Two Boston Celtics featured in NBA’s best plays by an international player in 2021-22 clip

The Boston Celtics had their share of international players in the 2021-22 season, and two of them made the best plays by international players video made by the NBA.

The Boston Celtics had their share of international players in the 2021-22 NBA season: reserve center Bruno Fernando, backup big man Enes Freedom Kanter, forward Juancho Hernangomez, old friend Daniel Theis, starting forward Al Horford and German floor general Dennis Schroder.

In fact, several were quite good for Boston over the course of the campaign, the latter two even caught the eye of the NBA when it was assembling its recently released “best international players making plays” video to highlight the skills of overseas players when it came to moving the rock around the court last season.

Take a look at the highlight reel the league office put together that features a play from Horford and Schroder while waiting to catch up with how they are doing playing while playing for their respective national teams.

Boston Celtics among NBA’s best court vision plays for 2021-22 season

The Celtics transformed themselves from a moribund passing team near the bottom of the league in assists per game to one of the better passing squads in the NBA last season.

Improving how the Boston Celtics moved the rock ahead of the 2021-22 NBA season was a major priority for (then) new head coach Ime Udoka, and the Celtics transformed themselves from a moribund passing team near the bottom of the league in assists per game to one of the better passing squads in the NBA.

With that increased propensity to pass the ball came a redoubled creativity in how it was done, making for some especially flashy dimes whizzing about the court from players on Boston’s roster over the course of the season.

So much so that the Celtics managed to make the NBA’s video compilation of the best court vision of the 2021-22 campaign across the entire league.

Be sure to take a look at the video embedded above to see what caught the league office’s eye with regards to Boston’s passing.

Boston Celtics tabbed among best overtime moments of 2021-22 NBA season

Wear and tear concerns aside, the feeling of putting away a pesky opponent for good is a reward unto itself for the team and fans alike.

The Boston Celtics had their fair share of close games in the 2021-22 NBA season. Several went into overtime and not all of them broke the Celtics’ way. But there were also some pretty impressive wins carved out in extra periods, even if they did not do the legs of the team any favors in the 2022 NBA Playoffs for having played them.

Wear and tear concerns aside, the feeling of putting away a pesky opponent for good is a reward unto itself for the team and fans alike. The NBA in their wisdom recently assembled a video of some of the best overtime endings across the league last season, with the Celtics registering a few of those contests that were included.

Check out the clip embedded below to see which opponents (from the same division, oddly) that Boston stuck a dagger in late in overtime to secure a win for yourself.

FULL interview of Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks

The St. Louis native had plenty more to say about the impressive run his Celtics made in the season just past, as well as what might be coming down the pike for Boston fans in the season to come.

By now we’ve all heard how Boston Celtics star swingman Jayson Tatum was playing with a nondisplaced fracture of his wrist to finish out the 2021-22 NBA season into the 2022 postseason, as well as how the loss in the 2022 NBA Playoffs stung in ways non-players rarely fully understand after his recent interview with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks.

But that was the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the talk the two recently had, spanning more than an hour in total. The St. Louis native had plenty more to say about the impressive run his Celtics made in the season just past, as well as what might be coming down the pike for Boston fans in the season to come.

Check out the full interview in the clip embedded below to see what Rooks and Tatum chopped it up about in the Celtics superstar’s full Bleacher Report sitdown.

Boston’s Jayson Tatum reveals he was playing injured during 2021-22 season, 2022 NBA Playoffs

The Duke product avoided getting an MRI for some time out of fear he might be told he couldn’t play.

While star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum usually stars each season gradually building up his level of intensity, the 2021-22 campaign and subsequent 2022 NBA Playoffs were the first instances in his career that he seemed to fall apart a bit at the end of the campaign as well.

Some of that was just the sheer amount of high-level basketball the St. Louis native had been playing, with Tatum on the court almost without a break since the league started back up in 2020 after a four-month pause due to the pandemic. But in a recent interview with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks, the Celtics star shared he had also been playing injured since the weekend of the NFL’s Super Bowl LVI.

“I remember driving back to the house, and I had my watch on in the car,” recalled Tatum. “I kept looking at my wrist because it’s like something is weighing on it.”

NBA’s best hockey assists of 2021-22 video features the Boston Celtics

One of the main points of emphasis of then-new Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka was upping the level of ball movement for the Celtics in his first season.

One of the main points of emphasis of then-new Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka was upping the level of ball movement for the Celtics above that of their rather underwhelming levels of recent seasons.

And Udoka managed to instill a culture of ball movement to great effect in his inaugural campaign as head coach, Boston’s ability to spray the rock around the court with dizzying results on their opponents was one of several major components to the 2022 NBA Finals run.

So it probably should not surprise anyone to find the Celtics among the teams featured in a recent clip put together by the NBA of the best hockey assists (multiple, quick passes leading to a scorer connecting as a result) of the 2021-22 season.

Take a look at the clip embedded below to see how All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum threaded quite the needle to multiple Boston big men on the way to a bucket for yourself.

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown featured in NBA’s ‘best losing the defense’ plays of 2021-22

The Boston star put a Pels player on the ground in the clip.

The Boston Celtics made a name for themselves on the defensive end of the court last season under head coach Ime Udoka, but that does not mean they are not among the NBA’s most potent offensive rosters.

Star wing Jaylen Brown can put a defender on the hardwood with ease despite the gripes you may have heard about his handle in the 2022 NBA playoffs. And such an example of the Georgia native doing exactly that made a recent highlight reel put out by the official NBA YouTube channel.

Brow breaks the ankles of a certain New Orleans Pelicans opponent who shall remain nameless to protect the innocent in the league’s 2021-22 “best losing the defense” clip of plays from that season.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to see Brown get his without mercy for yourself while we wait for Celtics preseason basketball to arrive.

Boston Celtics well-represented in NBA’s 100 best dunks from 2021-22 video

With Jayson Tatum, Robert Williams III, and Jaylen Brown on their roster, it probably shouldn’t surprise.

The Boston Celtics were among the dunkiest ball clubs in the league in the 2022-23 NBA season. While that adjective might be entirely of our own creation, we’re pretty sure our point here is clear: with electric, hyperathletic stars Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Robert Williams III, the Celtics truly had the ability to flush the rock like no other team in the league.

So to see that Boston is so well represented among the NBA’s recent 100-best dunks of the 2022-23 season should not come as much of a surprise, with the Celtics making up a double-digit percentage of all the slams included by the league.

Take a look at the clip embedded below to see what flushes made the highlight reel put together by the NBA’s official YouTube channel while we wait for opportunities for Boston to add new ones for the 2022-23 season ahead.

Boston Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown included in NBA video of 2021-22’s best dribble combos

While Brown infamously got a lot of flack for his loose handle in the 2022 NBA Playoffs, it’s clear he can tighten it up with enough focus and rest.

Boston Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown’s name has been in the news far too much lately for the wrong reasons for many Celtics fans — namely rumors of his potential inclusion in a trade offer for disgruntled Brooklyn Nets star forward Kevin Durant.

But the Georgia native received good coverage of the actual basketball sort in a recent clip put together by the NBA that featured a collection of — in their estimation — the best dribble combos put on a basketball court in the league of the 2021-22 season, which features a play from the Celtics wing.

While Brown infamously gained a lot of flack for his loose handle in the 2022 NBA playoffs, it’s clear he can tighten it up with enough focus and rest, so while we wait for that to happen, enjoy a little bit of Brown putting an opponent on skates.

Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum included in NBA video of 2021-22’s best footwork

The Celtics star is exceptionally skilled with his footwork, a fundamental aspect of the sport sometimes overlooked by even its best players.

Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum has made a name for himself in the NBA for many skills that readily come to mind, from his excellent handle and deadly long-distance shot to his ability to get to the rim and, more recently, passing the rock out of increasingly frequent double teams.

But the Celtics star is also exceptionally skilled with his footwork, a fundamental aspect of the sport sometimes overlooked by even its best players. Tatum, however, has put on a show a few times with his footwork as recently as last season, and it caught the attention of the videographers in the league office.

Those examples of the St. Louis native leaving his opponents in the dust with his rock-solid fundamentals made the cut of some of the best footwork deployed by players in the 2021-22 season.

Watch the clip embedded above to see Tatum go to work along with several other NBA luminaries of today.
