Fans criticized refs for allowing 3-point contest participants to shoot with their feet on the line

If fans are betting on who wins, these rules need to get enforced.

For the second year in a row, Damian Lillard won the NBA’s 3-point contest. But it didn’t come without its moments of controversy.

Even after the competition was over and Lillard was crowned champion, the Bucks star point guard acknowledged that the refs were not exactly showing a lot of due diligence during the competition.

He said that while he saw referees on the court, he noticed that they weren’t enforcing the rules of the contest.

While the participants may have found themselves a bit distracted by the fancy LED court at Lucas Oil Stadium, the refs had more responsibility to not count the shots that were taken while players had their feet on the line.

Especially if fans are betting on who wins this competition, long 2-pointers shouldn’t count and these rules need to be enforced.

Victor Wembanyama looked so sad after losing in the Skills Challenge and it turned into a meme

Wemby looked absolutely CRUSHED.

Victor Wembanyama participated in the NBA’s All-Star Weekend for the first time but unfortunately, it didn’t have the best start.

Wembanyama, whose team did not fare well in the Rising Stars games on Friday night, also participated in the Skills Challenge on Saturday Night. While competing alongside other former No. 1 picks Anthony Edwards and Paolo Banchero, the rookie impressed when he was on the court.

But his group, partially because Edwards was shooting left-handed, did not live up to his standards. They lost to the representatives from the hometown Pacers in this three-on-three challenge.

After it was over, the French big man looked crushed:

When asked about why he looked so sad, Wembanyama said that his teammates just wanted to have fun.

But he clarified that in his experience, he has fun when he is winning.

His sadness quickly turned into a meme among basketball fans:

Fans love the cool LED court the NBA is using for All-Star Weekend in Indiana

This court definitely looks AWESOME.

The NBA showcased new technology with an LED court for All-Star Weekend in Indiana and it was hard to not notice this innovation.

While it was unclear beforehand how fans would react to the new look for the festivities, it didn’t take long for fans to immediately fall in love with what they saw at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Even though we won’t get to see the All-Star Game played on these fancy courts this year, fans seemed impressed with what the LED courts could do to entertain them during the festivities.

Q&A: Tyrese Haliburton on entering All-Star Weekend in an Indy car, the 3-point contest and more

“All of these people are here for All-Star Weekend, and I’m the Hoosier representative,” Tyrese Haliburton told For The Win.

Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton is one of the busiest individuals at the NBA’s 2024 All-Star Weekend.

Haliburton, who led Eastern Conference guards in All-Star votes from fans as well as media and players, earned an appearance as the starting point guard in the East for the All-Star Game.

The 23-year-old represents the Pacers, the hosts of NBA All-Star Weekend for the first time since 1985. He is just the fourth player in franchise history to ever make an appearance in the starting lineup of the All-Star Game. For the second year in a row, Haliburton will also participate in the Starry 3-point Contest.

Haliburton took some time to catch up with For The Win to discuss showing up to All-Star Weekend in an Indy car, the love he received from Larry Bird and Reggie Miller and more.
