Bengals sending WWII veteran to Super Bowl 58

The Bengals with an amazing gesture.

A longtime Cincinnati Bengals season ticket holder will be going to Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas, courtesy of the Bengals according to Ashley Kirklen of WLWT5.

George Klopp Sr., a 97-year-old World War II veteran who lives in Dearborn County, said he still remembers his first Bengals game in 1968 when the Bengals first started in Cincinnati, an exhibition game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Since then, Klopp has been to almost all of the games in Cincinnati.

His favorite memories as a Bengals fan are the Super Bowl teams in the 1980s and the 1981 Freezer Bowl, the AFC Championship against the San Diego Chargers, which was played in the coldest wind chill in history at negative 23 degrees. The Bengals won 27-7.

Klopp and his son will be in Las Vegas from the Friday before the game until the Monday after.

Super Bowl odds entering NFL Week 11: Lions notch their best odds of the season with cupcake schedule upcoming

This may be the last time to catch Detroit’s Super Bowl odds this long.

Let’s just say Detroit’s 32-point blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7 was a minor setback for a major comeback.

The Lions had been climbing up the Super Bowl odds ladder for several weeks leading up to that loss, riding a four-game winning streak to 13-1 odds at BetMGM, which were seventh-best in the entire NFL.

They fell back to 16-1 following the loss, but after two straight wins including Sunday over the Los Angeles Chargers, the Lions have their best odds of the season at +1200, with five straight games coming against teams .500 or worse — and two of the final three games after that against the Minnesota Vikings.

They won’t likely get much longer than this.

And here’s a look at the real-time BetMGM odds.

Super Bowl odds entering NFL Week 9: Bengals are working their way back into contention

The Bengals are back, just in time for a clash with the Bills.

At their lowest point, when the Cincinnati Bengals were 1-3, their Super Bowl odds at BetMGM had plummeted from 11-1 entering the season to 35-1 entering Week 5, just behind the Jacksonville Jaguars and ahead of the Seattle Seahawks. Not exactly the company they were expected to keep this year.

Going into Week 9, winners of three straight, the Bengals are back up to 16-1 just in time for a matchup with some of the company they were expected to keep. The Buffalo Bills (+1200) are coming into town, and the AFC pecking order might gain a little more clarity after this heavyweight battle.

Jets’ talks with Aaron Rodgers has so many people placing ill-advised 2024 Super Bowl bets

Are people forgetting the Jets are the Jets?

Do you believe?!

Could 2024 finally be the year the New York Jets not only break the NFL’s longest active playoff drought but also win their first Super Bowl title since 1968?

In other words, is this the offseason the Jets stop being… well, the Jets?

If they land Aaron Rodgers, bettors like their chances. It only took reports of New York’s interest in the four-time MVP for sportsbooks to improve the team’s title odds from +2500 to +1800. And after a contingent of Jets officials reportedly flew to California on Tuesday to meet with Rodgers, bettors went all in.

The Jets received more than three times the amount of Super Bowl bets every other team combined for Tuesday at Caesars. They received the most bets at DraftKings too. By Tuesday night, their odds were down to 16-1 at BetMGM.

Now is the time I should remind people Rodgers is still technically on the Green Bay Packers. We’ve been through this whole song and dance before.

Of course, where there’s smoke, there’s probably fire. So at this point, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Rodgers ended up in a different shade of green next season. But he’s also coming off the worst year of his career and, at 39, shouldn’t be expected to bounce back in a significant way. This could end up similar to Brett Favre’s move East.

The Jets have a solid young core and were potentially a quarterback away from being a real threat last season. But it’s not like the Packers were terribly constructed. Rodgers couldn’t get them to the playoffs in a weaker division.

Now, people are banking on him to not just get back to the postseason in a division with the Bills, Dolphins and Patriots, but get through a conference that also includes Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, maybe Lamar Jackson, and other young studs at quarterback?

Good luck with that. I’ll pass.

It’s never too early to bet on the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl again in 2024

The Chiefs are on a dynasty track.

Not even a minute after hoisting his second Lombardi trophy in four years, Patrick Mahomes was asked whether he considered the Kansas City Chiefs a dynasty. His response painted a picture for what’s to come:

“I’m not going to say dynasty yet. We’re not done.”

Even after playing in five straight AFC championships, winning three and claiming two Super Bowl titles, Mahomes still thinks the Chiefs can accomplish more. We’d all be foolish to doubt him.

Kansas City is the early favorite to win the Super Bowl in 2024 with +600 odds, and it’s never too early to get in. Those odds may never be as good as they are today.

[betwidget_gambfanduel]

Leading up to Sunday’s game, it was common to hear about how the Philadelphia Eagles were the better team. Anyone who dared to pick Kansas City did so for one reason only, and that was because of the man playing quarterback — the eventual MVP of the game — Mahomes.

But the Chiefs were painted as a bigger underdog than they actually were. They went 13-3 and earned the top seed in their conference just like the Eagles. They navigated a tougher playoff path to reach the big game. The spread was only 1.5 points. Sure, Philadelphia was maybe the more complete team, but the gap between the two wasn’t as large as people made it out to be.

And the Chiefs aren’t going anywhere.

Two players who scored touchdowns against the Eagles were rookies — running back Isiah Pacheco and Skyy Moore. Another player, Kadarius Toney, was a mid-season pickup. The defense was a middle-of-the-pack group in terms of points and yards allowed this season. This team has a ton of potential for growth, which is scary to think about.

As long as the Chiefs have Mahomes and Andy Reid, they’ll be in contention. But the team around them is better than people give credit for. A dynasty isn’t out of the question, and KC can cement itself as one as early as next season.

When is the 2024 Super Bowl? And where will it be played?

It’s never too early to look ahead to the next Super Bowl.

Just like that, the 2022-23 NFL season is over, and the Kansas City Chiefs are the newest Super Bowl champs after beating the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35.

Even though the season JUST ended and there’s probably still some stray confetti flying around State Farm Stadium, it’s never too early to look ahead to next year, right? We don’t think so anyway.

So when’s the 2024 Super Bowl?

Super Bowl LVIII (or Super Bowl 58) is set for Sunday, February 11, 2024, and it will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Next season will be the first time Las Vegas has hosted a Super Bowl with Allegiant Stadium now being the home of the Raiders, who moved from Oakland in 2020.
