18 former Eagles to play against Philadelphia in 2023

We’re looking at the 18 former Eagles who’ll play against Phladelphia during the 2023 NFL regular season

The Eagles have the NFL’s most challenging schedule, and they’ll have several high-profile matchups against players that had success in the midnight green.

The NFL schedule construction is a unique process that’s become even more complex thanks to increased parity, spread-out star power, and several dominant teams vying for a Super Bowl every year.

After winning the NFC East, Philadelphia will play the first-place teams in the other three NFC divisions and the Chiefs and Bills.

Based on last year’s standings, the Eagles’ 17-game gauntlet features the league’s most formidable strength of schedule (.566 win percentage).

With training camp fast approaching, here are 18 former Eagles who’ll face off against Philadelphia.

Jets scheduled to host both Super Bowl LVII teams in 2023

Jets scheduled to host both Super Bowl LVII teams in 2023

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are set to square off in Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday. That also means the New York Jets are assured of hosting the reigning Super Bowl champions in 2023.

Thanks to the schedule rotation, the Jets already knew they would be playing home games against both the Chiefs and Eagles in 2023. Now, it just so happens that both teams made it to the Super Bowl, meaning the Jets will have a chance to match their wits against the top dogs next season.

The AFC East is paired with both the AFC West and NFC East for next season. The Jets will host the Chiefs and Chargers from the AFC West and the Eagles and Commanders from the NFC East.

In addition to the Chiefs and Eagles, the Jets will also host the Bills, Dolphins and Chargers among 2022 playoff teams and are scheduled to visit the Bills, Dolphins, Cowboys and Giants (which is essentially a 10th home game for the Jets). That means nine of the Jets’ 17 games next season are against 2022 playoff teams. A tough road, to say the least.

Opponents finalized on Green Bay Packers’ 2023 schedule

The Packers will play the NFC South and AFC West in 2023, plus a few games against other third-place finishers in 2022. Here are the opponents on next year’s schedule.

The Green Bay Packers lost to the Detroit Lions in the season finale on Sunday night. Matt LaFleur’s team missed the postseason and finished 8-9 and third in the NFC North to end the 2022 season.

A lot must be decided in Green Bay between now, the start of the offseason, and early summer, when the 2023 schedule is released. But with the NFL regular season over, the Packers now know their opponents.

Next season, Green Bay will play the NFC South and AFC West divisions, plus home and away games against the NFC North. As a third-place finisher in the division, the Packers locked in games against the Los Angeles Rams, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Overall, LaFleur’s team will play eight games at home and nine on the road. The Packers have only six games against playoff teams from this year, including just two on the road, but a lot can and will change with all these teams entering 2023.

Here are the opponents on next year’s schedule:

New Orleans Saints
Kansas City Chiefs*

Rams’ 2023 opponents are set: Who will LA face next season?

With the Rams finishing 3rd in the NFC West, we now know who they’ll face in 2023

No one could have predicted the Rams would finish the 2022 season at 5-12, but injuries, poor play from key players and an ineffective offense dragged them down all year. And so Los Angeles goes from first to third in the NFC West, finishing behind the 49ers and Seahawks in the division.

Now that the regular season is wrapped up, we know exactly who the Rams will face in 2023. We just don’t know when because, well, the schedule hasn’t been released yet. They’ll take on each team in the NFC East and AFC North as part of the usual division rotation, with the third-place NFC South team, third-place NFC North team and third-place AFC South teams also on the schedule.

Here’s a look at their home and away opponents.

Colts’ 2023 opponents officially set

Here are the 2023 opponents the Colts will face.

The Indianapolis Colts concluded the 2022 season Sunday with a divisional loss against the Houston Texans, missing out on the playoffs for the sixth time in the last eight seasons.

While we will be taking a look at the offseason moving forward, we now know who the Colts will be playing during the 2023 season. The schedule won’t be released until the spring, but we know who the opponents are.

The Colts will play their typical six games in the division, both home and away. They also will play the entire NFC South and AFC North divisions, comprising of eight total games. The three remaining games will come against the third-place teams in the AFC East, AFC West and NFC West.

The outcomes of the afternoon games for the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams will be updated when they’re concluded. Whichever team finishes in third place is who the Colts will play.

Here’s a look at the 2023 opponents for the Colts:

A look at the Jets opponents in 2023

With the 2022 season officially in the books, the 2023 season is underway and the work begins on ending what is now a 12-year postseason drought. The list of opponents on that road in 2023 is also completely set with the regular season standings wrapped up, at least with the Jets finishing in last place in the AFC East following their 11-6 loss to the Miami Dolphins to finish 7-10.

14 of the 17 games were already known thanks to the schedule rotation. As always, the Jets will have their six divisional games against the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots.

2023 matches up the AFC East against the AFC West. The Jets will be home against the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers and will visit the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders.

With the interconference rotation, the AFC East will be paired with the NFC East. The Jets will host the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders and be on the road against the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants. As a result, the Jets will effectively have ten home games thanks to be the road team against the Giants and 2023 being a year where AFC teams will have nine home games.

New York’s remaining AFC opponents will be home against the Houston Texans and on the road against the Cleveland Browns. Their “17th game” will be at home against the Atlanta Falcons.

Jaguars opponents for 2023 schedule set

The Jaguars will play a first-place schedule next year.

The Jacksonville Jaguars secured the AFC South title Saturday night and are now set to host a playoff game next weekend.

While all eyes are still firmly on the Jaguars in the present, the win also made the team’s list of 2023 opponents official:

Home games

  • Houston Texans
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Tennessee Titans
  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Carolina Panthers
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • San Francisco 49ers

Away games

  • Houston Texans
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Tennessee Titans
  • Cleveland Browns
  • New Orleans Saints
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Buffalo Bills

Matchups against AFC South opponents are a given, and the schedule rotation calls for the Jaguars to meet the AFC North and NFC South in 2023.

By locking up the division title, the Jaguars are set to meet the champions of the AFC West, NFC West, and AFC East. While Jacksonville needed Week 18 to secure their title, those three divisions were already clinched by the Chiefs, 49ers and Bills.

It looks likely to be a difficult road for the Jaguars in 2023, but it’s never easy to be the king.
