CeeDee Lamb drops ‘Horns Down’ on arrival to Dallas Cowboys training camp practice

Arriving to practice one of Dallas Cowboys training camp, CeeDee Lamb responds to “Boomer Sooner” from OU fans in attendance with “Horns Down.”

Rivalries don’t end simply because a player graduates or moves on to the NFL. And when a rivalry runs as deep as it does between the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns, it makes for some fun moments.

Sooners great [autotag]CeeDee Lamb[/autotag] provided a fun reminder of the greatness of the Red River Rivalry when he arrived for the Dallas Cowboys first training camp practice in Oxnard, Cali.

After greeting fans with a couple of peace signs, Lamb heard a fan shout “Boomer Sooner!” To which the former Sooners wide receiver responded with a “Horns Down.”

Getting ready for his third season with the Dallas Cowboys, CeeDee Lamb has taken over as the No. 1 wide receiver for America’s team.

After a fantastic 2021 season, the Cowboys opted to trade Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns to save money in his $20 million cap hit for 2022.

Lamb is hoping ti build off of a season in which he caught 79 passes for 1,102 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Cowboys passing attack. Now, in the lead role, there are high expectations for Lamb to produce at an even greater rate in 2022.

If his “Horns Down” arrival to Dallas Cowboys training camp is any indication, Lamb is feeling it ahead of his third NFL season. Big things are coming for the Oklahoma product.

2022 NFL training camp locations and start dates for all 32 teams

When does each team kick off its push to the Super Bowl … and where?

The 2022 NFL offseason is nearly over. In just a month’s time — by July 26 — all 32 teams will have convened their preseason training camps.

These training camps are the first major step toward a Super Bowl. While franchises have flirted with low-impact official team activities late this spring and early in the summer, the beginning of training camp marks the start of a grueling push toward opening night. These are the practices that will determine depth charts and separate main roster standbys from practice squad fodder.

Some teams will have their rookie class working out up to a week early in order to help them adjust to the pro game before the veterans come. Others will have everyone show up at once to see whether their newcomers sink or swim. No one will get an earlier start than the Las Vegas Raiders and new head coach Josh McDaniels, who’ll open camp July 20 thanks to their spot in the preseason-opening Hall of Fame Game. Their opponent, the Jacksonville Jaguars, open practice July 24.

Here’s when all 32 teams will officially kick off training camp and where they can be found. All data comes from the NFL’s communications department.

The New England Patriots are officially bringing back the best uniform in the NFL

The Patriots broke out a DeLorean and heavy Back to the Future vibes to announce the return of their red throwback uniforms.

In 1993, the New England Patriots made a massive mistake.

The Pats, to that point, had struggled through the harsh landscape of the NFL for 33 years with limited success. New England had been to just one Super Bowl in its existence and was blown out 46-10 in a game where a defensive tackle scored a rushing touchdown. Between 1989 and 1992, the franchise won 14 total games.

In search of a change, the Patriots hired Bill Parcells to effectively run all things football, from coaching to personnel decisions. This worked out well enough. The problem, however, was the branding one that accompanied the team’s shift in priorities. Out went the iconic Pat Patriot logo and the fruit punch red of New England’s perfect uniforms. In came dark blue and this garbage heap on the helmet.

This was terrible, but the six Super Bowl wins that followed helped ease the pain of the “Flying Elvis” that dots the team’s helmets. Unfortunately, he’ll remain a fixture in Foxborough this fall and into the foreseeable future.

But not every week. In 2022, the Patriots will rectify that mistake and bring back the glory of the NFL’s most beautiful, non-powder blue uniforms. Specifically through the power of one DeLorean and 1.21 gigawatts of power.

Pat Patriot, after being shelved for years thanks to an NFL rule that forced teams to wear one helmet all season, will make his triumphant return this season now that rule has been lifted. Same with the glorious red jerseys and striped white pants that were once the cold comfort of cheering for a terrible team — “yes, they’re bad, but hot damn do they look good.”

While this could serve as a distraction for a team whose place in the AFC is threatened following a quiet offseason, it’s important to note New England has been awesome in these uniforms before. The red throwbacks were a staple of the middle stage of Tom Brady’s career. And, as with most things Brady wears, he made them look good:

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

The exact date these will be unveiled hasn’t been announced. We can hope for a throwback vs. throwback showdown vs. the Bills in their red helmets or perhaps against the Dolphins in their immaculate 1970s kits. Either way, for at least one glorious weekend the Patriots are going to look cool as hell, with or without Doc Brown’s time machine in the background.

1 most likely breakout rookie for all 32 NFL teams in 2022

Kenny Pickett, Aidan Hutchinson and Logan Bruss (!) top 2022’s breakout rookie candidates.

There’s a reason the sports world stops for the NFL over three days in the middle of spring.

The annual NFL Draft delivers bundles of low-cost talent to Sunday rosters across the league. A single player can change the fortunes of an entire franchise. A stellar draft class in April can lead to a decade of playoff runs and Super Bowl appearances.

Some of these players will need time to adjust to the machinations of the pro game. We’re not talking about those guys today (but if you’re interested, here’s a look at this season’s veteran breakout candidates). Instead, let’s discuss the impact rookies who’ll make their Sunday debuts this fall and have an instant effect that ripples across their new rosters.

Tyler Goodson battling for Green Bay Packers’ running back spot

Tyler Goodson put on a show for his three years as the Hawkeyes’ running back. Now he looks to make his mark in Green Bay’s backfield.

Tyler Goodson had an electric career with the Iowa Hawkeyes. He posted a career that consisted of 2,551 rushing yards, 18 rushing touchdowns, 70 receptions, 565 receiving yards, and one more touchdown. Iowa has sustained success as of late and his offensive contributions are a large factor in that.

Goodson signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent. He joins a running back room that has two established members as incumbents. Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon are two locks to make the roster in this upcoming NFL season. Goodson is working to earn his position as the third running back.

Dillon is a much bigger back and utilized in the short yardage game with his size. Jones and Goodson have similar skillsets. Each of them are great in the passing game and have an ability to make people miss with the ball in their hands in space. The two of them have homerun ability to take any play the distance.

Goodson’s largest competition right now is the Packers’ seventh-round pick from the 2021 NFL draft, running back Kylin Hill. While he spent last season with Green Bay, he had just eight carries and only one catch prior to an ACL injury that sidelined him for the rest of the year and into this summer as he is rehabbing the injury.

Goodson’s rushing and receiving skillset gives the 5-foot-9, 197 pound back both to lean on as he gets ready to enter training camp. He has every opportunity in front of him to make a splash in practices and preseason games.

Hawkeye fans have seen it and Green Bay Packers fans would be wise to get used to the name Tyler Goodson. It wouldn’t be a shock for a handful of splash plays in the preseason on his way to a regular season roster spot.
