Game 6 tipoff time, broadcaster of Boston Celtics – Miami Heat first round series revealed

The tilt will be broadcast by ESPN nationally and NBC Sports Boston locally.

Fans of the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat now both know when the Game 6 matchup of the 2024 NBA Eastern Conference first round series will be played.

A Boston Game 4 win has made such a contest potentially less necessary to decide the series, with a potential Celtics Game 5 win capable of ending the series in favor of Boston before that contest. But if Miami manages to steal another game on the Celtics’ home court of TD Garden on Wednesday, May 1, then Game 6 will be Friday, May 3 at 7 p.m. ET at the Heat’s home court of Kaseya Center.

The tilt will be broadcast by ESPN nationally and NBC Sports Boston locally, and held on a court that the Celtics have won 10-2 in their last dozen meetings in Miami and 7-1 in favor of Boston in the postseason.

MIke Breen on the worst call of his career: the 2022 Jayson Tatum game-winner vs. the Nets

Breen has become an iconic part of the league’s broadcasting landscape but looks at one game in particular as his worst.

“Bang!” goes the catchphrase of one of the most familiar NBA broadcasting voices out there. We are, of course, talking about the legendary Mike Breen.

A veteran of countless games over decades, Breen has become an iconic part of the league’s broadcasting landscape, but he looks at one game in particular as his worst.

That game just so happens to be one of the more riveting and historic contests of the Boston Celtics‘ recent past: Game 1 of the 2022 NBA playoffs first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets. It seems Breen has an issue with how he called the contest that star Celtics forward Jayson Tatum won at the last second.

To hear why he feels that way, check out a clip from a recent interview on the “Old Man and the Three” pod hosted by former NBAer (and nearly, Boston assistant) JJ Redick we have embedded below for your viewing pleasure.

The Boston Celtics’ best moments in the 2022 NBA Playoffs

Don’t be sad that ended — be happy that it happened!

It might not have ended with the kind of result fans of the Boston Celtics were hoping for, but the 2022 NBA Playoffs run the Celtics put together after a season they started as one of the more underwhelming clubs in the league has plenty of moments worth looking back on.

For starters, it was effectively the revenge tour of a lifetime, with Boston dispatching each of the teams that have ended their seasons in recent years as the team worked its way back into contention status as they defeated first the Brooklyn Nets, then the Milwaukee Bucks, and finally the Miami Heat. Add in the satisfaction of sending arch-heel Kyrie Irving fishing with a sweep to kick things off, and it was something of a Celtics masterpiece.

Check out the clip embedded below for a collection of the very best moments from the Celtics’ 2022 postseason run in this highlight reel assembled by YouTuber Tomasz Kordylewski.

The NBA has a postseason officiating problem – and it’s probably more complex than you think

Consistency and transparency will help.

If you ask the fans who watched Game 3 of the series between the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, more than a few of them would likely say they had a bone to pick with how the game was officiated.

Not just Celtics fans, either — or even media who cover the team or the coaching staff or front office members who look at these games with a trained eye. No matter which way you slice it, the game had major officiating problems, with the NBA’s Last Two Minute Report for the game noting a total of FIVE incorrect calls or non-calls in a critical contest that went down to the final buzzer to be decided.

And it wasn’t just this game that there were problems with.

Jayson Tatum highlights: Celtics star logs 29.5 points, 4.5 boards, 7.3 assists per game in Nets series

See all his best plays vs. Brooklyn in this highlight clip.

Boston Celtics All-Star forward Jayson Tatum surprised a lot of national NBA analysts and even some local ones by being the best player on the floor in the Celtics’ first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets in the 2022 Eastern Conference Playoffs, upping his defensive game as one of superstar Nets forward Kevin durant’s primary defenders while easily dominating the offensive end of the court at the same time.

The St. Louis native put up an impressive 29.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game across the four-contest series with Brooklyn in an average of 41.7 minutes per game. Tatum shot 45.6% from the field, a very good 41.9% from beyond the arc, and 86.8% from the charity stripe in the series, fouling 4.5 per contest and turning the ball over 5 times per game.

If you did not get enough of the Duke product in live game action or just want to see him dominate the Nets one more time, check out the clip embedded below to see all his best plays from the Brooklyn sweep again courtesy of YouTuber Tomasz Kordylewski.

Is ‘Top-Five Tatum’ here to stay, or does the Boston Celtics star need to do more to cement his place at the top of the league?

Tatum was the best player in Boston’s first-round sweep of the Nets — is this the new normal for him?

One of the most important factors in the Boston Celtics sweeping the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the 2022 NBA Eastern Conference playoffs was the rise of Celtics All-Star small forward Jayson Tatum, who has become one of the league’s elite players.

The St. Louis native took his defensive game to a another level, becoming one of the primary defenders of superstar Brooklyn forward Kevin Durant on one end of the court while effectively taking him out of the game. He was also easily the most dynamic scorer of either team in the series.

Is Tatum finally among the five best players in the league? If not, how close is he? And what will he need to do to maintain that status?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “A-List” podcast recently posed this question in their breakdown of the Celtics’ sweep of the Nets; check out the video embedded above to get their takes.

Jaylen Brown first round highlights: Celtics star averages 22.5 points, 5.3 boards, 4.3 assists per game vs. Nets

Brown was one of the most important parts of Boston’s win over Brooklyn.

Star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown had himself one of his best playoff series yet of his career against the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the 2022 Eastern Conference NBA playoffs, putting impressive numbers while helping his team to sweep the preseason title favorites in the process.

Brown put up an impressive 22.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game over an average of 38.7 minutes played per game, fouling just twice per game and turning the ball over 2.5 times per contest. The Georgia native shot 49.3% from the field, and 77.8% from the free-throw line, but saw his 3-point efficiency held to just 21.1% in the series.

Still Brown managed to be a major contributor for the Celtics in the series as their second-highest scorer against the Nets.

Check out the clip embedded above to see all of his best plays from the first round put together by fan YouTuber Tomasz Kordylewski.

Previewing the Celtics potential second-round matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks

While the Bulls aren’t yet eliminated, many minds are already looking toward who Boston will be playing next in the 2022 NBA playoffs.

The Boston Celtics may very well end up jumping out of the proverbial frying pan into the fire after sweeping the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the 2022 NBA playoffs. All signs point to a second-round collision with the 2021 NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks.

The Bucks, of course, still need to close out their first-round series with the Chicago Bulls. However, with Milwaukee up 3-1 and Bulls star guard Zach LaVine entering the league’s health and safety protocol, it seems all but certain the Bucks will play the Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The host of the CLNS Media “Winning Plays” podcast, Brian Robb, joined NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg to talk about the potential second-round matchup in their most recent podcast.

Check out the video embedded above to hear what the duo has to say about Boston’s outlook against Milwaukee.

Celtics Lab 106: No sweep ’til Brooklyn (Nets), and a glance at Boston’s second round

This pod, we soak in the sweep of Boston’s Atlantic Division rivals and take a first, brief look at what comes next.

The Boston Celtics have eliminated the 2022 preseason title favorites in four games, about as improbable an outcome at the midpoint of the season as might be imagined. Yet, the Celtics will advance to the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs to face either the Milwaukee Bucks or Chicago Bulls after dispatching the Brooklyn Nets just the same.

How did it happen? Who deserves flowers? Where did the Nets go wrong, and what lies in store for them in their future? Your usual hosts Cameron Tabatabaie, Alex Goldberg, and Justin Quinn got together to gloat a little and think a lot about what might be coming down the pike in the next round of the Celtics’ postseason action.

We cover everything from All-Star forward Jayson Tatum’s ascent to superstardom to the critical buckets made by Payton Pritchard, and do our best to envision a rough outline of what a second-round series with Boston’s most likely opponent might look like.

It will be a few days before that is potentially decided, and longer still for the Celtics to get back on the court, so get your Boston podcast fix with us as we take stock of one heck of a first-round series.

After the Boston Celtics sweep the Brooklyn Nets in the first round, what comes next?

A seemingly simple question that leads to a complicated answer.

The Boston Celtics have eliminated the Brooklyn Nets from 2022 NBA title contention in four games, sweeping the Nets on their own home court to advance to the second round of this season’s Eastern Conference playoffs.

And with that task out of the way comes a few days of much-needed and well-earned rest — but after that, what comes next? The winner of the series between the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls has the Bucks up 3 – 1 so far, meaning it is likely (but not certain) that Milwaukee will be Boston’s next opponent in 2022 postseason play.

The hosts of the NBC Sports Boston “Celtics Talk” podcast Chris Forsberg and Amina Smith got together to talk about some of the ramifications of such a second-round matchup on their most recent episode.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear what we ought to be thinking about as the Celtics gear up to take on the defending champs in round 2.
