then solve the problems with the state.” Still, an important issue remained on Cousy’s mind.

“This puts us back ahead of the (Los Angeles) Lakers,” he noted. “o have been a part of that is as good a legacy as I could hope for.”

Bob Ryan reveals his favorite Boston Celtics backcourt of all time

Ryan has seen a lot of Celtics basketball in his days working the sidelines up to the present.

Boston Celtics beat writer emeritus Bob Ryan has seen a lot of Celtics basketball in his days working the sidelines up to the present, and his recent admission of his favorite Boston backcourt of all time might raise a few eyebrows. But the man knows Celtics basketball like very few others do, and when he makes such a pronouncement, we ought to listen.

And he did exactly that on a recent episode with the eponymous cohosts of the CLNS Media “Bob Ryan, Jeff Goodman, and Gary Tanguay!” podcast, sharing who most impressed him in the storied history of this ball club’s guard rotations. Hint — it wasn’t Bob Cousy and Bill Sharman.

Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what he had to say.
