The Oscars’ performance of ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’ was a mess and Disney fans weren’t happy

Justice for “RATS ALONG HIS BACK”!

Millions of people tuned into the 2022 Oscars on Sunday for one thing and one thing only… the first official live performance of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Disney’s Encanto.

Sure, there may have been a prestigious award ceremony going on, but what fans really wanted to see and hear was the earworm of a song that’s captured the hearts of many all across the world. And folks, I’m sad to say it was quite the disappointment all around.

While earlier in the night, Encanto picked up the award for Best Animated Feature, Disney fans were quite let down by the live performance of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” — the smash-hit song that wasn’t even nominated for an Oscar itself! Instead of performing the song in full with the full cast, Megan Thee Stallion, Becky G, and Luis Fonsi filled in with a rap while… changing the lyrics to the song all together?

In short, it was a mess of a performance.

Yeah that… wasn’t great! To say Disney fans, and just fans of the song in general, weren’t happy is an understatement.
