Aggies third baseman Gavin Grahovac shares message for 12th Man while playing for Team USA

“Here with Team USA, looking forward to next year with y’all. The 12th Man has been awesome, looking forward to being back at Olson Field.”

Freshman third baseman Gavin Grahovac became one of several Texas A&M Aggies to announce their respective return to College Station this past week after briefly entering the transfer portal following the departure of former head coach Jim Schlossnagle to the Longhorns.

As the nation celebrated Independence Day on Thursday, Grahovac is representing his country by playing for the United States on the diamond. After his return was announced, Grahovac shared a message with Aggies fans.

“What’s up, Aggieland! Out here with Team USA, looking forward to next year with y’all,” Grahovac foretold. “The 12th Man has been awesome, looking forward to being back at Olson Field.

“Gig ‘Em!”

During his first year in College Station, the underclassman star was named the D1Baseball Preseason SEC Freshman of the Year. He followed that by earning SEC Freshman of the Week in back-to-back fashion during April.

Grahovac previously played for the 2022 18U U.S. national team.

Studs and Duds from Seahawks 37-27 win over Panthers

Who stood out from Seattle’s dominant victory?

The Seattle Seahawks keep up their winning ways, claiming a second straight victory. This time, the Carolina Panthers were their latest victim.

Seattle matched their point total from last week, 37, but under much different circumstances. Instead of a dramatic finish in overtime, the Seahawks had the game wrapped up well into the 4th quarter, giving fans a much-needed respite from wild finishes.

In a game like this, which was less competitive than 37-27 might suggest, there are going to be more Studs than Duds.

Seahawks fans celebrate clutch win vs. Lions in overtime

Here’s what the 12s are tweeting following a much-needed win.

The Seattle Seahawks got a ton of lucky breaks from the officials, they squandered a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, they lost Pro Bowl cornerback Riq Woolen to a chest injury and they made Jared Goff look like Peyton Manning at times. Despite all of that, they still managed to come away with an overtime win over the favored Detroit Lions on the road.

Here’s what the 12s are tweeting following a much-needed win.

Texas A&M has named senior LB Sam Mathews as the program’s new 12th Man

Head Coach Jimbo Fisher has officially named senior linebacker Sam Mathews as Texas A&M’s 12th Man for the 2023 college football season

Texas A&M’s 12th Man tradition is simply the backbone of Aggie pride and one of the greatest traditions the college football realm has to offer. For those outside the College Station beltway, every current and former Texas A&M student is considered a part of the 12th Man. Still, on the gridiron, one player, usually unknown to the masses as a walk-on athlete, is chosen to dawn the number before each season.

For the 2023 season, senior linebacker Sam Mathews has received the honor. As a proven commodity on special teams during the 2022 campaign, Mathews also saw time as a linebacker against Florida, recording six tackles while showing impressive athleticism and pursuit.

Mathew’s trek to Aggieland started during the 2021 season after brief stints at Harding University (AR) and one season at Blinn Junior College. After his contributions in 2022, Mathews was named Special Teams MVP and the Strength & Conditioning Specialist Award.

Assuming that Mathews will continue his special team’s duties, the 12th Man tradition will live on, and I do not doubt that he will proudly represent the Maroon and White for the season’s entirety.

Season Tickets for the 2023 Texas A&M football campaign have been sold out

Opposing teams will have to deal with one of the loudest stadiums in the country as the 12th man fills the stands

Kyle Field will be rocking for the 2023 season, and we have the numbers to back it up. The Aggie faithful snatched up a whopping 92,000 plus season tickets, followed by a near-record number of student passes at 39,000.

Even coming off a down season, there is much to be excited about once the Aggies take the field. The core of their top recruiting class is still intact; they led the SEC in returning starters, Bobby Petrino is ready to feed the studs, and Jimbo Fisher has a different swagger about himself this offseason.

These numbers solidify that Kyle Field will remain one of the loudest football stadiums in the nation when opposing teams trot on the field and have to deal with the 12th man.

Cal Raleigh to raise the 12th Man Flag

Pacific Northwest fans are enjoying high level of play from their beloved sports franchises.

Pacific Northwest fans are enjoying high level of play from their beloved sports franchises. The Seahawks are tied for first in the NFC West, the Kraken are one of the hottest teams in the NHL, and the long suffering Mariners finally broke their 21-year playoff drought this past fall.

The Mariners captured the hearts of fans across the region, and reminded the world why Seattle is a great baseball town. Of a season filled with countless memorable moments, none was bigger than the moment the Mariners finally ended the drought.

On October 1st, tied 1-1 in the bottom of the ninth with two outs, catcher Cal Raleigh took to the plate to hit a solo home run deep to right field. The rest, as they say, is history.

Cal Raleigh has earned himself legend status in the City of Seattle, and on Sunday he will be honored by the neighboring Seahawks. Raleigh will partake in the time-honored Seahawk tradition of raising the 12th Man Flag in the south end zone.

Raleigh’s 27 home runs weren’t just a Mariners franchise record for a catcher, it actually lead all of Major League Baseball at the position.

When the Mariners resume in the Spring, it’s safe to say there will be plenty of No. 29 jerseys at T-Mobile Park. But for now, Raleigh will be wearing navy and action green to hype up the 12th Man.

Seahawks fans respond to Richard Sherman’s recent comments on his podcast

Among other things, Sherman suggested that the 12s need to lower their expectations.

Richard Sherman is indisputably the greatest cornerback in Seahawks history. His tight coverage and superb ball skills helped make Seattle the best defense of the modern era and his contributions were a major reason why the team made it to two consecutive Super Bowls.

Sherman is also a highly controversial figure who’s never afraid to speak his mind, no matter who it might offend. He was in rare form on his most recent podcast when he made some derogatory comments about Seahawks fans while chatting with Cliff Avril. Among other things, Sherman suggested that the 12s need to lower their expectations.

These fans had never won anything before we got here. They had never won anything. They went to the Super Bowl in ’06 and were happy to be there, and that was their biggest claim. And then we get there, we win a Super Bowl, we spoiled them with historic defense and then all of a sudden that’s their expectation. . . You should lower your expectation substantially. … They were talking about getting rid of us and they were like, ‘We got replacements. We got LOB 2.0. And then you got rid of us and then you realize you don’t. You realize we were once in a generation talent and you should have kept it and appreciated it when you had it.”

Naturally, those words rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way. Here’s what they’re saying about Sherman on Twitter.

Russell Wilson shares hype video ahead of 2021 home opener for Seahawks

Russell Wilson says he’s uper excited to play in front of the 12s again.

The Seattle Seahawks last played a meaningful football game in front of their home crowd almost two years ago.

These long months have been some of the most difficult in our history, so it will be a special treat to hear the roar of that crowd once more. Russell Wilson says he’s uper excited to play in front of the 12s again.
