Boston Celtics included in Bleacher Report’s ‘Most Disrespectful Blocks of the 2022-23 Season’ video

Even with a notable slip from the season prior under former head coach Ime Udoka, Boston still managed to have one of the better defenses in the league.

With frontcourt players Robert Williams III, Al Horford, Blake Griffin and 7-foot-2 center Luke Kornet alongside defensive-minded guards Marcus Smart and Derrick White, the Boston Celtics had a fair number of blocked shots going into the stands during the team’s 2022-23 campaign.

Even with a notable slip from the season prior under former head coach Ime Udoka, Boston still had one of the better defenses in the league that season, and their rangy bigs and savvy guards were no small part of the reason that was the case.

That propensity for blocking shots got the Celtics included in Bleacher Report’s “Most Disrespectful Blocks of the 2022-23 Season” video released earlier this summer.

If you want to get psyched for the season to come or just need to reminisce about this version of the Celtics sending errant shot attempts flying, take a look at the clip embedded above.

NBA includes the Boston Celtics in their ‘Best ball movement of the 2022-23 season’ video

The Celtics leaned heavily into an assist-heavy style of play under head coach Joe Mazzulla in the 2022-23 season.

Even though they were not moving the ball at quite the level they were in the 2021-22 NBA season under former head coach Ime Udoka, the Boston Celtics leaned heavily into an assist-heavy style of play under head coach Joe Mazzulla. That movement was part of what makes the offensively-oriented style of play that has become known as “Mazzulla Ball” work.

And with their 3-pointer heavy approach to the game during the 2022-23 season, there were more than a handful of exotic passing sequences that were Mazzulla Ball was at its best.

This was something the NBA even took note of, and we know that by way of its decision to include the Celtics in the “Best ball movement of the 2022-23 season” video.

To see the passes that earned the Celtics a spot in this clip (as well as the other teams so included), take a look at the clip embedded above.

NBA includes Boston Celtics in 2022-23 wildest endings video compilation

One tilt, in particular, was a contest that pitted the two teams left standing for the 2022 NBA Finals.

The Boston Celtics were no strangers to clutch moments to close games in the NBA’s 2022-23 season, with a host of regular-season contests coming down to the wire and leaving fans of the storied franchise sweating a bit in the arena or at home.

One tilt, in particular, was a contest that pitted the two teams left standing for the 2022 NBA Finals just a few months prior, the Celtics and the Golden State Warriors. The two teams traded punches throughout regulation only to see the game go to an extra period, with the two coastal foes taking it down to the wire yet again.

To see how that ended (start at just under the 30-minute mark for Boston) plus a slew of other clutch endings from last season put together by the league for its official YouTube channel, take a look at the clip embedded below.

Boston Celtics included in NBA’s ‘Most clutch sequences from the 2022-23 season’ video

If there was a shot more clutch than the last-second tip-in that kept the Boston Celtics from falling to the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals, it’s news to us.

If there was a shot more clutch than point guard Derrick White‘s last-second tip-in that kept the Boston Celtics from falling to the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the 2023 Eastern Conference finals, one would have to think quite long and hard to come up it.

But the Celtics were certainly no stranger to such plays in the 2022-23 regular season and the 2023 postseason that followed it, garnering them a spot in the NBA’s official “Most clutch sequences from the 2022-23 NBA season” highlight video released earlier this summer — and for good reason.

To see what sequence made the cut in the eyes of the league for yourself, take a look at the clip embedded below to check it out for yourself.

NBA’s ‘deepest shots of the 2022-23 NBA season’ video features Boston Celtics

Check the Celtics and other teams lighting it up from well beyond the arc.

There was no shortage of breathtaking shots and plays that defined the 2022-23 NBA season. Unforgettable moments showcased the skill and talent of NBA players who are able to hit from almost anywhere on the court in some cases.

With clutch buzzer-beaters that decided crucial games and jaw-dropping 3-pointers from the zip code of the logo, the NBA put together the most impressive and remarkable deep shots from ’22-23. The compilation featured a number of franchises, including the Boston Celtics, lighting it up from well beyond the arc in increasingly spaced out basketball courts that are driving a scoring revolution in the league.

While we wait for preseason to roll around in October, let’s take one of many looks back at the season past, and in this case, some pretty impressive 3-pointers, in the video embedded below.

Boston Celtics make the NBA’s wildest made shots of the 2022-23 season video

It shouldn’t surprise one to see Boston as one of the teams included in a new video dedicated to wild makes last season.

With the elevation of former assistant coach Joe Mazzulla to head coach of the Boston Celtics last season came his trademark style of play that focuses on the 3-point shot above all else. The offensive philosophy some have dubbed “Mazzulla ball” given its architect’s predilection for offense from beyond the arc.

With that jump-shooting offensive philosophy an integral part of the Celtics’ approach to basketball in their 2022-23 campaign, it ought not to surprise anyone to see Boston as one of the teams included in a new video dedicated to cataloging, as the NBA bills it, the 25 wildest made shots of the 2022-23 season.

In said compilation, there are also a few examples of especially painful makes against the Celtics as well, so be forewarned that a fair dose of discomfort may accompany the sizzling bucket made by Boston near the end of the clip.

Check it out in the clip embedded above for yourself.

The best of the Boston Celtics’ posters, putbacks, and power dunks from 2022-23

The Boston Celtics had their share of emphatic slam dunks during the course of the NBA’s 2022-23 season.

[anyclip pubname=”2123″ widgetname=”0016M00002U0B1kQAF_M8170″]

The Boston Celtics had their share of emphatic slam dunks during the course of the NBA’s 2022-23 season, with star forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown joined by human dunk machine Robert Williams III flushing the rock with plenty of help on the regular from less airborne players like Marcus Smart, Derrick White, Malcolm Brogdon, and even Blake Griffin.

And while the bread and butter of the so-called Mazzulla ball (named for head coach Joe Mazzulla’s predilection for the 3-point shot) played by the team last season had the bulk of the team’s offense coming from beyond the arc, there was a highlight reel worth of dunks, putbacks, and posters worthy of another look for posterity.

To that end, the team put together a short clip of the very best flushes from last season.

The best of Jaylen Brown’s supermax-earning 2022-23 NBA season with the Boston Celtics

What exactly did star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown do to deserve his historic, $304 million supermax contract extension? Well, this.

What exactly did star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown do to deserve his historic, $304 million supermax contract extension? Namely, the Georgia native had himself one of the best seasons of his still-young NBA career by making All-NBA for the first time, on the Second Team as a forward.

The Cal alum put up a career-high of 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 49.1% from the field overall, a lower-than-usual 33.5% from beyond the arc, and 76.5% from the free throw line on his way to helping the Celtics get back to the Eastern Conference Finals, falling short of their ultimate goal of competing for a title last season.

To celebrate Brown’s bag, the folks behind the Maxamillion 711 YouTube channel put together a compilation of the Marietta native’s best plays from the 2023-24 season.

Check it out in the clip embedded above!

How Robert Williams is working to improve his offensive game

Robert Williams has been working on expanding his offensive game during the summer.

Robert Williams is known for his athleticism. The Boston Celtics‘ big man is an above-the-rim threat regardless of the situation. However, outside of his leaping ability, Williams’ only other legitimate offensive weapon is his passing. Entering the first healthy offseason of his career, it would appear that the Louisiana native is looking to extend his offensive abilities.

Recently, some video footage of Williams working out with his skills trainer, Aaron Miller, surfaced on social media. In those videos, Williams can be seen working on a mid-range shot, some floaters, and even some 3-point shots, much to the enjoyment of the fanbase.

Following the emergence of these videos, NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg interviewed Miller to provide a better understanding of what Williams is working on.
