Ohio State vs. Iowa kick time announced

We now know what time the kick will be for the Iowa game. #GoBucks

As the Ohio State football season moves on, we’ll start to get kick times for some of the still TBD times out there. It’s just the nature of how things work. On that note, we just received word on Monday that Ohio State’s game against Iowa in the ‘Shoe will be a Noon ET kick.

If it feels like it’s been a while since the Buckeyes have had a nooner, that’s because it has been. OSU has had three night games already this year, and just one Noon kick that was back in Week 2 vs. Arkansas State. We already know that the Michigan game will also kick off at Noon, but the others have yeat to be announced, so we’ll continue to monitor those as well.

There’s not a line on the game yet as Ohio State is enjoying its bye week to get some much needed rest and hopefully get some guys with injuries back. Stay with us as we reflect upon the first six weeks of the season during the off time and then as we ramp up for the Hawkeyes.

Ohio State Football Schedule What To Know: Who do the Buckeyes miss from the Big Ten West Division?

It’s Ohio State so it’s not going to freak out about playing anyone, but having to play defending West champ Iowa and having to play Wisconsin isn’t a the best of breaks. However, both games are at home, and having to go on the road to face Northwestern shouldn’t be an issue.

In division play, they have to go to Michigan State and Penn State, but the date with Michigan is back in Columbus this time around.

Ohio State Football Schedule What To Know: Get rolling early and own home field

There can be a misfire on the road against Penn State or Michigan State and be okay as long as Ohio State dominates at home.

Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan – all four should be in the preseason top 25 – and maybe flirt with the top 15 – but again, they’re all home games. Starting out with five straight in Ohio Stadium should be just the warmup for the run of four road trips in six dates.

Ohio State Football Schedule What To Know: What does it all really mean?

To keep hammering this home, it’s not all that bad as long as everything works out early and as long as any mistakes come on the road. As long as there’s a win over the Irish in the opener, the tone should be set the rest of the way.

It’s Ohio State, so it’s College Football Playoff or bust. For almost anyone else this slate would be a forget-about-it-killer. For this program, 11-1 is more than possible.

Way-too-early Ohio State football game-by-game predictions

In a way-too-early look, we predict every game on Ohio State football’s schedule for 2022.

Though most college football programs would be more than content with an 11-2 record and a Rose Bowl victory, at Ohio State, things fell short of expectations. For the first time since 2015, there was no Big Ten title or College Football Playoff appearance to flaunt.

And while the Buckeyes were one of the youngest teams in the country, the talent was there to make a run at some really special things. The defense wasn’t up to par, and the physicality in the trenches was lacking at key times of the season, and that kept the full potential from becoming a reality.

Now it’s time to look ahead and see what things look like for next season. Can Ohio State bounce back and get back to winning the Big Ten and being a part of all the playoff fun in 2022? Many think so, and with all the staffing overhauls head coach Ryan Day orchestrated after the end of the regular season, it sure feels like OSU is going to do almost anything it takes to get back to where it belongs.

A lot of that has to do with the schedule though, something Ohio State can’t control. It’s a tough one next year with crossover games against Wisconsin and Iowa, a nonconference out-of-the-gate game against Notre Dame, and road trips to Penn State and Michigan State.

We’re peering into the crystal ball in a way-too-early run through the schedule to predict every game on the docket for 2022, and here’s how we think things will shake out.
